What if it were possible that someone were to be born that had no potential to do anything special in life? Everypony has a talent or can do something well but just like in real life. That is not true at all! Not everyone can do something. Someponies (like myself) can't actually do ANYTHING really well. No talents, No skills, no ability. Nothing. What if an adult blank flank existed? What would they do to live? How would society built on a marking on your body defining who you are and what you do look at someone who simply does not have anything special or useful to do? They would not need to be homeless or anything. They could still have a job. They would just be a blank and not have anything special about them. Could that even happen? They would have to find employment to make a living, but with how their society is when you don't have a talent or anything special about you mostly you will find it someday. I'd point out is that simply because of the cutie mark referring to the talent/destiny of the pony with it, a lack of one wouldn't really mean that they aren't special, because a lack of a cutie mark would ironically make them special in their own way. Just because you don't know what your specialty is yet doesn't mean that you have no talent or skills or anything Since the cutie mark is a destiny thing think about AppleJack's. It's 3 apples because her destiny is to work on an apple farm. That's not really a talent per se, it is something she does very well. My late mother was an incredible artist. I used to doodle a bit and in retrospect I really wasn't that bad but I never thought I could create art because I was always comparing myself to her. Heck I didn't even know I could sing a solo until I was much older because in my head I had myself convinced I was a choir person. I have an incredible voice but you could not have convinced me of that 20 years ago. We do funny things to ourselves when we sell ourselves short. I'm sure that adults could be blank flanks but not forever. There's a cutie mark out there for every pony. It just might take some longer to find it. Think of a kid picking up an instrument for the first time, obviously it doesn't sound as good as someone who does it for a living. Everyone has a certain thing that makes them unique and special. The thing wrong with that statement is that cutie marks are supposed to be special, not some boring one. The up side is that it is a cutie mark at least. There is no adult that is a blank flank in my eyes (well besides animation errors). An adult blank flank will not be able to fit into society even with a job. A pony's job is reflective upon their talents.
