  1. I am best at growling, but if you need some metal vocals it would be fun to help out in any form. I am a bit rusty on my screaming after a while of not doing a lot of it, but won't take that long to train myself to do it properly again
  2. Hence why I am asking to add a option in your settings to make the play button transparent when not hovering over it. I understand not everyone would appriciate it, but having the option would have been very nice at least
  3. As you can see, the Bluenote~ with the avatar is what I imagine would be the real user, while the BlueNote account is probably some sort of glitch made as a duplicate due to the URL not being able to have the ~ sign in it.
  4. I am. I look at album art as a easy visual guide to see if something looks interesting along with genre and name, and to refind songs I have enjoyed before. Also as I said, adding the transparent/invisible play button a option would be nice, not necessarily making it the default.
  5. I so saw with the user Bluenote~ that her/his artist/user page is entirely blank even if you can clearly see a avatar in comments and such, so this makes me think using special letters like "~" in your username could potentially mess up your page link. I clicked in on her/his page and even followed it just to make sure, and yeah it comes up as a different user when looking at my "following" list compared to "followers" list. You should probably look into this so artists and users don't find themselves unable to be followed or for people to find their songs when using special letters in their name.
  6. Umm it wouldn`t be possible to keep the naming system that Feld0 wants for the actual site but do like Bandcamp and add the additional artist info in downloads though? For example, when you download the song the file would be named "Artist - Album - 01 - Song Title" but it would still be only named with song title on the site?
  7. Ah I see, I guess that is fair then. Though I did get a PM about it not being necessary from Feld0 so I thought it was not recommended
  8. So I see a number of people are doing the same mistake as I did when first uploading my tracks in that they add a prefix with their artist name to the song title. In case of covers, remixes and such I can see why (X befriends Y, X covers Y, etc. so you are sure the other artist involved get the credit they deserve), but for original songs I guess it could look messy. So basically, maybe adding a small text next to the song name entry box about avoiding prefixes for normal original songs could be an idea to avoid this and educate us first time users? Oh and I wondered, when will the next major site update be and will you make a notice in the news feed for every update by any chance?
  9. Yeah as far as I see it, as long as the song is about ponies or bronies or something related to either, or is merely inspired by any of those subjects if a instrumental, it should fit.
  10. You should make the Metal pony have a long black mane, corpse paint and batwings while also weilding a Warbeast guitar =P
  11. That could be pretty neat! I am all for it at least hehe, I recently remastered one of my tracks and it pains me I have to choose which mix to be available just in case someone prefer the original mix, so having it possible to have both mixes available without it becomming spammy would be great.
  12. Ah I see. Well thanks for the offer, will consider that then (just need to think a bit about it so I find a good way to still let people download the original mix if they prefer and such. Bandcamp is stupid and doesn't allow Mediafire links). Good to know about the music uploading too Oh and happy birthday!
  13. Ah cool, well I have been remastering one of my songs so wanted to replace the old file with the one with better audio, but I can wait until the feature is actually implemented then
  14. Compression isn't necessary a bad thing as long as it's done with care IMO. One trick is to produce it to get the sound of compression but to turn down the mastervolume by alot to prevent it from clipping. Been doing that for some of my newer tracks (though I am not the best at completely avoiding clipping on intense parts I must admit) and it works pretty well in my ears at least. Also some artists like Nine Inch Nails use the compression and clipping as an artistic statement so there is that.
  15. Basically I wondered if it would have been a good idea to be able to change the sound file (like upload a new one and replace the old one in case of WIP's, remasters, etc.) without having to delete the actual song page from the database and such? Would of course need some sort of failsafe system to not be abused by trolls and such, but think that could have been a handy feature at least. Oh and sorry for the mass uploads. All of my 3 full albums are now up so no more of those from me, don't worry lol
  16. As long as it's completely optional it sounds like a interesting idea indeed.
  17. Okay so a ultra minor thing, but I think adding a option to make the play button over the album art of songs not showing up before hovering your cursor over it could have been cool. As of now the album art next to songs is just too obscured by the play buttons when casually looking over.
  18. Yeah having a simple extended info page could work pretty well too
  19. Sorry if I am spamming up the place with feedback Either way, you know how on Bandcamp when you edit your album you come to a menu where you can edit every individual song on the album without having to load any additional pages and such? I guess it would be hard to do, but if possible it could have been a cool feature to have.
  20. Well what I mean is to have special comment boxes on WIP tracks that are especially shaped for the sake of constructive feedback basically.
  21. This is probably requested many times already so sorry about that, but I think having more cool stuff on our artist profiles would have been fun. Including but not limited to things like: -Favorite genres -Favorite bands/inspirations -Instrument skills -Extended bio -Gear and instrument info (like guitar and synth types, software used, etc.) Perhaps adding it in it's own tab like with "All Content" and "Favorites" so you won't clutter the main artist page with it.
  22. I saw some discussions about WIP songs on the boards and I thought maybe having a own place to upload WIP tracks and implement a easy to use constructive criticism feedback feature to it could have been a cool idea.
  23. Might I recommend adding different options for site designs if possible? One that is as now, one that is more clean with less info on the front page, etc. etc. and let everyone just use whatever they prefer
  24. Just wanted to pop in and say that if you need any judges for more Experimental and Metal stuff I would be happy to help with that. I know I am not very well known yet so not sure if you would be interested in having someone unknown on the judge panel, but if there is any way I can proove myself I would be happy to help.
  25. Ohai, I guess I should make a post here since I started posting some music yesterday. I am Nightmare Lyre, a percussionist from the land of Skyri... erm Norway. I joined the fandom a month before the Season 2 opening and have stayed ever since. My music is heavly based around genre mixing and experimentation, and I even made my own little genre called Lightshred (which is a mix of Power Metal, Prog, Orchestral, Thrash Metal, Electronic and using an Ukulele as a lead instrument) that I base a lot of my songs around. My philosophy is that I basically make whatever I feel like at the moment and I love jumping between all sorts of genres from time to time though =P
