Definitely among my favorite movies. Doug Jones makes any movie he's in so much better. Phenomenal actor.

Mother Theresa's name will signify what is best about humanity for years to come imo.

Personally I don't see a problem with using Biblical characters-any more than there would be a problem using characters from Greek mythology, or a co-mingling of the 2. BTW I'm a Christian myself.
You may get some butt-hurt fundies who would have a problem with it-but we don't seem to have many of them on here anyway-they all think the show's based on lesbianism and witchcraft.

So glad to hear he's o.k. He's a cutie, and will be with you for many years to come. Give him a scratch behind the ears from me as well.

What a beautiful place you live in. Thanks for showing us around.

Yeah-um talking of cute mares, where's Flurry?
You know-just askin'...

Now that's a strong man. He recognized that-even though you were deceiving him, you were doing it out of compassion and concern.
I echo his statement. May God bless you and strengthen your hands in the work you've chosen.

It will be my honor to serve your will, my Queen. *bow*

Great blog entry. I initially gravitated toward Flutters for the same reasons everyone else does, but A.J is probably my favorite at this point. Glad you found strength through her example.

The cortisone shot will help long term. It will hurt for a while because of the depth of the injection, but within a week you should be virtually pain free.
Glad to hear you didn't need the surgery.

Good for you! Big step forward, not comparing yourself to others. Most people never get past it-your life will be much better for it. Well done!

We were never friends, and never even interacted afaik-however you are a poster who's presence in a thread made me stop and read it. Your approach to people seemed balanced and based in acceptance and tolerance-and I appreciated that.
I wish you the best in whatever you plan to do-but also realize that you added to this place. You don't necessarily need to interact with people on a forum like this, for them to value your presence.
Take care.

Wow-that one had slipped by me until now. Pretty typical of the schlock that was churned out for the charity stuff they did in the '80s and '90s.

Very good. Some of my favorite movies in there. Hellraiser always stood out as being one of the darker ones, and I still know every word to every song in Rocky Horror. Can't remember to pick up milk after work, but I can remember that.

Again-like so many of these, I was around when it first came out. Shaw's Indianapolis speech really added a dose of realism to the film-as did the unintended 'Theater of the mind' flavor of the earlier parts, as you said.
I did some of my growing up on the Isle Of Wight-surrounded by water. I didn't go back in the sea for at least a year after seeing Jaws.

DOTD has always been one of my favorites.

The last one alone earned the Brohoof. Jolly good show, old boy.

I will be curious to hear your take on The Langoliers. This one was an adaptation which could definitely have benefited from more use of 'The Theater Of The Mind', as opposed to the blindingly terrible CGI.
You may have surmised a slight bias on my part...

I always thought of Fluttershy as being very brave. Where it's no big deal for most of us to stand up for ourselves and others, she has to overcome a whole heap of fear before even getting to the starting gate. That takes a ton of courage.
And I agree with you about Dashie. Underneath all that bravado is a pretty insecure little filly.

There's something to be said about being the first into any fandom-you get to see how everything takes shape, and to deal with the stigma attatched to anything new that doesn't conform to pre-existing stereotypes.

I don't really have anything to add as far as the content goes-I'm just blown away by the attention to detail here. You've approached this subject like many theologians approch difficult passages in the bible. All I can say is wow.
Why I like being a... /different/ kind of "different" - being ME

That was an interesting read. I've always liked train-of-thought writing-you get so much more of the essence of the author.
It seems as though you're well balanced and on a good path. Glad to hear it, and continued success for the future.
