Many countries survived many hits, but I bet that not many survived as many hits as mine. Inner revolutions, being conquered by the english and the french in the same century, etc...

Well, as much as I don't like this place, it has some good things. From a cultural level, it has some of the modt important symbols of all history.

That's one f the disadvantages of being born in a country that's hailed for centuries. Along with untold glory and thrive comes humilliating and bitter defeat, for whilst you mention the defeats of Spain, you disregard the hundreds of years of absolute magnificence. Come on, the Spanish Empire wasn't something to fool around with.
