planning Equestrians play D&D (roleplayception)

So this idea is going to take six people with some basic knowledge of d&d, though some of the characters can be not so versed in it because they are new to the game. Also I'd appreciate people with a firm grasp of the characters persona that they picked and come with a sense of humor (cause this is a light hearted concept)

The concept: This is a roleplay of the mane six playing a game of dungeons and dragons. Each pony is playing for various reasons, some out of curiosity, some out of living their personal fantasies, some because they had nothing better to do, and some because they felt they had to. So you will be playing a character who is playing a character that they would of created.

The rp they are playing is fairly basic, they meet in a tavern, they go off to do x, fight some monsters along the way, have a few laughs and arguments over rolls, the d&d experience.

Pinkie Pie is allowed to openly reference the OOC posts as long as the other characters have no clue what she is talking about (she shatters the fourth wall after all)

The races and classes will understandably be ponified.

I have experience playing both D&D and Applejack. I'd like to play Applejack, but I figure she doesn't have much experience with D&D, so she'll play a simple fighter.

Does it have to be the mane six, or is Spike allowed to get involved? I could see Spike as a Fighter or Sorceror with max charisma, constantly trying to pick up any mare that resembles Rarity in any way, as well as Rarity's character if it's also a mare.

Argh late to the topic to claim the one I wanted. Well... I just wanted to say if this comes up again I'd be interested .3.

Sorry internet died on me. I think it was 2d6 + Str Modifier. I can't be too sure. I didn't even know I could do it.  I just joked around and said "I pick up one of the charging kobolds and throw him at his friends." I got a few laughs, but the DM was all serious and said "All right, roll then." Wide eyes and I rolled and critted XD Best DnD day ever I would say.

yoshikupo for Twilight

Tyranosuarus in F18s for Rainbow Dash

Red Cedar For Applejack

HunterTSN for Rarity

From the looks of it Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are the two open slots

I could pull off the wacky randomness that is Pinkie, personally though I hope whoever picks flutters will be able to use that inner rage she has against some Orcs...or I guess changelings lol.

Alright we got something of a group going on! Now we need a reason for why they are playing. Characters like Rarity and Applejack are the kinds of ponies that do not simply hop into games like this, while Rainbow and Pinkie would jump at the idea.

Here is the general idea I have brewing so far: Twilight has been working on a new book collection after the loss of her previous batch from the Tirek fight. During one of her scavenging quests for new and rare books for her upcoming library she discovered an ancient book that appeared to of been written (in part at least) by Star Swirl The Bearded. As she reads through it she finds that it is rules for a game. Whats more the throne room has a table that seems to respond to the tome and create scenarios with miniature hologram'esk models and intricate scenery. She is convinced that there is some hidden secret in this campaign that Starswirl had laid out and all it needed was adventurers to play it.

However since he was kind of not one to make friends he never got to really play the campaign he crafted.

Each character had their own reason for going on the quest, and solving each of their objectives ultimately leads up to the big boss and over arching story. Examples include stuff like a lost filly, finding a secret treasure in a hidden temple, finding the next great thing to sing about and entertain ponies, running from ponies hunting you, be creative about it.

We are going to have to figure out who the DM is going to be though, It could be twilight since she found the book, but I do have an idea where the RP could end up and the "board" they will be playing on will have a few plot twists about it.
