Show your support for Free Speech in the fandom!

Harmonic Revelations

Put this either as your signature or just put it at the top of your About me page if you support the right of the wonderful artists of the community to post whatever they want.

The threats that the artist behind the Molestia blog has been getting are ridiculous and childish on the part of those sending them and I think we should push back. We can't let this censorship stand, it isn't right, it just isn't, and so, we must show the disdain it makes us feel.

The blog is hilarious and nobody is making anybody else read it by force so taking it down is morally wrong and we just can't stand for that kind of thing. We can't allow the death threats the artist keeps getting to continue.

There's no better way to do this than to show your support for the free speech in the fandom than with this banner I made, it can double as a signature or as an image you just put at the top of your "About me"

Just leave a comment so I can add you to the list of supporters of free speech.

Not sure if I want to use it as my sig. Still I'm throwing my hat in with molestia.

Like I said, you could just put it at the top of your "About me" part of your profile page if you didn't want to use it as your sig.

I'm really impartial to the blog(I like gamer luna and I've seen a couple funny panels from it floating around).

Even though I won't use the sig thing, I'll throw my hat in just to support freedom of speech and because Luna.

And JJ makes awesome art outside the blog and I wouldn't want him to get discouraged.

I wish people would stop taking this drama so damn seriously. The one attacking JJ is an attention whore, plain and simple. And all of us who are obsessing over it are giving the attacker exactly what he's craving.

Just saying, supporting free speech is just as much about allowing a blog like the Molestia one to exist as it is respecting people's ability to hate on it. ;)

But there is more than one, there are actually supporters of taking it down here on the forums, and what they're doing is unacceptable.

I'm not disrespecting people's right to hate on it, I'm disrespecting the fact that they're sending it's creator death threats, which as the saying goes

"Your right to swing your fist ends where my face begins"

This is by far the vocal minority. Everyone who tackles an unwholesome subject gets them. The whole drama storm is only giving attracting more attention whores to the cause.

Take comfort in the fact that only the blog's owner has the actual ability to close the blog. If you don't want the blog to close down, get in touch with its owner directly and tell them that you care, and want it to continue. A small, personal message like that may do wonders to convince them to continue on in the face of haters, especially if they haven't been running websites for many years.

The Internet community doesn't need any more politics. The fact that sites are generally privately owned empowers people to carve out and destroy their own spaces on the Internet whenever they want. So... if you like a particular site, tell its owner that it's worth their time to continue maintaining it. :)

I, first of all, don't understand how this came to be just so suddenly, as the blog is at least a year or so old. There's nothing wrong with it at all, it's hilarious to me. If someone doesn't like something, they should simply just ignore it. Same goes for everything else.

I haz commented.
Still, again, I don't see the big fuss...Molestia and Gamer Luna have been around for a while, and suddenly there's an uproar...hm... >.<

It is unlikely that Molestia will be taken down anyway but I do share the sentiment. I think this is part of the larger problem of people putting the fandom on a pedestal and expecting everyone to abide by their standards of what isn't appropriate which is ridiculous because we are not a hive mind.
