Ferrous_Oxide

Ferrous_Oxide. Ferrous Oxide, Iron(II) Oxide, FeO. An oxide of iron that takes the form of a dark black powder. In reality, my username is supposed to reflect rust, or Ferric Oxide. However, Ferrous Oxide rolls off the tongue more easily, and in my opinion sounds better. The back story is somewhat long so I will condense it. I find rust to have an aesthetic appeal to me, as long as it does not harm the function of the object. The rusty look makes things seem more rugged and vintage in my eyes. One day I was taking a look through a book my dad let me have on the subject of the history of Zildjian cymbals. On the inside front cover were numerous stylized alchemical symbols for elements and compounds. One of them was Iron Oxide. I already had the rusty aesthetic in my liking, and the symbol for it was simple yet charming to me. thus I began using monikers that applied rust and iron in the names. I eventually landed on Ferrous Oxide, and whatever available variations of it as my username for many of the websites I visited.

I would like to think we have free will, but thinking about it always leads into a reciprocal feedback loop of second guessing myself and doubt that leaves me somewhat paranoid and questioning the very existence of reality as a whole. Not to mention the scientific experiments that show that the human body prepares for a motion before that motion is even sent from the brain. I just don't like the idea of set paths and invisible puppet masters, as that can lead to indifference and apathy with the world. I prefer free will because it acknowledges that your actions have reactions, and you alone are held responsible for those actions, unless in circumstances where one choice is the only available option in your capabilities. Free will means that in order to make your life better you have to work for it, and it acts as a motivational factor for me to work towards a brighter future, rather than apathetically sit waiting for my life to run it's predetermined course.

Just posting some more art. These were all done in Sharpie. Sorry that I don't have Twilight or Rarity, the reasons being I only have one shade of purple, and I can't draw Rarity's mane. I need to work on that.

10/10, because cuuuuute.

That may be because I didn't have a pencil at the time, BECAUSE MY LITTLE BROTHER STOLE IT!, and had to use a pen. Colored pencils don't cover ink very well, leaving behind the parts where I kind of messed up and the places where I made marks for proportion. It was also the first time I drew Fluttershy, so that contributed also.
