metro barely has a HUD, it's only really there when you change weapons and stuff, and that's an FPS. Of course metroid prime is an FPS.

Oh, I guess I just assumed that you were against metroid prime being an FPS.

Hands down the best FPS of all time is Modern Warfare 2. No other game even comes close. MW3 and COD 4 are also amazing, but the rest of the COD series is pretty bad. Battlefield 3 comes second. Everything else is either too outdated or the mechanics are just terrible

world at war is pretty good. But modern warfare 2 is by far the best call of duty ever. I will disagree that it is the best FPS of all time however, it is one of the best. In total, for the whole game, I would say halo 3 is better, though if we include multiplayer and graphics then mw2 is better. And of course there is half life 2, which is in its own league, and by its self in that league since it's so good.

Oh, I guess I just assumed that you were against metroid prime being an FPS.

oh no, I just don't like the game an awful lot, but I'm not saying it's not an FPS. Cause it is.

the original doom is awesome, some FPS games I have now aren't as good as doom.

- The Metroid Prime trilogy. Probably my favorite FPS of all time! They are some of the best Wii/GameCube games i have ever played.

- Crysis 2 and Crysis 3. Say what you want PC gamers, but i think Crysis 2 and 3 are awesome. Mixing and matching the Nanosuit's different abilities is so much fun!

That pretty much explains everything. I think everyone can agree that the wii kind of screwed up motion control in some games, and I can imagine Metroid being one of 'em. If you ever get the chance, try getting your hands on a gamecube version. An actual controller really is the best way to go in this case.

Not to butt in, but i honestly tought the motion controls for Metroid Prime were really good. In fact, i liked the Wii version more than i liked the GameCube version. And that's saying a lot considering how much i loved the GameCube version.

HALO! Meh, the others are alright. (Lol)

I never played BF3 but I have BF4 on xbox one and its awesome. Tf2 is quite good. Zombies is awesome, sadly the highest round I got to on bo1 was around 34-37 I don't remember exactly, but I know it was around that.

Metroid Prime (Hunters was my favorite because of the online)

Halo 2, 3 and Reach (Never liked ODST, and Halo 4 was too much of a letdown)

Doom 1+2 (3 was good, but it didn't feel like a Doom game)

Rainbow Six Vegas 2

COD (MW2 and BO2 are the only ones I've liked since COD 2, but MW2 was one of the best FPS games I've ever played)

Bioshock

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is one of my favorite shooting games. It's got a first person mode, so I should think it counts.

I've never been one to play shooters all that much. When I'm in the mood for them they can make the best damn game ever but otherwise I stick to other genres.

That said, I have realized that when I say this is usually comes down to the type of shooter as well. I don't much care for faster/twitch type shooters where I can die within a few shots. I prefer the slower, more methodical types of shooters.

I'm gonna include TPS in here as well. These are shooters I've been known to enjoy (in no particular order) :

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Wolfenstein 3D

Timesplitters: Future Perfect

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus

Geist

Rage

007: Nightfire

007: Agent Under Fire

Red Steel 1 and 2

Condemned: Criminal Origins (although calling it a shooter is a bit of a stretch, it's more like a first person brawler)

Bioshock

Bulletwitch

The Darkness 1 and 2

Red Dead Redemption (while not strictly a shooter it still deserves a spot here for being so thematically awesome)

Tomb Raider 2013

Metroid Prime 1 and 2 (3 is pretty cool too but I hate the Wiimote control scheme. I wanted the Gamecube controller back)

Star Fox Assault

Turok Evolution

Extermination

Headhunter (though maybe more adventure/stealth than shooter)

Ratchet & Clank series

Duke Nukem Forever (the exception to the twitchy-hate rule. This game was pretty awesome)

Infamous 1 and 2

Mirror's Edge

Resident Evil 4 and 6

There are a couple of games I've only played a little bit into and I'll list them with their initial impression rating:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Meh. I really will have to play this game farther than the first two levels to really get a feel for it but this is a prime example of the twitchy gameplay that I don't care for)

Medal of Honor (PS1 original) - I loved what I played but the game glitches out like crazy on my PS3. Dunno if it's cuz the disc is scratched to high hell or just can't emulate well on PS3. Either way Imma test it on my PS2 at some point)

Borderlands - Loved what I played of it but randomly stopped playing only a few hours into the game. Not particularly a fan of having my inventory so limited when there's a million things to pick up...even if most of those things are worthless PoS's and I'd only pick them up to sell them.

Fracture - First impressions were good but really felt like a game that could get real samey real fast. Great concept but back to the twitchy gameplay.

---

NOTE: I am fully aware that some of these games are heavily stretching the definition of what constitutes a shooter. These are games I felt had enough shooter mechanics to be put into a list about shooters.
