Dear God, What sales pitch are they using to sell that... xD

Please stop typing like that. It's annoying as all Hell.

Wow, that was bad. I think the Derpy one was better, but they're both pretty bad. Edited by Dusk Eninama

Objection! Hold it! Take that! Gotcha! Eureka!

I like video games and anime.

Well yeah. It'd be cool if plushies were readily available, but I don't know how true-to-show they'd be (Just look at those figurines they're marketing. Oh, and that baby Pinkie Pie... -shudders-).

Haah. But in all seriousness, I am glad that the bronies are the ones dishing out the top quality plushies. Each one is one-of-a-kind and made with loving care accompanied with true brony devotion. It allows their creators to be artistic and profitable. Just as we support the efforts of the show creators, I think it's important that we recognize that these plushie people put in just as much dedication to make us happy. Also, bronies have been known to donate to charities and we only enable this behavior by purchasing their plushies. In regard to the prices, I think that they are worth it. After all, each plushie IS a truly unique, beautiful piece of art and it is only natural that it comes with a price.

So yeah. I like the plushies to be produced by the bronies because they are focused on quality and fandomship, not mass production and sales.

Edit: Bad grammar and typos. Oh, and then I added this picture:

Not when they cost thousands of dollars....

I'm sure you could find cheaper ones, but they aren't nearly as good as the super expensive ones.

I'd buy one if I had the money. Although out of my reach, I still think they are worth it. I would only buy one if it was super expensive, because those are the ones that are most true-to-show and aesthetically pleasing to me. Though I admit, I do have poor spending habits. I don't care though. XD I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could.

It's the Super Cider-Squeezy moral: Quality over Quantity! Also where did you find the picture of the luna plushie? I wants it

I am also confused why Hasbro has never made ACCURATE toys... I mean, were they high on rainbows while they made them?

Maybe so much of the funding goes into their shows that they don't have the right materials and artists to make the toys... I don't know, just a possibility.

Or maybe they just don't give a sh*t?

That would be my guess.

Here is an example of an official Pinkie Pie plushie:

If they made a Rainbow Dash plushie that is at least this decent, I would buy it.

It at least has the right visual style and right cutie mark.

However, it could obviously be much more show accurate

Lol did someone rip her hair out?

Well here's the thing. I as a grown guy have no intention on playing with the little toys... the plushies on the other hand... Man they would be great. I just dont get why dont they make them already!

I think that better toys are on the way in the near future.

Hasbro had gotten away for decades with pushing out similar designs for the MLP franchise. They were making a profit on MLP toys before, so when FiM launched, they probably figured they might as well push out similar quality products.

They are a pretty boring billion dollar, multinational company. Increasing revenues and cutting costs are their top priorities. It probably takes them millions of dollars and quite a bit of time to push a new toy out.

In the beginning, to Hasbro, it probably made perfect sense to recycle as much as they could between generations. Then the brony phenomena caught them completely flat-footed.

Suddenly, they had fans of the show that wanted show-accurate toys and wanted them right now. The problem was that Hasbro was not going to do anything that it might not make money on. Most likely, they initially underestimated the size and the buying power of the brony community.

When the blind bags started flying off of shelves, I bet that Hasbro decided to take us more seriously. I think that they probably studied the brony community pretty closely and tried to come up with a few toys that they could put out there to gauge how much demand.

I think that this is the reason for the upcoming Nightmare Moon and Zecora toys (and a few others as well). It is a way for Hasbro to test the waters with the brony community, and see if we will put our money where our mouths are.

If those toys sell well, then we will probably see Hasbro experiment with larger changes in their toy lineup in the future.

Really, I think that we should be giving Hasbro more credit. Big companies move really really slowly, and Hasbro is the second largest toy company in the U.S.

Given that most companies would want to distance themselves from a group like us bronies (due simply to them being closed-minded). I have actually been surprised by how Hasbro has listened to our demands and continues to (slowly) improve the toy lineup.

I do not think that they will ever make customs or plushies as good and as diverse as those that are made by the community though. For Hasbro to make money on something, they have to be able to mass produce it. And, whenever something is mass-produced you are going to see a drop in average potential quality. I am certain they can do much better than they are doing now though. We just need to be patient and keep buying the good stuff whenever it comes out.

Yes, thank you. I was waiting for the logical post. :)

In a world where we are used to instant gratification and for people to be able to change things instantly and according to the way we want it... I suppose we can't grasp the big picture. Large corporations don't think of a product and release it 2 weeks later. They have a lot of loops to jump through before they can release anything in stores. They have to do the math - how much will it cost to produce these toys, how much should they charge for the toys so that they can make a profit, how much detail can they put into these toys before they start taking extra time and money to produce, what kind of toys will sell, etc.

I work in retail at a small business. While it's easier for us to make business decisions at a smaller scale, the bosses still have to put their heads together and figure out what's best for the company and the best way to make money. For a large corporation to be able to do that, and especially for them to consider making changes to their product line due to an unexpected group of customers, would be much more difficult.

As an added note, if you haven't seen the Fall 2012 Toys R Us Exclusives yet, now might be a good time to check them out. I can guarantee that you will not be disappoint.
