movies/tv Viz licenses Sailor Moon Crystal, and re-release of Sailor Moon

Not only does this mean the new series will be released outside Japan, its also the first time Sailor Stars is being released in the US, or even shown legally on the internet. I'm also guessing by the "new dub", that Stars is also dubbed as well...which is a shocker.

When I was little even guys here watched Totally Spies... we loved it. I don't know about others but I definitely think it's a cult classic, it doesn't have to be old. Also films like Leptirica... I used to shit myself just thinking about it

No, not really. They represent each planet, in a way based on their powers/mythose on the names of each. Everything is is pretty much the grandfather of the basic plots of magical girl shows.

I'm guessing you're pretty young.

 

I liked Sailor Moon because it's about a girl who isn't too smart, is pretty selfish, a crybaby, just a regular person.  Then she suddenly finds out that she has powers and responsibility.  But unlike most shows where the heros accept it and do what they should, she is scared and doesn't want to go fight evil alien things.  And then the rest of the show is just her progressing as a person and learning to accept everything, finding others like her to help her out, yadda yadda.  It's one of those things you have to watch to really know.

Your not old. Here I am reminiscing about Totally Spies. I love it-watched it in 2nd grade. If you feel old..man I must feel old..I wonder how its a Cult Classic. Though, it might be because everyone loves Clover..

Well, that's pretty cool, because as far as I understood it the series was in "licensing hell", meaning it was nearly impossible that this would actually happen.

 

I never watched it, but I can be happy for the fans that the 'impossible' happened. =)

 

It wasn't in licensing hell, the creator had a near death grip on it, and didn't like how alot of the original distributions handled it, so she wouldn't let alot of people try to rerelease it.

Regardless, I'm curious on how this'll turn out, 'cause they'll be showing episodes that never got dubbed before, including a lost one with a dinosaur for some reason. Yeah, I don't get it either. And unedited, too. I can hear pen nubs rubbing on those tablets as we speak.

The DVD and Blue Ray will be international. Supposedly, they planned even before Viz to try to release DVDs all at once, but never got to do it.

I have never watched SM,before, out of all the anime I have watched. I have tried, but never got into it. -3- Seems ancient.
