Requirements for a signature image: 600x100 or smaller. I could not find anything about the type of image (PNG, JPG, TIFF, etc.) that would or would not work.

http://www.bronyathome.org/sigimage.php?u=605723&t=212997&b=twilight3

basically is the signature I want to have, but it says "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community."

This is interesting, so I try one of these blank ones

http://www.bronyathome.org/images/sigimages/luna1.png (for example)

and it works fine.

It seems the forums don't like images that are dynamically created? I'm only posting about this because I don't see anything that says I should not be able to have such a signature image.

Cheers

Correct.

I can say it would be a little overkill to itemize all viable scripting, methodologies, and languages that IPB will not accept. The absence of that specificity does not create and open ended allowance. You can convert it to a .png or .jpg however.

The image is already a PNG image. Converting and making it static will defeat the purpose of having such an image to begin with. Every 3 hours the image contains new information, and is generated on the fly. The information it is updated with comes from this website http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=212997

I understand the purpose of server scripting used in images, I use them at work.

I know that this isn't the answer you want to hear, but we do not allow them on MLP Forums. If doesn't matter if it is .php, angular, etc.

I suppose I could make a cron job script that pulls the image and drops it on my server every three hours, but that seems kinda silly for just a normal PNG image thats already hosted on another website. Caching would probably screw with things too. Maybe I'll set up a wget script later tonight and see how that goes.
