    I'll add this one in tomorrows post then. :)

    As for how she'd find out, I'd say the easiest route is the best: That necklace that Ruby's so fond off? Sure looks like a nice personal item to have. A real shame if say, someone were to try and lure that away from her, it opened up, and the truth were revealed, even if briefly. :3

    @Pastel-chan

    Looks good. Can't wait to see where this is going to go. :D

    @Widdershins

    I'm not a native English speaker no, but I use most of my time communicating in English due to forum RP's, and games like WoW, so English comes fairly easy to me (except for punctuation. That messes up at times). Fire off as long winded posts as you'd like. :)

    Let me try an edit then.

    18 minutes ago, Catpone Cerberus said:

    "Heeey, there's a sight for sore eyes. Come on over my scaled friend, there's room enough to work with. Can I pour you a cup?"

    Snuzzle grinned widely at the dragoness, raising up the bottle of *relaxant* that she had been chugging now and again herself. Surely this one wouldn't mind having a drink with her, eh? Even if they were opposing elements, this here were neutral ground. And just lookit that, she were coming over alright. This were gonna be great.

    The barkeep poured a cup of the silvery liquid and pushed it towards the newcomer, yet the one in question didn't even give it a slight glance. She just went right past, got up close so that Snuzzle couldn't avoid seeing her, and in a low tone - as to avoid others snooping in on their conversation - would say: "I can smell what's in this from across the room, and neither I -"

    She'd then push the drink back towards the barkeep with the tip of her webbed claw, whilst not breaking eye contact for as much as a blink.

    "- nor you, need this. We're better than that."

    With that - and a brief look of worry towards the unfazed wind dragon - the newcomer would turn around and scout out the room to see what were to be dealt with tonight. Whilst she had love for her own kind, and worried when she saw them do things like this, these lesser races were but prey, and she needed to seek out the one lacking behind, easy to snatch away.

    Not to feast on them of course. She were a dragon of the Dragon Isle's after all, and their laws strictly forbade eating ponies. No, her target were more towards valuables, though raw coin were rarely her tender of choice. No, she preferred personal items, so that she might feel she took something important, that they should feel ashamed to lose. What was a few bits to one of these? Nothing. But a ring, lost because they thought of straying from the path, or gamble a symbol of some significance away? Now, that held a value beyond mere bits, and she reveled in knowing her collection had a touch of personality to it.

    Tried another angle here. She hunts for things too, have an attitude and a point in being a bit blunt, but are less of a bully, and are actually worried about Snuzzle, as she sees this mind dulling the barkeep takes part in as toning herself down for the sake of fitting in among others, which their kind shouldn't be doing.

    Something like this is better? :)

    I think I get it. Let me try a snippet of dialogue here, and see if that fits what you had in mind.

She just went right past, got up close so that Snuzzle couldn't avoid seeing her, and very slowly - as if she were speaking to a child - would say: "Let me put this in a way that even your dulled mind should get: I am an adult -"

    She'd then push the drink back towards the barkeep with the tip of her webbed claw, whilst not breaking eye contact for as much as a blink.

    "- I don't need a bottle."

    With that, she'd turn and ignore Snuzzle from that point forth, having made her point clear about thinking that this drink of hers were something that only a child who couldn't control themselves when they had to, were going to need.

    Something along those lines? Bit of an attitude, not going straight in to punch someone as the first option, and the sort who doesn't take kindly to foolishness like this, much like with Ruby, far as I recall.

  4. Sorry for the short replies today. A bit of a busy day today, and I'm not feeling too good either, so it were what I could muster. Hope it's okay. :)

    I say go for it. It'd provide some fun layers to Ruby, instead of being mostly *Grrr, grumpy. Feed me shinies* :P

    Added you in the post Widders, so that you could follow along and be ready for when they eventually get to where your char is. :)

    As for the post itself, hope it is okay Pastel. Not feeling too hot today, so it's what I were able to wring out of my head space. Hopefully sets up a fine enough scene for you to react on. :D

    "...Maybe. I suppose long as you do not harm others, they may be lenient, and your forms seems stable. Things could be okay."

    A little gloomy still, but he were starting to feel better, as the spires of Canterlot got nearer. Perhaps once they arrived, he'd be at his full senses, and able to help speak Atzy's case. She'd likely need some sort of character witness to strenghten the argument for not going after her, and right now, Karmic and Enzo were all she got. Hopefully it would be enough.

    ============================================================================

    @Sekel

    Last would both point at the map and give precise coordinates to the start of the mountain path, on the other side of the valley exit her and the other Shrine Maidens had used. That way, they could follow it from the start, get up top of the path to get a look over the canyon and valley, and then if it loked fine, wander down towards the shrine.

    As for Cherish, she just looked on up until she were addressed by Twilight, and then curiously looked at the broken off part of the old castle.

    "No, I just picked this out of the rubble. Do you think they mean something?"

    Would be surprising, seeing as it were just from some statue, but who knew? Perhaps her presence linked to it had carved these in somehow, or it had a hidden purpose long ago, when the statue it were part of were still standing around the old castle.

    ============================================================================

    @Sekel

    "I have never experienced this before. We don't live near any volcano, and the wyrms haven't been in this area for decades, so it shouldn't be them digging through the area. It's a peculiar myst-"

    He didn't get through the sentence before another rumble happened, and the rock in front of them split open to reveal a pillar of diamond bursting up through them, likely accounting for the rumbling they heard before.

    Said diamond then also split open, revealing a gemling drone with a spiky, diamond mane, and a left eye of solid diamond, which still seemed to be functional as the elongated gemling with the sharp legs focused on the tallest one among them, thinking this to be the leader of this hive. Currently, that being Aurora.

    "You must be the leader. My queen would like to meet a regular changeling hive of the new age, and yours seem large. It must be an important one."

    Seemed like Dia'thiz were not wasting time, sending out scouts to make contact.

    ============================================================================

    @Catpone Cerberus

    Marley knew well that he would get a solid rage eye for the equine comment, but it still seemed well worth it to him. She were not shy of hitting him with her own little stabs either, so it were only fair, and she would undoubtedly say something relatively soon again to poke at him. Such were it to be around Ruby, and really, it were not so bad, once you got used to it. In fact, she already hit a rather solid backlash, soon as it were only him that could hear her again.

    "You know that I only jest, Ruby. I would never think you to be a believer in such a controversial topic as whatever or not friendship is a valuable factor, though if it helps, I do apologize if I went too far with that one. I wouldn't want to invoke your ire too badly, lest you make true of your threat."

    ==========================================================

    @Catpone Cerberus

    "Sounds reasonable."

    Nerzhei bent down and picked up a couple of berries to chew on as Lotus returned. She did not eat much of this sort of thing, but some variety in her diet were not bad to take into consideration, and she might as well take advantage of this, long as they were still in season. Winter would eventually come, and then things like this would be a distant memory for a while.

    "Pray tell though, if things do end up well, and the past is put behind all of you, have you found any sort of residency? I've been told that something can be made available in town, provided you take care of building your settlement upon the offered piece of land yourself, and I'm plenty capable to conjure up a stone structure or some bricks if need be. Might be you'd need some help with that, yes?"

    "The first approach as a spy is rarely to engage in open combat. Soon as one is discovered laying about unconscious, questions starts to get asked and things get put in high alert. It makes it harder to be stealthy most of the time, unless you're trying to use the distraction for a quick grab and run, or perhaps take the place of another guard and uses the attack as a way to infiltrate the ones trying to protect their quarry.

    Yet accidents and a need for quick action does happen, and in that case, it's best to be prepared.

    I have a certain affinity for traps myself too. Might I ask, what sort are the longma mostly using? I prefer trip wire and various knockout gasses personally."

    They could use a bit of a break before he went on to the other techniques he could show them too anyway, so Rosa had no issue with them talking about things like traps and how the longma dealt with things for a while. Tomorrow were still some ways off anyway.

    "I understand. We all have sides to ourselves that we are not proud off- Some more than others, and I for one am not one to judge you for yours being more dangerous than most's to show to others. It would make me a hypocrite, seeing how much I try to distance myself from the darkness that lies within myself as well."

    Perhaps this were why she got along so well with this one. Not only that he were understanding, respectful, and didn't try to flaunt some moral superiority over her, but also that he had similar issues as her. His were a side that became nasty and possibly would set others on fire if it were let out, and in her case, it were the desperate attempt to try and cling on to acting and living like a pony, whilst being fully aware that she were around half demon at this point. A half that even if she were getting more and more corrupt with every need to reassemble herself, she refused to act the part of. Demon mare or not, she wouldn't sink to their level, just as Clever would not give in to the darkness within him.

    "I can show you, but I will need a vessel to focus the magic into, and you to keep an open mind. Quite literally, as the memories will need to be replicated from your head, and when it is done to another, rather than on yourself, it can become... Problematic, if the one with the memories tries to resist."

    She'd explain the details rather than show, unless he wanted her to show, which in either case included some runework, telepathy, and a bit of blood. The last of which representing a school of magic often looked down upon, but Vivid had found it useful even in good ways quite a lot of times, and for spells like this, it could the longevity of said spell with your own life. So long as she lived, the spell would, and when she perished it'd go up in flames too. She did have an extra caveat on it, in case she actually did die and started to work on getting back again, but that were unimportant details.

    "Vauw. I really gotta go on a vacation someday and go see them. It sounds like they're mighty impressive."

    Y'know, if the breezie wasn't pulled her leg on this too, but worst case scenario, she'd still be on vacation with plenty of things to see. Didn't seem all that bad to her.

    "I think Thunder said he got into an accident? Looks like it might've been a bit serious, but at least the wing's just broken. Could've been way worse, and I've heard about pegasi without wings. Poor things just sound so depressed in all the stories."

    "Hiss"

    "Eeeek!"

    An orange colt with a small yellow mohawk stumbled backwards in the cafeteria, away from the bat pony filly with the spread out wings, standing in front of a smaller, shy filly that seemed to huddle behind her, up until the colt had gotten completely out of the room, and Jelly folded her wings back in, whilst shutting her muzzle and easing up her combat stance.

    "Hehe, that's one less meanie after you. Just come get me if he tries something again, okay?"

    She wasn't actually going to attack the bully for going after this one, but standing like she had, with her wings spread and hissing, made others thing she might be dangerous. It was a really easy scare tactic for meanies that didn't actually hurt anypony, and it helped small ones like this filly, whom he had being going after.

    "T-Thank you."

    "Hehe, just like daddy says: Always help if you can."

    The filly scurried along to her other friends, whilst Jelly grabbed her lunch tray and went over to a corner table were nopony sat. it wasn't that she didn't want to mingle, but the others were chock full, so she couldn't even try to get over and chat with anypony. Not that a whole lot wanted to normally. Bat ponies weren't a normal sight for other fillies as they tended to be in their own night schools, and yet here were Jelly, dressed in her best vest and attending during the daytime. She were an outsider, and those sorts didn't tend to have a lot of others who wanted to be around them.

    The Consul nodded, "Of course. You ought to rest too, I'm honestly surprised she lasted as long as she did, given all that's happened."

    "Null is v-very stubborn. It's n-not unusual for h-her to go at s-something until she c-collapses, because s-she refuses to w-wait."

    This had often been seen in things like when Null had to work on a new leg for Void, were tracking someone or something of importance, or just in general, when they were in more than usual hostile territory, and she felt like slowing down and taking a rest left them exposed for too long. It wasn't healthy, but this were thankfully when the size difference between them came in handy, as Void could just sling her sister up on her back and be on her way. Null didn't weigh much after all, and she were a strong mare. It was rather easy.

    This were also the reason why - whilst she appreciated the effort from their father - she decided to just carry Null herself, after placing her up on her back. The little extra weight from the wing were negligeble, and frankly not something she bit notice in unless she really focused on it. She got more of a pressure from when Null rode her and stood up on her back to have some height advantage to work with, and even that weren't something that really bothered Void. It were akin to carrying a slightly uncomfortable hat. You got used to it fast.

    As she went on towards the room that they had used a few times by now, just them and no strangers clogging their immediate area, she let out a shaky sigh of relief, freeing her of a worry that she felt like she had carried since the whole operation started, and hadn't been able to shake off.

    "I can't believe it actually worked... I know you said the Consul were trustworthy, but this was a big thing, and it really hurt big sis in the past whenever she tried something, and it failed. Thank whatever gods might listen, that it seems to have worked. Now it's just trying to make her believe in it herself."

    Meanwhile, inside the mind of said unconscious mare, Null were currently being faced with more weird creatures in her head. In particular, a rather weird, seemingly emotionless thing with a name that rang a bell, since Void had talked about how she had caused someone named that to be taken over by Sergeant Pain, or whatever the manipulative freak were called from a few days ago. Frankly been a lot going on, and she wasn't sure if she even remembered his name right anymore. Perhaps another time when she wasn't being thrown around like a pinball, she'd be able to just sit down, and really get a good grip on every part of this story, but whatever. Likely weren't gonna happen until she were dead, seeing how Troy were so far. Honestly wouldn't surprise her if soon as she woke up again, someone would come in, and tell them that they needed to come help with a hydra, or that there building they were in were on fire, or that they had died three years ago. Something just always seemed to happen around here to clutter up things.

    Urgh, must be what the locals in Ponyville felt like sometimes back in the day...

    Of course, wasn't just the crystal pony with the name of a metal pony (seriously, Troy were weird), but also Nine, who were going off about how hard it apparently were to keep her alive. Always nice to come around and hear her dazzling ray of gloomshine dimming down her day. Where were there a mental sock to shove in his muzzle when she needed it? For it being her own head, it sure felt lacking in her having a lot of control over it.

    *sigh* Whatever. She'd deal with him later. Best just get this crystal replica's request over with. Sure it might be a trap, but she had gone this far. Might as well plummet right over the edge.

    Felt like she had done so for sure, once she grabbed the outstretched hoof, and her brain got assaulted with flight knowledge. Down the line when she had the chance to really think on it, it were some good, appreciated stuff, but right here in the moment, it felt like she had just broken down a dam, and were being overtaken by the roaring waters just crashing over her. Minus the drowning and sensation of being bashed around the lake itself that were, so there were at least those *wonderful* experiences that wasn't part off the package right now.

    It were pretty weird though, the few times she could focus on specifics between all of this, as if she didn't know better, it looked like... Hay, it Were, Princess Luna, reflected on various surfaces in these memories. So now she had either overtaken or gotten a copy of some of the mind of a darn Princess? How in the world had they even gotten this in the first place? Weren't she supposed to not work with Troy out of loyalty to her sister? And yet, Serena and the Silver sliver had her memories?

    On 2/2/2020 at 5:05 AM, Illiad Easle said:

    "These memories should help speed along your physical recovery, and make up for lost time that you could have been training. Illiad offers a message as well, 'With this gift, I am satisfied that the debt owed to you by Troy is fully repaid, you owe and are owed nothing by this nation, and are free to remain so long as it pleases you.'" Message delivered, Silver nodded and turned away. "I'm not alive in the technical sense, but I can be summoned if you need something, and I'll use the limited knowledge I have to assist."

    "...Okay, one thing at a time here. I'll get back to you and where the hay you nicked these memories from another time. Nine?"

    She looked around as the pony faded out, just as he started to speak up himself. So great, now she had the stuff he said before to deal with, along with this. Just amazing...

    On 2/2/2020 at 5:05 AM, Illiad Easle said:

    "I hope I don't impose, but I thought I'd offer, I could move most of my mass into the new wing, fill in the diamond feathers. With practice I could maybe be more useful in the outside world, but at the very least I could make the feathers black like the other." It moved as if to shrug, "It's up to you of course, bound as I am I can't go anywhere without your approval."

    "Fine, fine, go ahead, but the first time I get an inkling you're trying to do something, I'm putting you on whatever the mental equivalent of toilet duty is. Soon as I figure out what that is.

    And for the record, I were doing pretty well back at the gates, bucko. I would've died years ago if a crazy guy with a bat could get the better of me, and I didn't have you in here back then. You mind filling me in on what you think you did there? And on this whole wing thing, since I'm still not convinced this whole mess is real. Ain't seen any definitive proof of anything yet."

    Sure, Nine had lied and tried to get her killed several times apparently, but who else had she to ask insight from right now? Void? She loved her sister, but Void wouldn't know the tech on this any better than her, and as such, couldn't say if the whole thing wasn't just a decoration of sorts, rather than anything tangible, whilst Nine apparently had some sort of insight into certain things.

    Also, she were in her own head right now and the only other one she could technically ask, were a lifeless construct that had just bashed the memories of a millennia old alicorn into her head, and were working for a part of the Consul's inner circle. It wasn't exactly the dream team, so she had to work with what she got, and then see if Nine had some words of encouragement, or perhaps discouragement, if he went on to say this were a hoax.

    As said, just go ahead and smash up some buildings, just don't have anyone killed. I have a plan to get it all sorted again, and that will include you someone to eat, as you mentioned one of them seeing ponies as food. Don't worry, I got... Plans.

    And I'll work on getting them into the police station for a start, then take it from there. I can see one already who'll be brought in on assault charges, so that one's easy. :P Just need to knock him out. Might be time for Stargazer's special move: Using a medal on his belt with a loose pin as a sort of hard thrown rock. :D

  8. @Sekel

    "Perhaps you need to shave them, like I must preen my feathers."

    Enzo did not sound all that thrilled or enthused about things yet. It would take him a bit longer before the calm flight managed to clear the clouds from his mind, though still, he could give his input on how things might be working with Atzy. Even if it were little more than guesswork.

    "It is the best guess I might have, beyond you simply needing to get used to the sound. These gemlings whom you are now part of, are new creations upon this world, so most of what you will need to know is likely something you cannot find answers for, but must discover on your own.

    I imagine that one day, your own gemlings will look to you for the same answers, and it will be up to you to have them.

    *sigh* Or I am wrong, and there are others who knows what it is like. I know so little of what is out there, that your guess may be better than mine."

    Perhaps he should just focus on the flight for now, and let them speak of their worries between themselves. When he had no answers to give them, what good were he anyway, beyond just transporting them to where they had to go?

    At least the flight were pleasant. One of many things he had missed in the temple when he were enslaved there, were the feeling of wind under his feathers, and just the ability to fly in general. Being in the air again were kind of comforting the times when he could do it now, even in the situations were things seemed down or serious.

    ============================================================================

    @Sekel

    "The trail. Stopping at the graveyard, we would end in the middle of a potential warzone. If we take the trail, we might need to clear some of it, but it would give us an overview once we get past the peak point. In case the temple is overrun, we can be prepared."

    It were going to be slower, but the the smart solution were rarely to go go straight into things and don't think of the consequences. As she had seen during most of her life, those who were too reckless and didn't know when to hold back and when to strike, didn't tend to last long on the battlefield, and this situation were much the same as those times.

    The shrine were left behind by them, which meant there were no longer a guarantee of a safe haven, and it might well be invaded by monsters. Going too close there, could mean they got into a trap they wouldn't have the time to escape from, whereas getting an overview first would let them get a better understanding of what they were going into in advance. Considering she had a princess to protect, Last certainly knew which one she'd prefer.

    ============================================================================

    @Sekel

    Thorax nodded to what Aurora brought up. A fair assessment really, as Onache might well have expected results to some degree not too long after these two had set their sight on his hive. She had been a rather impatient one in his experience, so it'd fit her well to be like that. Reformed or not, some things never changed.

    "I suppose you're right. It might be time for you to return and tell her that I'll accept meeting on neutral ground, though be advised that I will bring some guards. She's stronger than me and she well knows it, so I'm sure she'll understand why I'd want to be cautious."

    "I'm sure it'll be fine. I'll pass along to her about the suggested spot we'd meet up, and-"

    Happy were interrupted as the ground below them started to shake, now more noticeable than before, even if it wasn't the sort of thing that made you think of a large tremor about to start. A small one maybe, but not something that'd require an evacuation.

    "... I'll send an enthralled pigeon or something with a response. Seriously, what's going on here?"

    "I don't know. It's never rumbled this much in all the time I've been here. Perhaps it's best that I send some words out for the others on a lower floor to look into this. In the meantime, I'll escort you out."

    Stopping briefly with his eyes closed, Thorax send some telepathic words out to some of the changelings in his hive to look into this, and let him know when they figured out what were going on, as well as asking a few guards to go to the nursery, just in case they'd need to evacuate the nymphs and eggs in a hurry.

    Afterwards, he'd open the door and start to lead his guests out the same way they came in. There'd stil be around half the guards from before, escorting their king, and eyes still followed them from above and inside the rooms in the walls, but they weren't approached or talked to for now.

    ============================================================================

    @EQ_Theta

    So Lin had maintained her grip then? Most impressive, though it wouldn't him down. It merely worked as another option to teach something here, though he should probably speak more than actually do this one, as this were bound to hurt Lin if he went through with it.

    "I'm impressed that you can still keep a tight grip in me, even after that. And since it sounds as if you have understood the base principle of the technique as well during this, you have not lost your focus and are actively learning from your own assault. I know some veteran spies who could not claim to do the same.

    Now then, hold on, and pay attention both of you, as I will explain what to do in a situation like this, were the one doing the headlock is still holding on tightly.

    If you find yourself in a situation like this, hope isn't out for you, but you'd need to act swiftly, before the one pinning you down gets their bearings, and realise there is a certain disadvantage to having their body pressed against the ground. Mainly that you can do this:"

    He'd rise his back legs, bend them, and then stomp down in a slow motion to avoid actually doing something too drastic. Considering his hooves made contact to Lin's legs, she'd probably understand, and appreciate that he hadn't gone through with it.

    "I know it may seem drastic, but when you are being held in a headlock, it is unlikely that the one doing it have your best interests at heart, and as such, you need to think of yourself first.

    This method is crude and might end up in broken legs, but applied correctly, it should only cause immediate pain and some bruising and swelling later on, whilst leaving you free. Do not try and do it whilst standing up though, or you risk sweeping their legs away under them, and causing them to fall on top of you instead."

    This weren't beginner tier moved he were showing them, as they were going to need practise and time to get things done properly, and have it applied to easy muscle memory to avoid doing something too violently, but he could at least show them how to start, if nothing else. Besides, it would be worse if he started off showing them how to use his tools, such as the wire or knives. The outcome of using those incorrectly were pretty severe, and he did not wish to have them burdened with an accident coming from inexperience.

    "So, how does it feel to have a little window into the sort of training I went through in school, between the regular courses like math and history? Is it as riveting as you imagined?"

    He were joking of course, but what else were he going to do? He were pinned to the floor, even if he were on top of Lun, her still having her grip in him meant that she still technically held some degree of control here, unless he were willing to hurt her. Something which Rosa most certainly were not.

    @Rising Dusk

    Thankfully, Lily hadn't bitten notice in what were gojng on in Harrrowmark until it were too late. When she looked down, all she could see were thw party moving on down the road, seemingly without anything of note haven happened.

    She did however, see that Thistle had changed some, even from a distance. Subtle as it were, Lily were one who took notice of the small things more often than not. A valuable trait when working for Twisted, as he did not take kindly to missed opportunities, or details that might be important. Gods be willing, she'd never have to deal with that again.

    "Hmph, it seems as if her connection to Viz'nay is growing stronger. I suppose it were only a matter of time, now that her herald is free to spread the word again."

    it were more of a hypothesis than a fact, but Lily had at times wondered if the peasant-like representation the priestess had shown off, were less of how she were actually represented back in her time, or if it wasn't connected to how much her goddess' power were at. Weakened and clonging on just to keep Suusha contained, Thistle had reverted to a more powerless version, perhaps more representative of how she had once looked in life. But with Viz'nay's power growing, it started to seem that perhaps it were influencing Thistle too, and empowering her towards something else. What she weren't sure, but something told her that it wouldn't be too long before they found out, considering how little time it had taken so far.

    "I can imagine that the culture shock you felt at the banquet I assume were held in your honor, is going to pale before that your officials will feel once they go there and are faced with what she will become. It might just be a wardrobe change. Might not. Both cases, seeing a ghost in a prominent position is not something I take this country would know how to deal with at first. Your dead likely stay silent in their graves, most of the time."

    Just as in Harrowmark you risked the dead actually not rising, so too must Equestria have some that couldn't or wouldn't move on. It seemed logical at least, even if it would probably be a pretty small amount, and rarely the result of magic, as much as just unfinished business. Souls were very fickle things at times.

    As she wre looking around ar the area after thag, whilst finishing her meal, she couldn't help but bite notice in the fancy carriage that had shown up not far from them. Seemed like a thing fit for a royal creature, with that pompous, exaggerated butler/bodyguard type strapped in front of it, and she quite honestly just waited for the door to swing open to reveal someone just oozing of wealth and ego. Urgh, the thought alone...

    Imagine her surprise when Rising then rose up, threw the garbage from his dinner in a trash can, and started to walk towards it after saying that it were time for them to get to their ride. Something which apparently were not one holding behind this, but rather the careiage in question, as the door opened to him and made way for the luxurious interior to be presented, and seemingly await both of them.

    Even the queen of Harrowmark herself had not these kinds of extravagant travel arrangements (far as she knew) and yet here were an officer of the law, able to call on that sort of thing? What strange world did Equestria exist in, where that sort of thing were possible?

    After a small delay, Lily would rise up, throw the remaining hayfries and the fifth of a burger she had left in the trash, and moved towards the officer. Her appetite were sated enough for now, and this didn't seem like the sort of carriage you ate in, so she might as well discard the leftovers.

    "It's... Extravagant. Why is this not in service to some kind of royalty, instead of used by commoners? Have they even more opulent transports?"

    ============================================================================

    @Catpone Cerberus

    "See? That's the spirit. You're getting some coin, I get paid extra by the family to point you that way, and he gets a lesson he won't soon forget. No one loses. Except for him, but who cares, right?"

    The mark wasn't important, unless it were someone who deserved some sort of pity, like a father who had just hit some rough times and figured his day were finally turning around. Some egotistical money flaunderer though? Nah, let him have a taste of karma. Served him right.

    Marley would return shortly after this, looking like he had prepared himself for a ball of sorts, and deposited a few feathers in a nearby trash can, that he had been preening off to make himself appear as ready as could be.

    "Someone's hoping to score, heh."

    "I would certainly not mind it, but we shall see what will happen. I am as prepared now as my limited time have allowed me to.

    Mind me asking if things have gone well here?"

    "Yessire. Given her the details, and she's all giddy at the thought of blanking off someone who deserves it. Hehe, a bit of a rough start, but we're getting all chummy now."

    Marley smiled amused at the notion, knowing full well that Ruby could quite literally eat this dragon, and not feel a thing about it. An observation clearly lost on the bar owner.

    "It is good to hear that you're making friends, Ruby. As you equines keep telling me, life is a wonderful thing with the magic of friendship."

    The dragoness snorted a little, laughing at that sentence. Equines and their silly little sayings were just adorable at times.

    "Yeah, truly is magical. Gotta go check if the front's ready though  so I have to leave you behind a bit, but don't you worry, I'll be back, chum and glum."

    With that, Snuzzle would head for the back and through a door in the side, leaving her access to whatever were going on up there. Probably for the best too, before Ruby did something she wouldn't regret, such as testing if a wind dragon were more flammable than her bar.

    ============================================================================

    @Catpone Cerberus

    "A reasonable outlook, though I have seen how ponies have evolved on their own to become the dominant species in countries such as Equestria. I wouldn't be so sure that their luck would run out that easily, though I could be wrong. I'm dragon enough to admit that my theory on this is mostly a guess."

    "Nature changes, and with it, so does the natural order. I could imagine that one day, a race would come along and take them away from their leading position, as it is with many a predator who suddenly finds something evolved to hunt them down, and make them their prey. Though these changes may yet be millennia away. Evolution is a slow process, and when it happens, I hope that the equines will have done so too. Those I have met are kind creatures, whom I wish nothing bad towards."

    Lyriel understood that Nada had good reason for her grievances with the ponies. Yet she herself, had not had the same experience, and wished to believe in the best of others, so she hoped that the thousand years of Nada's absence had resulted in a better breed of ponies to arise than those in her day. The poor thing had suffered enough at the hooves of those in the past, without having to fear those of this new age as well. Earth Mother be willing, her days of hiding from prying eyes would soon be over.

    Whilst all of this talking went on, Lotus had jumped down from Nerzhei and wandered over to a bush to pick some blueberries that she munched down on.  There were plenty enough to share in this, or any of the other nearby bushes carrying these fruits, if anyone else felt peckish, so they could just have a go at it if that were their want. If not, Lotus would soon be back and jumping up her dragon again, now with a distinct blue hue around her mouth, and a satisfied look over her fuzzy little face. At least someone here were enjoying themselves.

  9. @Illiad Easle

    Sounds really good mate. I wonder though if Nine is going to have some choice words when Silver comes around though, seeing as he's still stuck in there too. Might be he have something to say about the extra, albeit soulless company added to the mixture.

    Anyway, I'm in favor of the time skip, and I can add to the post after that what they have done in the time away, which would mostly be them talking, and Null getting to terms with the situation. Also  Void fixing up a temporary shop for glass work, and making a new eye.

    Null having a chat with her family about the potential deal with Vengeance is something that should probably be dealt with too in that time. Could be off screen, and they're still talking it through, as it's a rather big deal. It'd weigh on her mind.

    Something to mention about the current post. I had some trouble getting it out, but baseline is that the only response I could think of for Null's response wouldn't be overt joy. It just made more sense for me that she wouldn't be able to believe ehat were going on, and actually cope with something like this actually happening to her. This long, it would seem like a dream she hunted, but never actually thought she'd get.

    Anyway  got a little messy, so hope it went through. Post really didn't want to get out.

    Also, thanks for the comment about the cupholder remark. I dunno why, but for some reason, I just see Null as being more sarcastic the less angry she gets.

    On the other, her new wing was moving almost perfectly in sync with her natural one, and the longer she flapped the closer to synchronicity it got.

    "...Huh."

    Null didn't seem fazed at first when this were revealed. She just kept on flapping slowly away, as the wings started to synchronise a little better with every flap.

    It wasn't that she had no feelings or reactions about what she were seeing though. Rather, it had mentally tripped her up so badly that she had essentially shortened out, and ended up running on autopilot while her brain tried to gather itself again.

    Were it any wonder that this affected her so profoundly though? She had spent over twenty years now, without a second wing, looking at nothing but a stump that functioned as a grim reminder of her life being taken away. And then now, all of a sudden, there it were. A special, shimmering wing with diamond in the design, flapping along with her other one, and seemingly giving off an illusion of sorts that made it seem as if she had never lost a wing in the first place.

    If were beautiful and life changing... And she had no idea how to respond to it. She just felt dumbfounded and numb, as she did what she were told without a hint of emotion or complaint, though she seemed somewhat reluctant to stop flapping when asked to. A guiding hoof helping her along though, and they went down without issues, and her just looking at the false one settling down.

    On 1/31/2020 at 2:00 AM, Illiad Easle said:

    The changeling would stop her before she pulled them fully in for Vale to make a minor adjustment, loosening a joint slightly so the new wing could fully retract. Null might notice that she could feel the adjustment being made, as if Vale were massaging the joint in question.

    It felt like small jolts were going through her every time the joints were moved, and a feeling she hadn't felt from that side of her body for most of her life surged through her.

    A thought roamed through her head and added to her mental struggles, as these old feelings returned. Of how this all seemed so unreal and impossible. Like this were a dream that as soon as she got her mind in check and she focused on it, would fade away, and she'd just be back to the grim, gloomy reality, where the operation would have failed, and she were still bound to the ground for the rest of her miserable life.

    Yet, as this thought made her reluctant to try and get herself in check, another part of her struggled to do the oppsite. The hope that - despite her violent, negative reaction at the time - had been planted by the Consul when he first told them that he could help her with this  and were now a driving force in trying to convince her that there were nothing to be afraid of here.  For once, everything were fine, and she had gotten what had been lost for so long, just like Illiad had promised.

    On 1/31/2020 at 2:00 AM, Illiad Easle said:

    "Now, the full procedure has one more step. I know it's been quite some time since you've last flown, and as such will need some physical therapy to get you back on track, you'll need some rest, you're welcome to continue using the room you two have been until the new residence for your parents is finalized in a few days."

    Null wasn't listening to what the Consul were saying at this point. Mainly because she were currently passed out on the floor.

    She had seemed fairly okay before they started on this, yet that were born more out of stubborness than anything else, as fact of the matter remained that this had been a pretty long, hectic day. First going to the gravefield,  then to Tartarus and going through all the fightjng and emotional downs that came from that, then straight home and up here  where she were drugged up and more or less pinned down... Null were just thoroughly spent, and the distress she were in mentally as she tried to get accustomed to something good happening to her had not helped, so about halfway through what Illiad were talking about, she just went out like a light and fell sleeping to the floor.

    Void would be the first over there, as she had been prepared to restrain Null, depending on how she would have reactes to all of this, as she hadn't exactly expected her to suddenly jump around with a smile as big and joyful as Pinkie Pie. Null wasn't like that, and though it caused her some distress to see her sister knocked out from a mixture of the long day, mental ups and downs, and the drugs, she would have to admit that it were likely the best outcome, all things considered. It would give them some time to help her through this under more isolated terms, with only those whom she cared for present.

    "It's o-okay, she's just s-sleeping."

    She rose her head and looked at the strangers who had made this possible. From the doctor to Serena and Illiad, with halfdried tears down her good eye, and a small smile that refused to flee her muzzle.

    "Thank you, a-all of you. It's g-going to take her time to a-accept this, but I'll m-make sure that w-when she does, she'll b-be there for her p-physical therapy, and p-pass on what you said, C-Consul."

    Null owed them all thanks for what they had done for her, but Void were likely the happiest right now here. She had seen the sister who had done everything she could for her, being in constant pain and getting progressively more and more miserable over the years, whenever she looked up or at her stump, and saw what had been taken from her. Even if it weren't the only thing that caused her this pain, Void knew that it were a substantial part of it, and it had seemingly been something that could never be restored.

    And yet now, after over two decades, the loop were broken. It might take time since she needed training, and before that had to give her wing a few days of rest to make sure the sprain didn't get worse, but flight weren't a far fetched dream anymore. It were tangible, and something that were just going to take hard work. If Void had to say something that Null were particularly good at, it were hard work.

    "If i-it's okay, I'd l-like to take you u-up on your o-offer, Consul. I can c-carry her to the room, if t-that's okay? I think that w-when she wakes up  she n-needs help getting t-through this, and I know her. She d-does these things b-better when it's just the t-two of us."

    Alright, A building ain't that bad, and there's a few there that have seen better days, or are harsly lived in. Try to destroy the house Stargazer and Jelly lives in if you want some fun. Neither came to Ponyville with much personal stuff, and Stargazer is getting used to Ponyville just making his time there a real trying experience. Plus, the station/home he were trying to work with isn't all that good. Last minute alternative that wee meant to be replaced in the long run.

    Don't eat the foals!

    "Yeah! Add some ranch first."

    Stay out of this.

    Anyway... A bit of destruction is fine enough, just no mass scale devastation at least. Please? Or... Actually, nevermind, I know how to fix it quickly if there's things ruined. Just try not to let the streets flow red.

    @Widdershins @Pastel-chan

    I'll start up things during my reply tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how every part of this madness will go.

    Beware though, Pastel. Widders might actually have your character eaten. He's an uhm... Unpredictable element at times. He sorta grows on you though. Like moss. :P

  12. @Widdershins

    Been part of Stargazer's bio since the beginning mate. An orphanage foal who never got adopted for long, and felt abandoned, lashing out against society, until all his pety crimes (mostly just vandalism and nicking a few minor stuff. Nothing serious) eventually landed him in a cell. One of the Night Guard officers at the time saw less of a criminal, and more of a young stallion needing discipline and a goal in life, and gave him a choice to join the guards, or stay in prison for a while.

    Stargazer haven't been a criminal in any capacity for over twenty years now, but I think it fun to include a snippet of his pre-guard days once in a while to have a but of fun. :)

    And I have several characters who never mugged anyone, I'll have you know. Briar, Brittle, Jelly, Blitz, Scarcity (she have people for that), Brute, Sugar, etc. I have too many chars to remember them all right now, heh. :D

    As for Happy, I don't think I overplay the human part, just adding some things and references that sometimes requure a bit of talking about. Though of course, gonna be a bit more on it when he's not in disguise, as he stands out like a sore thumb then. He totally mugged folks before though, if that helps. :P

    And y'know, Sunny situation dealt with fine, we're good. Still gonna implore you to not wreck the town though. We just got it fixed up, and it's all nice and... Non-wasteland'ish. :)

    As for the forest idea and finding another of your family of weirdos, that sounds fine to me. The Everfree Forest would be the closest place where one could have an adventure in Ponyville, and it might be interesting to find someone totally lost, and potentially in danger. @Pastel-chan had just the right sort of character for getting folks out of trouble after all.

    Though of course, gonna depend on whatever or not this new RP'er of ours is fine with the idea. What say you, @Pastel-chan?

  13. @Pastel-chan

    I think the most obvious would be at school. We just start during the school day, and take it from there. I can think of a few scenarios myself, with one including the cafeteria and Jelly managing to get a bit of attention for standing up to someone (she doesn't cover before bullies), but I am flexible, and can make her enter or begin at any point, so it's mostly down to what you'd prefer I'd say. :)

    So do tell, are there anything in particular you'd like for the opening scenario? Also, would you prefer to start, or should I?

    Fair warning, I post every second day, as to have time for other things in real life too (and to not burn out. The breather helps) with the next day set for Sunday. However, as I am visiting family, it might be pushed to Tuesday as Sunday might be hectic. Just so you're not wondering why I haven't posted anything after we settle on where to go. ^_^

    I'll respond to things again later here. It's time for me to rest, but I'll return in due time to cover more ground. Looking forward to how this might go. :D

  14. @Pastel-chan

    Looks perfectly fine to me, even without backstory, as her personality does tell quite a few things. Such as what she tends to do in her free time, a musical talent, and a potential infatuation with literature at least on occasion,

    Backstory at this point would mostly just be where she were and a bit on her family to cover a few things, but I think in this case, it might flow better by being something that just comes up naturally in the RP. I don't really have an issue popping an APPROVED stamp on this. :)

    And what fortune, I think I know just the char to team her up with. Meet Jelly Drop

    Q5TnoPc.png

    Batpony/pegasus filly, taking mainly from her bat pony father, and her pet spider Greg. 10 years old and just moved to Ponyville to live with her dad.

    After a recent monster attack, the school were closed for renovations, but are about to open again in the RP, and Jelly is just about ready for her first day in a new school. Which would provide a good setting for the two to meet.

    Jelly likes helping anyone who needs it, and have a natural affinity for protecting others, as both her parents are Night Guards, and she have grown up with their values (as well as some combat training taught by her father, much to her mothers dismay) so another filly who's out looking for trouble and adventure? Jelly would be drawn to it like a magnet, seeking both to protect and take part in something fun.

    For the record, the glasses are tinted to protect her eyes from the worst of the sunlight. Her eyes are sensitive, as is the case with some bat ponies, as they are naturally nocturnal.

    Anyway, my thoughts on this. If you have feedback of any kind to this, or questions, feel free to ask them. :)

  15. @Sekel

    "What brings me low have not only to do with you, though it helps some to see that you do not waste more of what little time you short lived races have in this world, to bicker and fight. It's a pointless exercise when your entire existence is such a fleeting matter in the grand tapestry of time."

    How long did an equine live? 80 or so at best? Barely any time to make a mark on the world, and yet it didn't stop them from frivolously spending that time doing things that at times just looked meaningless and wasteful to him. Perhaps it had something to do with how his own kind spent more time being educated, than ponies did going from birth to grave, though his current mood were the greatest culprit. Soon as this shadow had faded, he'd probably be able to think rationally about time spent being a matter of perspective, and that ponies did as well as they could, with the condensed time that they had. It would hardly be possible for their society to have risen to the point it were now, were they not after all.

    But this would take time to shimmer through. For the time being, Enzo visibly forced himself to get back on his paws, and though he looked about ready to just go into a cave and try to sleep this grim outlook away, he'd stand ready to get on with things, and bring them back to Canterlot. Perhaps there were a storage unit or something he could crawl into and mope around, or the flight might do him some good. They'd see, yet it were at least good that Atzy and Karmic did no longer verbally and physically fight over their previous predicament. Had to eventually help when worry, irritation, and sadness over seeing these two going at it like that, weren't present anymore. One could only hope that it'd last, and they'd try to remain on calm terms to some degree.

    "I suppose we should be on our way then. Come then."

    He'd hold a paw towards them, bottom part up, so that at the very least Karmic could get a lift up to his back again. Atzy might join that, or she might fly. Depended on her really.

    "It's kinda just what you do, Twilight. Telekinesis I think the word is?"

    She weren't much on magic study as she weren't a unicorn, but Cherish had seen enough with how they did their things throughout the year, to get that her own abilities were mostly the same as their kinds regular telekinesis, what with moving things around using your noggin. There were a few other aspects to it though, yet these she couldn't say for sure if she'd be able to make use off entirely.

    "Well, I can also obscure the view of things or creatures, and... Not entirely sure if I can, but I've seen other ghosts possess others before. I haven't tried it on anything but the plant creature we found in the forest, and I don't know if that worked. I didn't control it or anything, just sorta... Look through its mind. So I guess I can kind of mind read?"

    "We might need that, in case we're spotted by a manetid scout and we capture it. Advanced knowledge of what they're up to could be vital, depending on what we find."

    She weren't allowed to end them like she'd prefer, but the princess had said nothing about extracting information with something like this. Until she were told otherwise, Last would consider this a loophole.

    "When we're going, where do we start our journey, your highness? Before the mountain and take the path through, or the grave site?"

    =========================================================================

    @Sekel

    "Believe me, Aurora. There are many who would do quite a lot of things if they managed to get their hooves on her. Her insatiable lust for power made our lives miserable, destroyed several hives, with some having to see their queens broken and themselves faced with the choice between being decimated, or assimilated. Onache were one of the few queens that were allowed to live, as she were useful for what Chrysalis wanted to do, even if she were kept under heavy scrutiny.

    Then there's the constant hunger, large portion who were made mindless by either not having enough love fed to their eggs, or who starved too much and broke, and that's not even touching upon how incredibly damaging her ruling have been to our reputation. We may have never been the most well loved creatures in Equestria, seeing as we preyed on ponies, yet there we could at least be explained as reclusive creatures who just came in, harvested what we needed, and mostly left anypony behind to feel miserable for a few days before they'd get back o their hooves. Chrysalis' rule have more or less cemented us as invasive kidnappers and worse. Something usually only a few specific hives took part in."

    A narrowed glance were sent towards Happy as he said this, who responded with a shake of his shoulders, along with a nodding motion that essentially signalled *Yeah, fair enough*. Onache's hive weren't a well liked one  as they were that sort of hive, and it were one of several things they had to try and move past now. They'd see how it would end, but at least so far, it were pretty alright. Thorax hadn't tried to nuke them, and the ponies apparently left them alone in the desert after the first meeting. All in all, not too shabby of a start.

    "As I said, her crown is a heavy one to carry, and as a royal nymph of hers, you're going to feel that burden lay upon you as well. Yet my hope is that as time goes on, we can all prove that we are not like her anymore, and that we wish harmony with the other races. I'd like for you to work with us to that endeavor, when you're ready of course. I'll be more than happy to help in what way  that I can, though my adviser is going to need to be here to really get anywhere. He understands a whole lot more of these politics and how to change perception than I do.

    But again, this is all in due time. I think with everything that's happened, perhaps you need to ease up and focus on what you plan to do right now, Aurora. There's enough time to deal with your responsibilities and politics later on."

    He'd like to talk about her potentially consider reforming too, but it weren't the time just yet. Another time, when she were more comfortable with herself, and things were calmer, perhaps he could convince her of this. It truly were the best thing one of their kind could do, that much he were sure of, but he refused to try and force it upon others. Something which the other hives sadly didn't understand right now. *sigh* Perhaps in due time.

    @Widdershins

    Stargazer weren't dense. Be it his time as a petty criminal, or after the guard had saved him, he had gotten quite a a bit ahead by being observant and make a read on others, and even though Ponyville were causing him to readjust some settings due to how odd the locals and tourists were at times, it didn't take a lot to understand that this pony were hiding something. Something important he dreaded, yet it weren't his job to judge the pony. It were his job to uphold the law, and currently, the law (meaning Mayor Mare) had asked him to go and find these ponies, so that were what he were going to do. There'd be enough time to question them later.

    The terms he had to work with were sadly rather vague, but there were some other factors he could go by beyond what he had been told, including going for those whom he had not seen before. Whilst he had met quite a few in the three days he had lived in Ponyville, there'd still be some locals who he might scrutiny as being outsiders as well, yet that were a margin of error he had to work with, whilst working with what he had gotten. He'd probably have to face the varied ones and just ask if they knew this strange stallion at his office as his main approach, rather than spread the word as he had hoped to be able to do, but alas, such were the job at times. And as he had learned so far in the short, hectic time he had in Ponyville so far, nothing were just simple and easy in this place.

    "It's Mayor Mare, and I hope for all your sakes that my town does not suffer that sort of attack from your visit, or Officer Stargazer's cell are going to end up quite cramped."

    The mature mare's tone and stance had gotten more official as she had been described what sounded less like a family, and more like a warring band or barbarians out to pillage and burn. Much as Ponyville welcomed outsiders (mostly) this sort of visit were not welcome, and especially not this close after a large attack that had already crushed a lot of houses. The forepony were just clearing homes to be used for the families who had been waiting in the tent camps now, and didn't need to hear of their homes getting crushed more.

    "Let's hope it doesn't go that far, mayor."

    Stare went over and looked at the mayor, hoping that her sudden worries wouldn't end up coming to fruition. Ponyville had been through enough these days, even if sadly, history taught any local that the town were bound to be hit with more issues. It seemed like their lot in life at this point, even if it were usually with more time between events than this. Never a guarantee in Ponyville though.

    Seeing as it were going to take a bit of time for Alonsus to come back, and Blither kept talking about food, Stare would withdraw a granola bar that she had been keeping in her pocket in case her blood sugar lowered, and offered it towards him. It wasn't much, but it seemed like it'd do him better than her right now.

    "Alonsus can be a little special, but he's reliable. He'll be back as soon as he can, but if you need something now, perhaps this can help a little?"

    "A hug can actively hurt, depending on how the one you try to hug are. Such as if they got broken or brittle bones, in which case a hug might well hurt them, as unfortunate as that is."

    Scarcity suddenly bit notice in something that had changed as they passed one of the nearby houses: Sunny were a good deal shorter than she had first appeared. Certainly still of a larger than normal size, but less of a giant, and more akin to Princess Celestia. Hmm... A peculiar change, but considering the draconequui activity she had heard of in the area, with Discord himself even living here, there were bound to eventually be some sort of anomalous effects lingering around. An illusion of sorts that made others perceive Sunny as larger than normal were something which could well fit that, though it were a shame. Scarcity had truly hoped that this mare were of the gargantuan ones, so that she might learn more of that particular area, and draw some opportunities from Sunny herself.

    Oh well, one had to adapt to the facts as they arrived, and Sunny may still be useful, depending on what strength she had to work with, among other things. They'd surely find something of note to focus on with the mare, given enough time.

    On a more positive note though, she finally had a name to work with now, when it came to search for Sunny's family. Blither. A special name for sure, and not one she knew off the top of her head. Perhaps if she could learn something more on him, beyond just a simple random color out of several, that would be something to work with. More than the comments on big being a relative term depending on if you looked at it as size or age.

    "Could you perhaps tell me more of Blither, darling? He sounds like one whom you look at for guidance, so your older brother I assume. Can you speak in more details about how he looks perhaps? It might help us quite a bit in finding him, or at least somepny who have seen him pass through another part of town."

    "Far as I've been told, he's married already, and not interested in others, but he have a great big ego. Fan that and you can probably get him to do all sorts of things."

    It would require a bit of sucking up to someone to make him workable, but any con artist worth their salt would know how to deal with those sorts of beings, and how easy it were to get to them once you had them going. It were especially easy with married ones, as they'd be too prideful and embarrassed to admit to them having been taken advantage of in a way that'd make their spouse figure out, such as say, file a complaint at the police station. Some still did, sure, but it were a significantly smaller portion of folks than those who were unmarried, or had less pride.

    All in all, she should have an easy time scamming this one, long as she played him right, and if she could deal with casino guests well, this one should be just as easy to play as a fiddle.

    Snuzzle's ears perked as she heard a sound from the other room, that sounded like a microphone being tested. Satisfactory one might say too, as judging by the low mumbling, whoever were testing it were singing a few tunes of some sort of song just to make sure it were stable, and didn't blast through to this room.

    "Sound system's in place then. Guess all that's needed now are the guests."

    The workers in this room were emptying out slowly too, with the floors and tables having more or less been dealt with, leaving just a few sweepers and perfectionists working on making the tables further presentable.

    "I admire your mental stability, to be able to deal with loneliness that well, but I doubt that it would be wise to hide for another thousand years. The prejudices would still be the same, just perhaps more ingrained."

    It might be that other sirens would take up the mantle instead, but were there any guarantee of this? And even if there were, Nada showing up out of nowhere seemed unwise in a future age, where things might be a lot less calm than they were now.

    "There's also the fact that this princess of theirs, Twilight Sparkle, seems to be doing what she can to make connections and mend old issues between the races these days. It's... Admirable, if a little gullible at times, and not something I can guarantee will last for another thousand years. It might well be for the best to try and ride this wave and seek some kind of benefit from that, as other races seemingly also have, or are starting to."

    Rosa looked up at Lin from his position on the floor, now two times in a row being beaten down by the longma siblings, though at least this time, the impact had not been as great, so he weren't feeling any worse than could be expected. Partially since Lin's approach had not been to keep hold of him as she did her spin, and more judo threw hi over her shoulder, which didn't leave her weight impact afterwards.

    "I think it might come down to technique more than upper body strength, though we'd have to test to find that out. Perhaps now would be a good time for me to become the test subject, and show you how I would escape from this, using this same technique that I described?"

    If Lin would allow it, he'd place himself in front of her, and wait for her to grab hold of him and try to put him in a headlock. He'd then give her a few seconds with some weak struggling, to try and make this seem believable, before he lowered down, keeled over, and somersaulted Lin right over his shoulder in a nice, fluid circle whilst she still kept hold of him, and ended up on top of her, as she were slammed down unto the blanket. She'd likely let go of him then, though if not, he'd be rather impressed. It also meant he'd have to go for alternatives to get loose, yet it would still be fairly impressive. Most let go if it came to this.

    In case she wouldn't allow for that, he'd have to think of some other approach instead. Perhaps he could draw a minor representation on how to do this in the dirt? Should be possible enough yes, and it could explain the basics if he also talked whilst dolling this down.

    With that in mind, he'd go ahead and do that, whilst explaining what he wanted her to do, thought his were again only if Lin wouldn't take part in running another presentation, wherein she were the one doing the headlock. It were preferable to teach through actually experiencing it in his mind, at least when it came to things like this. That stance did not transfer over into other things, such as poison studies.

    "The instructors aren't there to break you or anything, just to try and make you stronger, more prepared, and working as a unit. If they do something punishing, it's mostly because you messed up something, and that's just regular stuff.

    Well... Okay, Sergeant Kelp is sort of there to break you. She's our underwater combat instructor, and there's a lot of new recruits who underestimates her when they first meet her. She takes a good deal of enjoyment out of showing them who's boss, and just utterly wipe the floor with a few of them, until the rest figures it out. I'm sure that long as you try and be open-minded, she isn't gonna single you out."

    The mermaid were a special case really, but she were a nice being. She just didn't like overconfidence, nor the concept of others feeling high and mighty, which made them underestimate their opponent. To her, that sort of thing were dangerous, and had to be dealt with. Plus she kinda enjoyed striking back against those who fought that mermaids were weak and unable to do anything in battles. The grin on her face got way too genuine doing that to not make it obvious that she loved that part of her job.

    Though she were slow with it, Shell also drank from her tea, she just did so slowly to enjoy it more, and usually when the others talked, so she had a bit of free time for it.

    "Sounds like a splendid plan, though I must warn you that I know not how long it may be before we return here again. It have been a trying experience for Brittle, and I think she needs some time in a more calm environment for a while after this. Fear not though, I give you my word that we will eventually return."

    Briar would bow at his companion once more, though his stance would change and return more to normal as he heard heavy hooves approaching, in a manner that sounded somewhat aggressive in nature.

    "Oy, what's one of those Things doing here? The standards of this place have sunk low enough to let that filth infest it?"

    The burly stallion that were headed their way looked like a construction worker, and a rather angry one at that, as his glance fell on Brittle with a look going over it that indicated he wanted to stomp her out like a regular bug. Something which of course, made Brittle near mortified and caused her to cover behind Briar whilst shaking like a leaf in the wind.

    "I ask that you please be on your way sir. Your opinion on my friend is not welcome."

    "Friend? With something like that? It's just gonna abduct and kill ya, like their kind constantly does. Just get outta my way and I'll deal with this li-Urgh!"

    The stallion suddenly find a rather sturdy vine had emerged from under the cape of Briar, which had wrapped around his torso and dragged him in like he were little more than a stick on the ground. All the way up to his face so that the stallion had no way of looking away from the close-eyed evergrown.

    "Let me rephrase that then, as you clear do not understand a kind suggestion: Begone little pony -"

    Briar went into a big, jack'o lantern smile of sharp teeth, which seemed to suddenly make the stallion a whole lot more nervous and downright scared all of a sudden.

    "- If you please."

    With that, he let go, and just stood there with his vine sliding back in place, whilst the rude one took of in quite the hurry.

    "I believe that is our cue to be on our way Even if I can easily make a solid case towards any guard he might draw into this, it is a tedious process to go through, and Brittle have need for peace as soon as I can provide it now. My sincerest apologies for simply leaving you so suddenly , Mr. Velvet, though until next we meet, I wish you the best."

    They'd be on their way after that, with brittle unable to say or do much of anything else than standing very close to Briar and go between shaking and looking around horrified, as if she expected to be attacked at any moment from just about anypony now. Which sadly, were indeed what she were thinking.

    *sigh* Sometimes all it took were one fool to ruin everything...

    I sorta have it as a head cannon that dragons are related in some way to elements, as dragons are varied and historically comes off as creatures made of magic to some degree, so Spike having a special fire might just be a fire dragon, who expresses his initiate magic through his connected element, yet in a unique way that Twilight might well have fostered as it were rather practical.

    Not all dragons have magic I can imagine, and even fewer trains it, but Spike's around the nerd princess. I'm sure if anyone would encourage magic learning, it'd be her. If only because she could take advantage of it :P

    As for the size comparison, I were actually convinced that Sunny were about the size of a house, considering the descriptions you gave of her so far. That she's only around Celestia's size makes things rather... Troubling, though I do have an out there if need be. Been some strange draconequui misdeeds in the area in recent days, so perhaps a few illusions have lingered around causing some sight issues, making her seem enormous until they got out of a certain area. Something which she herself wouldn't even bite notice in more than likely, as it is perception from others about her. I dunno what you'd think about that idea to make it fit?

    I could also just have Anomaly pop in briefly to more or less yell *Gotcha!* before bouncing off with a laugh as everyone would get mighty confused at what they had seen. :)

    Also, Rainbow Crash is a weird one that might just be a tough nut, but Pinkie is likely made of some sort of rubber, so I don't think any in universe laws of physics counts for her. :P

    Null would feel something akin to a static shock when each pin made contact with a nerve. If void were looking closely she'd be able to see that each diamond started glowing when they had been properly inserted, it was faint, but noticeable.

    This particular part of the process didn't hurt per se, but Null felt her teeth clench every time a jolt went down her stump and vibrated on her spine. An annoying little side effect that were not comfortable, but which she could imagine might have been rather painful were she not currently sedated. Electricity had a tendency to be like that, in her personal experience, though numbed like this, she couldn't tell how strong this were. Were it like a strong static? Or actual jolts, like from a live wire? Because she had been on the receiving end of both, and one of those made her feel cooked alive, while the other just stung.

    Urgh, hopefully it wouldn't be the first option. The pain meds were gonna have to be rather strong to make her get through the aftermath of a proper frying.

    Void weren't blind to this reaction from her sister, but as Null didn't seem to be reacting enough on it to yelp out or reach out for any of them, she could do nothing but hope that her sis were okay, and instead focus on the work as it continued, starting with the crystals glowing as they got attached to Null.

    It were pretty weird to see her big sis on the other side of the prosthetics if she had to be honest. She were used to seeing her sit and fickle with them, trying to make things fit the best she could for mostly the sake of her, and yet now it were suddenly her turn to go through something which had no guarantee of working, much as she prayed to every single deity she could remember by name right now that it would. Including the dark god of undeath Suusha, and his counterpart, the goddess of eternal sleep Viznay, long away in Harrowmark. Some who likely neither could, nor would hear her prayers, but she cared not about that. If that sort of logic applied, she also would have never sent a prayer to Aldraine, the demigoddess of living nightmares they had accidentally released in a small country neighboring Neighpon, nor any of the other seven or so deities she knew off the top of her head that she had either heard off, or that had varied levels of (dis)interest in them and their meddling ways.

    Thoughts like this helped distract her and feel like she were doing something as time ticked away and the operation went on for hours on end, until finally, it seemed like they might be if not done, then at least willing to take a break. She weren't entirely sure, as this were new territory for her, and she didn't know if attaching the wing itself were just the first of many parts to be done here, but at the very least, there'd be a pause, if nothing else. Null had gotten bored of having to lay here and not be able to just have a nap through it, so at some point, she started to mumble something, of which only a few words came through that wasn't some sort of sound of discomfort like *Nggh* at a shock, in case one got strong. Were one known of the world outside Troy, perhaps a few songs would be recognized here, which Null would probably have liked to whistle instead, where it not because this wasn't an appropriate, nor easy time to do so.

    Null felt t he wing get attached on her back, due to some more weight being felt pressuring down on her that wasn't letting go again that easily, but she had no idea what else were going on up there. For all she knew, they had scraped the idea, and instead installed a cupholder to improve her resale value.

    On 1/29/2020 at 4:48 AM, Illiad Easle said:

    "If you could, carefully, extend your wing out? Don't want to aggravate that sprain of yours, but first." He motioned to Illiad, who produced a sort of mirror which, if Null looked into it, would show her good side twice, reflected across her muzzle, it essence it showed her as if she were symmetrical, her natural wing shown on both sides of her body. "Look at your reflection, imagine that you are extending both wings out like you see in the image."

    Hey look at that. A midget on a bench.

    Urgh, she had been laying here for too long since that were all she could think off when she saw the mirror reflecting her functional side, hadn't she? Seriously, would it have killed them to put a book below her, and give Void a stick to flip the pages now and again? At least that way, she could currently be miffed about having been stopped at a good point, rather than bored out of her skull.

    Peh, whatever. Look at the mirror, imagine she had two wings stretching out. So fantasize about being whole again, essentially? Just like the old days when she were small, and stood up against mirrors or any other appropriate reflective surface she could find, to imagine herself having two wings again, all spread out and ready to take her up into the air where she belonged. Just to move a few inches away, caught a good look of reality hitting her like a sledgehammer, and feel like she wanted to jump off a cliff. Not something she had done in about ten years by now, even if she had been tempted many a time. At some point, it had just felt like she were setting herself up for pain by doing this, rather than imagine things being better.

    But fine, she'd do it here. Slowly mind you, as she didn't want to risk that sprain end up with something worse, like a dislodged joint, or broken wingbone.

    Slowly extending her wing, she'd catch a glimpse of what might have been, had that fateful day in Troy never happened, and a bitter grimace spread on her lips. To imagine her having two good wings like this, taken away just because they were afraid what a few fallen feathers could do... Something which could mostly be handled by making sure she learned to properly preen her own feathers, but no. Cutting the tips of her flight feathers had of course been the more rational decision.

    How she hoped the sands had taken them all, and that it had been slow.

    When her wing were extended, she flapped it slowly a few times, and as she saw a single down fall from it, a single, empty *Hah* escaped her muzzle. Just what she wanted to see with those thoughts roaming around her head. How about coming in with a pair of pliers now they were at it, just to really slam it home.

    "Uuh, you better hold me down, or I might fly right off the table."

    The sarcasm were thick enough to be cut into pieces and served on bread as Null kept the motion going, and imagined what it might be like, were the reflection she looked at actually real. Quite honestly, it made her want to kick herself in the face, just like she wished to with all other pegasi she felt like were flaunting their flight at her, even if the majority rarely did. Most were either indifferent, or had some degree of sympathy for her, but she were just too bitter about it to see it most of the time.

    The sound of a certain feline slumping down unto the ground on his stomach and chin, would be the first response from the sphinx at now seeing the tables turned, and Atzy being the one who felt she had the moral high ground, and the right to be aggressive.

    "Could you two just stop fighting? Please?"

    Pride, honor, bla. bla. bla. Enzo couldn't muster the energy to care about that, as he politely asked the two in a somewhat gloomy tone to just stop with this, instead of just taking turn being the moral crusader.

    "No one is innocent in this, but you're both alive and free now. Can't you just be happy about that, instead of continuing this cycle of hatred?"

    *sigh* For creatures with such short lives, they certainly wasted far too much of it focused on the wrong things. They had both gotten what they wanted, despite the wrongs that got them to this point, so why focus on all the bad things? They had their lives ahead of them now. Surely that should be something that could brighten up their day, even if the skies looked dark and grey for him.

    Following the pattern, he supposed they'd start to refocus blame on him now, for pushing them with a hope that had no guarantee, and going along with all of this, without truly trying to stop it. Might well look like that from their perspective he supposed, seeing how strong his kind usually were. Had he the knowledge and training others of his age would have normally  then sure, he'd be able to do this as well. Yet that wasn't an option, though he doubted these two would know that, and so, the turn for anger would come for him.

    *sigh* Whatever. Let them yell to their hearts content. He didn't care anymore.

    Laying and waiting for the verbal lashing, Enzo would glance at the ponies with a dreary, moody look in his eyes, and general slumped over stance. They wouldn't rouse much of a fight on this out of him, though that may never be their intent. Could well be they would still be bickering like siblings and completely ignore the sphinx for a while, until they found some middle ground.

    "I doubt they're stronger, but persistent? Yes."

    Last went back to gnawing on her sour and spicy dinner/breakfast (she hadn't had much time to eat today), as the princess finished her own meal, and turned her attention towards their resident spirit.

    A spirit who - at the question asked of her - would avert her eyes, and scrape her hooves through the floor.

    "I... Don't remember what it was like to be alive anymore."

    Cherish had spend so long in the old castle that she couldn't even remember where she came from before ending up there anymore. Whenever she tried to fo us on it, most of it just came of as a foggy blur, obscured from direct viewing, with a few images sort of clear every now and again, though rarely the same.

    "I know I went to the castle because I was afraid of something that included unicorns, but before that I just don't know.

    Sometimes when I really focus on it, I can remember some feelings though, like the wind through my mane, or rain drizzling down and making me wet.

    Maybe I'll remember when I can wander around and look at things again, but I just can't say anything about my life right now. I... I'm sorry.."

    "I doubt you were a figther. You're too frail, and that dress ain't for battling. Guessing your ghostpowers could come in handy though, yeah?"

    Cherish looked up to find herself locking eyes with Last's one-eyed stare, as the mare brought some simple, yet fair points up. Cherish didn't look, nor feel like she were a fighter. Hurting others had never been something she remember enjoying in undeath, and like were pointed out, she looked more like she were ready for a party than a brawl.

    "My... O-Oh, right, those. I uhm... Yes. I can help with things like this, though I hope it doesn't go that way. I don't want to fight."

    ============================================================================

    @Sekel

    "I could talk of her for hours, but I can make it as basic as possible, in case you have somewhere else to go.

    To make it short, Chrysalis can best be described as a powerhungry tyrant. The hive never mattered to her, as much as being the most powerful ruler. Which sadly, she were.

    A changeling monarch's power is tied in some part to how big their hive are. The more drones in the hivemind, the more power the monarch has. It might just be around a fifth or so of your potential at best, but when it comes to assimilating hives like she did to bolster her own numbers, that edge were all she needed.

    I'm not as strong as she were though, just because I've taken over the hive. When we reformed, one of the things that went away were the hivemind. We don't have that link anymore, and it makes us weaker in a way."

    "Could've sworn I've still seen some communicating without using their muzzles."

    "That's just telepathy, and frankly without it, I think some of u would've gone insane from the silence. It helps ease the change in for us.

    *sigh* But to return to Chrysalis... As said, she were a power hungry tyrant, with a heart as cold as the frozen mountains. The only one she cared for were herself, and she treated the rest of us like tools, or even worse, if we somehow failed her, or she were bored. It's been a struggle to explain to some of them why this abusive, horrendous creature were a bad queen too, since that sort of behavior were all they knew. Kindness is still a new concept for far too many of the others, but I'm doing my best to change things. It just takes a lot of time and effort, and with all the politics in over things now...

    Sorry, I didn't mean to throw in self pity there. This is about you, and what you want to know, Aurora. And as for that, just know that unless you whip your own nymphs, you wouldn't be able to do worse than Chrysalis did.

    Swarm be willing, you'll be a kind queen, when you eventually get your own hive."

    Rosa rose a hoof and waved dismissively at Sen's worry towards his well being. It were a kind gesture, certainly, but it were misplaced, as he were fine, if a little bruised on the back.

    "I'm fine. Just the result of one of the many proper way to escape from a headlock, or general attack from behind. I just need a moment."

    Perhaps this were not the best thing to do, considering he still weren't at the top of his game, after the incident with the statue, but nothing were broken so it seemed to be okay. Though it did make him think that this might have been a better exercise to test with some precautions taken first. Like say, a layer of moss, or some sort of mattres lying behind him. A failure to anticipate that lied solely on him.

    After about twenty seconds, Rosa would get back on his hooves and stretch his back and wings. Small cracks would be heard here and there during this, as everything got settled right back, much like if you cracked your knuckles, or stretched out after sitting in a chair for a prolonged period of time.

    "Nng, much better.

    Now then, as you could both see, slamming back like that and smashing me with his body weight, forced me to let go. Even heavier opponents will more than likely at the very least ease their grip automatically, which is your chance to wriggle free. Another option to get loose for the record, is also to stomp on the feet or toes of whoever drags you up. As equines have neither, I couldn't show that with any ease, so the measure with more of a counter attack worked better.

    Now then, I believe it's your turn now, Lin. Though in your case, I will show you a different technique to get lose with. Something which should work better against weaker opponents that underestimates your strength."

    Before that though, he'd just spent a few minutes to prepare a soft layer of sorts of what he could find that were less impactful than the ground they were standing on, at which point, he'd wave Lin over, instruct her to stand behind the layer, and then take hold of her, like he had with Sen, though he wasn't putting as much force into it, as the point here were to show what would happen against someone careless or weak enough to not have the physical strength to keep the headlock up.

    "Soon as you're ready, keel over and force me over your shoulders, and down on the ground. Try to make a full somersault and land on top of me as well."

    Wit that said, Rosa would stop slacking off, and actually put some pressure on Lin's throat, whilst bracing himself for impact. This were going to be an experience.

    The dragoness picked up on the bad feelings from Ruby, but she honestly didn't care about it, and just kept on smiling through the annoyed pony's response.

    "Long as the expensive stuff isn't mine, I don't mind."

    She let off a chuckle and took another sip from her flask before storing it away under the desk again. Truth be told, most dragon run bars had their own variants of some kind of gem drink, mostly made from really heating up some diamonds or some random, non-expensive gems, depending on what sort of flavor they were going for. This here you could hardly taste the gems in though, as her secret ingredient (combined with some fruit essence) covered that up nicely, and really added most of the calming edge to things.

    Honestly, it was just a bit of gin, nothing secret. Okay, perhaps a little more than just a bit. Like a thimble maybe. Or well, a small glass' worth. Almost a half-full, tall glass if you looked at it at the right angle really.

    ...Okay, the bottle was 90% gin, and she were low level buzzed most of the day. What were anyone gonna do about it?

    "If you're looking for someone with a fat wallet and no moral high ground, try the griffon with the yellow wing stripes when things get started. Got told that one's a real piece of work, that're only showing up to flaunt his wealth at every chance he gets. You know the sort, right? All high and mighty, needing to be brought down a peg or two. Wouldn't doing that put a smile on that sour face of yours?"

    Snuzzle had no idea who, or even what she were dealing with. She were just having a good time, and talking with folks like she usually did. Not her fault if a few folks got a little too high strung and couldn't find a laugh if it bit them in the rear, like Ruby here. Someone's gotten a taste of a real sour apple and never gotten over it, hehe.

    "I hope that you'll find some individuals that won't turn their backs on you as easily again, or at least won't simply ignore you. Even a lifelong, bitter rivalry is some kind of companionship, which anyone needs. Being alone is just bound to eventually drive you mad."

    Nerzhei had spent a lot of time in her life feeling alone, but she had rarely actually been that. Much as she were frustrated and irritated about her own family and kind in general, without some kind of noise in the long rung, it started to grind on her mind, and make her feel as if she were slipping slowly towards some kind of breaking point. Had she not this problem, she would have been happy living as a hermit for most of her life, away from towns and other dragons that served to mostly mock her or boast of their strength. That sort of hassle would be welcome to just vanish. Yet as mentioned, it were still better than prolonged silence, as irritating as it were to admit that.

    Nada might be different though, and handle solitude better. Seemed like she had so far really, yet at the same time, she were in a forest. Hearing the animals also counted as some sort of companionship, even if you ended up eating them. Though that likely depended on the individual. Might be that this siren were just far more mentally robust for something like that, and even preferred it at times, if not always. Perhaps she'd get an answer to this sooner or later.

    "Wait, giraffes are real?"

    Tis actually surprised Shell, as much as she had heard of these creatures, it didn't sound like a real species. Something like a tall horse, with an enormously long neck, just sounded ludicrous, and frankly pretty bizarre. How would someone like that even get by normally? How'd they drink? Or put a sweater on? Or anything else that regular beings did, really? Even if they were just animals and wouldn't use clothes, there'd still be things that just didn't make sense, including first and foremost, the enormous neck.

    "How? I've heard others speak about those before, and it just sounds silly.

    Zebra's though, totally real, and so are those we have in Shark Bay. A small family that moved in I think... 5 years ago, more or less? It's pretty easy to spot them, and where they live too, as their place is really traditional. As is their rhyme speak. Took me some time to get used to that the first time I had to go in after a sleeping potion to help with some insomnia my brother had. I kinda thought they were messing with me for a solid ten minutes."

    She's let out a small giggle. Strange folks you could meet at times in Shark Bay, but the majority were real friendly, including these. You just had to get used to how they functioned, just as they probably had to the first time they ran into a regular pony town. Adaption were the key to everything.

    Pinned down and prepped for surgery. Reminded her a bit about the time they'd gotten lost in Pinkenshire, and sought shelter in what they thought were an abandoned husk, just to find some nutter doing unlicensed surgeries in there. Y'know, just without the heaps of dead bodies, and a rambling mad pony talking about how "This time, it is sure to work!".

    Urgh  one of the few times her anti magic had really been a life saver, as that poker of his didn't do whatever to her that happened to his previous victims, but just cut a nasty hole in her back. Sometimes when she were washing her back, she could swear she still felt a small deepening from where he had cut, despite Void swearing that he hadn't taken anything out.

    But that had been then, and this were now. Both included being strapped down and getting worked on, but that were a forced situation by someone who clearly didn't have all his marbles, and this here were an apparent amount of professional, who supposedly were trying to help her. She still weren't entirely sure, but considering she were strapped down, had her stump shaved and felt numb, it wer epretty much too late to back out anyway. Just had to bite down and get it over with.

    Though she were trying to keep the tough act up, her voice were carrying a sense of nervousness, as Null did her best to stop from reaching over with her hoof, to seek some degree of comfort. She hated having to want this, as it made her feel weak around strangers that she didn't wish to show that sort of side of herself to, but the instintual need to reach out for her mother or sister were irritatingly hard to fight.

    Depending on how this went, she might end up doing so. It would come down to whatever or not they actually had to sock her, though even if she wouldn't feel enough pain to start on that, any sort of pain on her back going through would result in her reaching out. The tough act could only take her so far, and seeing how nervous this already made her feel, she weren't exactly at the top of her game.

    Void were atanding near their mother, ready to provide comfort too,  if Null needed it, though she were arguably as nervous, if not more than her big sister. Over two decades of torment for Null could change right here, or it could end in disaster, and there would be nothing she could do about it if it went wrong, other than being there for her sister.

    *gulp* Here was hoping for the best, even if she feared the worst.

    "Enough!"

    As the conversation had gone talking, and progressively gone worse and worse, to the point where a one sided shouting match were currently happening, Enzo had suddenly risen up and roared out the annoyed, loud word at the two minuscule creatures standing before him.

    It were not his intent to tower above them like this, wings spread and with a glare in his eyes that made it seem as if he were debating treating the equines like the the rats they comparatively were, next to one of his size. The shouting bashing through his sensitive ears had just started to grind on him, while he were already in a somewhat annoyed mood, and he just wanted it to stop. The fact that he briefly tried to cover his ears with his paws before this to no avail, should be some indicator of the impact it had on him.

    "She made a choice for you both, Karmic. That she cannot take away, but have you thought of the things words? Your separation hurt, because you were so close to being assimilated, and what I thought of had no guarantee of working, even if we found the right materials.

    That said-  Yes, she should have heard you out, and let you talk this over to prepare yourself with what were going to happen. You were robbed of a choice, even if you might have chosen the wrong one, and she owes you for that. Just as you owe her for pleading Dia'thiz to spare you."

    He had given them a hope, but he'd be the first to admit that there had been no assurances, plus it would have taken them quite some time to get everything ready. There might have no longer been a Karmic Fate at that point. Just Atzy, slowly changing the former pony's body to fit her own needs.

    After this initial outburst and condemnation of both their parts in this, Enzo sat down again, ears hanging and wings just slopping down his sides. The air in his balloon had burst, and his bravado had taken a hike, as apathy started to flood over him again with how pointless this all were. Karmic and Atzy fighting, him trying to stop it, Equestria, camaraderie, just... Everything. What were the point in trying to get things to work out, when they couldn't even stop themselves from fighting?

    "You got your threats to deal with, we had ours."

    The stories she had heard so far, made it questionable which side had it worst in Last's opinion. So far nopony had died from the attacks brought on by Discord, Tirek, Chrysalis or the like, which were in large part due to the element bearers efficiently dealing with things before they escalated. Yet at the same time, seeing how easily they were dealt with over one of three fights (even if it had taken powerful magics to win), made it pale in comparison to some of the enemies they had at the shrine, such as the Manetids, who had tormented them since the first generation of Shrine Maidens arrived.

    On the other side though, there were a lot of casualties over the years for the Shrine Maidens, but their enemies were technically on a lower scale than that of the lord of chaos, or the magic devourer himself, regardless of how relentless they were. They had also been unable to definitely deal with a good deal of them, which were why so many of the threats still persisted throughout years, or even generations, which might have been different if they had definite victories like the princess and her friends had.

    She'd still technically say that they had it worse though, due to occasional food shortages, loss of loved ones, little to no time to enjoy life, a life expectancy rarely surpassing forty, etc. A lot of painful things that happened there, and yet... It had been her home, and her life. It were hard to try and fit into a society like Ponyville when that were her reality, instead of this mostly peaceful life.

    *sigh* But like her father used to say to them: "Examine, adapt, and overcome." She'd learn to fit in eventually, one way or another.

    "I don't know if we'll Help her per se, but I'll be willing to listen to her."

    "That's all we're asking for. My queen knows you two didn't leave on the best of terms, and she just wants a chance to talk, and see if there's a chance that you can move past it. If you can't, then at least we tried."

    King Thorax slowly nodded, and seemed to look beyond the walls, but didn't answer more to that. It had been settled, that the two royals would meet, and have a talk. What came of it would depend on how that meeting went. Gods knows that he certainly couldn't tell, as Thorax weren't sure if she he could forgive the slaver queen for the things she had done, even if she thought them necessary.

    His gaze would turn towards the ground briefly, as he felt a slight rumble on in the rocks beneath them, lasting not more than a half second before stopping again, as suddenly as it had appeared. Curious really, as they didn't usually have any seismic activity in the area... Perhaps a slagworm had been drilling through the deep dirt some way down and it just vibrated up? It were probably nothing.

    "...So, what would you want to know first, Aurora?"

    "Sounds like a really bad flower to run into for a pony. But that's why it's good to have a zebra around to help with the issues. They're really good at alla sorts of concoctions. We even got a few in Shark Bay. They make a mint during tourist season on stuff for hay fever and such."

    Regarding the Poison Joke, some might think it best to just incinerate every trace of that flower, but Shell would never advocate ruining the environment like that. Weird and potentially dangerous as that plant might be, it could be vital for the ecosystem in some way, and even if it wasn't, barring it being an invasive species, it had as much right to be there as the ponies in the cities had. Why anypony would think differently were sometimes beyond her.

    "Anyway, that flower is probably important for the local ecosystem. Long as the locals are aware of it and keeps away, everything sounds like it'll be fine.

    Oh, oh, and I heard about Pinkie Pie before. Is it true that she's some sort of inter-dimensional wizard that sees the laws of physics as ground rules to break on a daily basis?"

    @EQ_Theta

    "Very well, let's start with the headlock then.

    I'm going to need a volunteer for this, and as Omen isn't here, and you both wish to learn, I'm going to take turns between you. Sen, you go first."

    Rosa rose up and stretched his legs. A strange thing to be suddenly in the teaching position on this, rather than a subject or student, but he had hopefully seen and done enough to be able to properly explain how to do this. At least to some extend.

    Once Sen were in position, Rosa would go slowly towards him, and start the lecture.

    "The first part to know, is that doing a front facing headlock is quite a lot more difficult, and takes a long time to practice. As such, you're better off either sneak up behind your opponent, or flip them around, like this."

    With a quick motion, Rosa would close the gap, dive beneath Sen's head level, and use his own body weight to force the longma in an upwards, two leg position, before rapidly swinging him around and placing one front leg around Sen's torso and front legs, pinning them down, and the other up at his neck, though the thestral wasn't pressing in on the throat just yet. The whole act were done quickly, in a well trained motion that the longma might struggle with, but any sort of way he could get behind a target would do the trick really. This were more or less just Rosa showing off.

    "Now, the trick in a proper headlock is twofold. The main one is that with the correct pressure to the throat and chin, you will cut off the air flow to your targets brain, which will eventually cause them to pass out. You can hear when you have hit that point, as the target will let out a troubled attempt at breathing. Like so."

    He'd press down on Sen's throat until a wheeze, or raspy gasp would escape the longma, at which point he'd relax that part of the routine again.

    "In one done wrong, the one performing it will only pressure on the throat, which gives you the option to smash your head backwards and headbutt him. A proper one is where you press upwards against the chin at the same time, which locks your targets head from going forward and gaining enough momentum to hurt you on a push back. With some training, you can also have the head in the correct angle to completely negate any attempt at movement, but you risk snapping their neck, or causing muscle spasms if you're untrained, so I'd advise against you trying to begin with. Simply try and rest your head on or near their shoulder if possible instead, which will negate the backwards motion they're actually able to make.

    As for the second part of a good headlock, it all comes down the surprise. As the air flow starts to be reduced to your targets brain, they'll go into an increasing panic. If they are surprised at the assault and this happens, they are even more unlikely to think rationally on how to get lose of this, and will just try to wriggle free, or pull their head away, rather than fend you off.

    As for how to get off, I will have Sen demonstrate one option now."

    Rosa would lean into Sen's ear, and whisper to him "Once I start, lower your knees, then push back up as hard as you can, and throw yourself backwards."

    He'd begin properly showing the headlock on Sen after that, aiming to cause the longma to pass out. However, if Sen did as told, he'd be able to push into Rosa with all his weight, causing the bat pony to be forced down on the ground on his back, with the longma crashing down on top of him. This would cause Rosa's grip to loosen, and for the thestral to let out a groan. He were fine enough, but he could sure feel the impact.

    @Rising Dusk

    "I am not saying it id inedible, just different. We weren't allowed many spices in Oaksbrook, and the swamp natural flavors are more earthy than this."

    Her complaints aside, Lily would eat the hayburger alright, though the fries would go slower, as those she weren't too sure about They tastes somewhat greasy in it, for a lack of a better term, though the taste weren't bad, so... Had it been drenched in some sort of fatty oil before getting cooked, maybe? Tasted somewhat like that, and she were used to being a pony in her twilight years, which meant having to watch the fatty foods, as her system couldn't digest it as well anymore. Now she were young and spry, but old habits died hard.

    As they were eating, her eyes were off the bauble for about a half minute, whilst she glanced at the calmness surrounding her in this strange land. In that time, Rising would be able to see that something actually did happen. A large swarm of what seemed like decaying risen of many races, shambled out of the nearby woods the group were on, and aimed for the beings in the cart.

    They all got ready to fight, with the diamond dog cracking his knuckles, Blighteye readying a bolt in his crossbow, and Caramel drawing her knife and getting a disturbingly pleased smile spreading on her face. All the while, blue wisps of flames sparked in the air around the cart, ready to incinerate all that tried to get near, as Wisp did her part in protecting their sleeping cargo. However, all their actions were for naught, as the priestess rose above the cart and took action herself.

    A pale light were dancing in her eyes, beneath the old glasses, and with what seemed like a shout or roar of some kind, light would burst from her into a pair of enormous moth wings. Beneath them, the undead would stop up as if frozen, and one after would have a pale representation of the soul who inhabited what were once their living, breathing body, rise upwards into the wings themselves, before the bodies would collapse.

    This would happen to about two thirds of them, before the priestess shouted something to the others, who then got to work cutting the remaining ones down. And whenever one of the paralyzed risen fell, a pale light of varied strength would float from them, and slither over to Caramel, rising into her dress and aim for something in her stomach or chest area, just as Minty had seen earlier.

    The whole scene would take about thirty seconds, with the high priestess folding in the wings that then disappeared again, soon as the last undead were downed and burned in Wisp's blue flames. And then, they'd all just get on with their trip again, as if nothing happened, though... Thistle would look different. With a more regal, ceremonial dress overtaking the ratty one she had worn so far, and her glasses seemingly fizzling into nothing. There were still plenty of ways one could see who she had been before, but her change were certainly recognizable. Considering how attentive Rising were, he'd probably also be able tot ell even from that angle, that she appeared to have become a little taller too. Not by much though. A few inches at best.

    The draconess just chuckled at the response given to her by Ruby, clearly finding it rather amusing.

    "I see you've dealt with dragons before. Plenty of our kind's not nicer than your average lump of coal, thrown right at your face, but you shouldn't think it's all an act just because one of us acts nice. Sometimes, we really are good, and the smiles are genuine. This certainly helps too."

    Reaching below the desk, she'd pull out a flash with some sort of swirling, glowing, silvery liquid inside, and put it down on the table with a big grin.

    "Diamond Drizzle. Lethal for ponies, but sure to mellow a dragon out. It helps take the edge off, yknow? And I for one like that. Dragon Isle is a boring, fight-fueled place you see -  even worse than what ponies are usually told about it - and that's no place for an enterprising wind dragon. Las Pegasus though? Plenty of opportunities, but you gotta keep it nice for the kids. This stuff's a real helper in just toning down that instinctual side just poking at you to lash out at things for banalities."

    She popped the cork and with a joyful smile on her face, took a healthy gulp of the liquid which Ruby should be able to tell, included actual, liquid gemstones, making this sort of like a... Dragon smoothie, just with more alcohol, and a waft of strawberries.

    "Aaah, great stuff.

    Now come on then my equine friend, you don't need to feel defensive around me. Lower your guards and tell ol' Snuzzle what sorta business you're bringing to the dummies on my list. Not gonna report you or anything, just have to be sure it doesn't involve knives and things being done with them. The guards doesn't like that sort of thing, and I run a legitimate business here. We wouldn't wanna impede that, right?"

    While all of this went on, Marley would unsurprisingly, be over near a mirror, and looking himself over between preening a few lose feathers, and practicing his winning smile. He weren't paying one ounce of attention to what went on at the bar in this time, as he had to keep full focus on preparing himself for the onslaught of griffons, of where some females were seemingly single. Couldn't go into that unprepared now, could he?

    @Catpone Cerberus

    "Back in Dragon Land, a travelling salesman went between our place and Equestria, to sell a little to both sides from the others. I usually bought my books at him, and then one time, I saw this small cage with a little, pink bunny laying within. Barely old enough to open her eyes, she were just laying there.

    He claimed to have found her in an abandoned den, and figured some dragon might want to buy her as a snack. So I did."

    Nerzhei rose her hand and scratched Lotus gently under the chin with her clawed index finger, causing the bunny to stomp her right foot in place and letting out a pleased chitter.

    "I felt bad for the little thing, so I figured I'd just nurse her up a little, then set her free and that would be it. She'd have as much a chance as any other prey animal in our country like that, and my consciousness would be clear.

    But it took a while to get her there, and in that time, I started to feel attached to her. I still tried to set her free, but growing up around dragons, that were the only sort of behavior she learned to imitate and thrive in. She scared the other bunnies in the burrows, and I didn't have it in me to just leave her behind and force her to try to get along with them."

    Lotus might look all sweet and innocent, but as had been seen before by Nada, the bunny weren't like her timid, Equestrian counterparts. The only one somewhat like her would be Angel, which were also why he were the only bunny she actually got along with.

    "Besides, I like her company. She's the only friend I've consistently had for the majority of my life. Have you not had one like that at some point too, whom you'd feel bad for leaving alone?"
