  1. What else do you recommend by them? I've heard their newer material isn't as good.
  2. Oh yeah, that reminds me. Overrated Band: AC/DC. Reason They Are Overrated: Thing is, I don't even know. Every one of their songs sound the exact same, they are by no means one of the greatest classic rock bands of all time. You don't have to apologize for stating your opinion. That's the point of this thread.
  3. Overrated Album: The Jester Race by In Flames Reason it's overrated: The Jester Race, along with Dark Tranquilitie's The Gallery and At The Gates' Slaughter Of The Soul, are three incredibly influential albums, as they are the three albums that helped create melodic death metal. It was In Flames' second album, released early in their career. You're supposed to like it. I certainly don't think it's "the greatest melodic death metal album of all time", as many claim. I'd much rather listen to Whoracle, Colony, Lunar Strain or Clayman if I want my classic In Flames fix. However, I'm not denying that it's an incredible album, because it is. I just don't think it's "the greatest melodic death metal album of all time". http://youtu.be/CffJeVSAJk8
  4. Yeah, people tend to hate it because the production isn't as clean as before and Tom sounds really off-key-that, and it's noticeably more melodic then previous works. To be honest, I didn't like it at first either-but it grows on you.
  5. Underrated album: In The Unlikely Event by The Fall Of Troy Reason it's underrated: It's much more melodic and progressive then their previous works, and due to this, recieved rejection from the band's fanbase. Only two tracks on the album resemble classic The Fall Of Troy. Is it a bad album, though? No, far from it. It's actually my favorite FOT album. The Fall Of Troy was never a popular band, anyways.
  6. Obligatory Floyd post. I loved In The Unlikely Event, even though it appears to be their most hated album.
  7. Meh, I wouldn't say that. DNB is pretty popular.
  8. Correction: 1998. Now back on topic: I think Slaughter Of The Bluegrass is incredibly underrated. They take classic melodic death metal songs and turn them into beautiful bluegrass. http-~~-//youtu.be/P4-DdSGkdpo
  9. OBJECTION!!!! Spoiler'd due to cursing.
  10. Anyways, now for my contribution. Underrated: In Flames' Reroute To Remain. Ask any In Flames purist about R2R, you'll probably get punched in the face. The album that preceeded it, Clayman, was them sort of trying to break away from the melodic death metal sound they helped create, however the death metal elements were still clearly present. Reroute To Remain essentially burned what was left of classic In Flames, implementing more clean vocals and more of a shriek as opposed to a growl-essentially, "selling out". But it still had what made In Flames: the guitar melodies. It wasn't until 2004's Soundtrack To Your Escape when they truly "sold out", replacing the guitar melodies with synthesizers. But it was still a great album! 2006's Come Clarity and all concurrent albums brought back the guitar melodies, however each new album they release contains less harsh vocals then the last. Overrated: Everything on the radio, mainstream rap music (there is good rap music.), and dubstep.
  11. I completely agree with you on the new Linkin Park thing. I found A Thousand Suns and Minutes To Midnight much more enjoyable then Meteora and Hybrid Theory. Say, have you heard their new single, Burn It Down?
  12. http://youtu.be/P3WJX1cIuY4 I learned more about Norse Mythology from this one video then I could have ever learned from school.

This thread needs more mathcore. I'm pretty sure I've already posted this about three times, but I love this song.
  16. 0/10. I can honestly say I've never seen you here before.
  17. Hello, everybody. My name is Cynic, and music is a very integral part of my life. I really don't know what I'd do without it, and I like to hear other people's opinions on music. Such as, who do you think is horribly overrated/shamefully underrated? Alternatively, which albums do you think are underrated/overrated? Here's the Urban Dictionary definitions of over/underrated: Overrated: A term used to describe something that gets more hype and credit than it's actually worth. Underrated: Something or someone that deserves much more respect than people will allow So, what albums/bands/arists/genres do you ponies think deserves more credit or gets too much credit?
  18. May Day. May-Day. MAYDAY, EVERYBODY!!!!
  19. Bipolar couch does what it wants. It's a couch that transforms into a bed. Or a bunk bed that transforms into a couch. Either way, it's the greatest thing ever.
  20. Why are record labels so Draconian? I mean, I had to fake an IP just to view a song by Canadian band Protest The Hero on YouTube because the track wasn't available in my country. I LIVE IN CANADA... >.>

  21. What is your music format of choice: digital, CD, or vinyl? For me, it's CD. I prefer to own a physical copy of an album.

I don't mind digital provided I can redownload the album I LEGALLY BOUGHT. Which is one of the many reasons I don't use iTunes.
