    nice, but still no dice
  3. yes here in the states it is common practice to mislabel apple juice as "cider" although as cider wasn't so popular a drink in the southern states back during/before the prohibition era juice is typically labeled properly as juice and cider is just hard to find in the actually brewed variety. the point was made that as the show is produced here in the states that the local meaning of cider meant the cider was actually just juice, however the voices of the apple family and their character naturally indicates a southern origin, meaning that cider=booze. also if nothing else proves it cheerily's face does, happy drunk is happy.

    i leave for one day of shooting, and return to this... son, i am disapoint. btw, SPAM!!!
  5. i think i must agree with arylett's argument that "pony fan" is the only actually gender neutral term for this particular fandom. being from rural texas i would be uncomfortable referring to any female as a "mare" because it is dangerously close to the term "hag" meaning an old, infertile and typically inhospitable female horse. the reason i say "dangerously close" is because women in my neck of the woods generally are safest assumed to be dangerous, it's a simple survival rule. in conlusion i think "pony fan" is really the best gender neutral term to use, as the key demographic of the show is young girls, and typically grown women have no problem finding appreciation for what is intended for their younger counterparts. "brony" really in my thinking is a masculine term used to refer to the entertainment industry's equivalent of the fishing industry's term "side catch" meaning fish caught in the net outside of the target species. we are men who have been caught up in the magic of pony friendship, we are the exception to the rule, we males are specifically the bronies, women do not really fit this classification. that is my thoughts anyhow

  9. i didn't think that term would be used so readily by anyone aware of it's meaning lol. fun read, i'll look and watch for more of your work.
  10. ok that'd be awesome antics to see on the show!
  11. HAHA! as the son of a career nurse i gotta say that's a funny short read! one note though, i'd exclude the term "gelding", it refers to a male horse that has been castrated. things i wish i didn't know, but being in texas i was unable to avoid this knowledge... in a land like equestria i'd think that would be an incredibly rare if not non-existant practice. great read other than the uncomfortable pause at that term.
  12. someone should redo that devil went to georgia pmv with the proper version of the song... and now for something completely different;

    too true dude, although the recurring jokes about the types of swallow are easily high on my list
  14. i used to think america had always built the best cars, no really i did think that when i was a kid. also i thought that human life was in large part a disposable commodity, political news often leaves me wondering if this is wrong. when i was 3 or so i thought plums were a strange type of blue apple. "if these guys are watching my little pony, they gotta be at least a little gay..."

  17. they better give him some other lines if he's going to be a lead character for the episode, otherwise what are they saying? that he has a massive learning disability and that his vocabulary was lucky to grow past eeyup and eenope to include "no deal?"
  18. i'm betting on all three in the same episode (far as i consider it, the same time) scoot's likely being speed related (she's a pegasus, that scooter won't be permanent.) sweetie's likely to be a microphone (singing, duh.) and applebloom's probly a pie portion with coins or something to that effect... i think the're waiting to develope AB's character more so that something distinct makes sense.
