DIVISION

The easy first task of understanding division, is always to get the integer division and remainder. That's where it all starts. The problem is, as soon as that has been taught, you are all of a sudden supposed to deal with the real numbers without getting any explanation why, or how they work. There are no remainders, only fractions and sh*t. But wait, all of a sudden there is more, now we have the way to divide numbers that are less than 1, or even negative. And then we have the case of dividing with 0 (zero) which is not just illegal but also undefined, etc, etc.
Division is good for inverting multiplication, and for getting remainders! Those are useful stuff I use every day in my programming. But division in the schoolbooks are just BLAH! -

Well, there WAS this upscale curry restaurant my (now ex) Special Somepony used to like getting dressed up for,when we were first dating; she would have something mild with coconut milk in it, and a bottle of wine.
After we had been dating a while, she decided she preferred the curry from the same place, but as takeout so she could eat watching a DVD in a onesie, in her own flat - that way she didn't have to spend ages getting all ready, and wasn't scared the whole time that she would either do the "wrong thing" in public, or stain an expensive dress.
Did late evening cinema a few times too, as she was a Harry Potter fan; modern seats seem to be designed as torture devices though
