    Haha don't feel bad, that happens all the time over there. But want I would've done, is to grab your parents (not literaly) and tell them about the show and fandom. Show them some good art, fics etc, you get my point. Maybe you can even show them an episode if they are cool with it! Just don't get pissed at them, that will just mess up things even more. Trust me, I've been there myself.
