"I believe that...seeking out my former enemies of that nature might be improbable. It has been so long and they might have died or...went elsewhere in life. Who knows...but as for what I have within me, their former power I don't believe that they deserve it...after all I like having what I have now. As much as that maybe...selfish. It fulfills me. I still feel this hunger within me...to be stronger...faster and more powerful? But I won't seek it out anymore...for yours and my sake. But we shall see what the future holds...

And as for what you say about good creatures...there is no good and evil you know? Its all just...individual minds who are broken on their own paths, doing things for the reasons they do...but still some of them like the ones I have met have not taken a better path...but I hope those that I took down years ago have found a better path...or gotten what they really deserved by the law...but I don't know that and probably never will. Not that it matters as...we have our own things to figure out, you know?"

Zeehva did not speak further of her husband, as it were a topic that right now, mostly dimmed her mood, and made Magnolia apparently rather uncomfortable, and uncertain of what to say or do. It were best if they simply moved on to other things, and instead tried to find new topics to discuss. Though she were going to make one remark further on this one, as the fate of Magnolia's former victims, would be a topic that were best touched upon a little further, it seemed. It were hard to say though, but she could only try, and then hope it did something good in the end.

"Borrowing power is not inherently wrong, nor is feeling a want for more of it. It's what you do with that urge, and how much you keep, that defines what sort of pony you are. If those in the past are too far from your memory to get to, then let's try to focus on what happens in the future, okay? If ever we run into those from your past somehow, you can think on things then, but I won't push you. I'll just do my best to offer advice, and support."

She could do a great deal more really, but in this context, she'd rather focus on that, than say, how she may end up having to have Magnolia encased in living ruby, in case she reverted to a path of evil, and went completely off the rails. Which were something she didn't want to mention, because she sincerely hoped that it would not happen. Magnolia could be a force for good in some way, even with the sort of thing that she did, if utilized right, and given someone to help her shoulder things. At least that were her sincere hope.

As for the spotted boar that had came rumbling out of the brush Magnolia would have noticed early on. Spending time in these woods allowed her to be on alert more so than usual and so she were easily able to dodge the incoming piglet while warning Zeehva of it. Although it was a small piglet in likely cases. No harm done. Magnolia would shift the shadows around her, forcing the piglet to go back from where it would come. At least getting it out of this area. She was not one to harm innocent animals. Monsters and those that attacked her? Yes. But a piglet? Definitely not.

The piglet seemed rather confused by what she had just done, but it were a small mind. And a young one at that. So it simply just kept running the way it now faced, back towards where it came from. Which sounded like it were a good idea, as not long after, a deep, loud grunt from a larger boar were heard, before the weak, joyful squeal of the piglet. It seemed the parents had been going after it, and had Magnolia not send it back, they'd likely soon have to deal with an enlarged, angry wild boar. Which tended to be a bad idea to get riled up, even if both of them could likely deal with it somewhat simply.

Another sound caught Zeehva's attention though. A low rumbling at first, yet as she perked her ears, she could almost swear that she heard... Maybe the sound of carts on rocks? It were rather weak right now, but it sounded somewhat like that.

"Can you hear that? I think there might be a cart of wagon on a road somewhere nearby. Perhaps we're not that far from a town after all. Or at least someone who could tell us where we are.

    Should we follow it?"

    @Silicon Chimera

"I don't see why not, if it moves along the plot. Though I am new in this town, lured in by plant and crown, so I know not where the best meal is around.

Perhaps our path goes, to the place marked as *Sloppy Joe's*? It seems to serve beverages which much variety. perhaps they even have decent tea?"

It were pretty much in eye sight. A coffee shop it seemed, that looked rather homely and welcome, with the name of *Sloppy Joe's* hanging over the door.

A burly, well groomed stallion would be standing outside, humming along as he swept the area where the outside chairs stood, whilst inside, they'd be able to see a variety of beings, wandering towards a barista, serving out cups of coffee, and various kinds of what Orchid would assume were containers of food. Seemed as good a place as any, yes?

If she had no issues with that, he'd head towards that, though before they entered, he'd whistle out to Bellarouge, and have her jump up to lay on his back. Not everywhere allowed pets, but at times, they would accept it if they did not move around, or cause issues. Worst case, she'd have to stand outside for a bit, but it didn't seem to be an issue as they approached, and the muscular stallion greeted them with a warm smile, and a small wave. A good indicator of the place, he'd say.

They'd have to stand in line for a little, but there were a board behind the barista that showed what sort of things they served in here. Seemed to be varied coffees, a few variants of tea, water, and sodas. There were also baked goods, various meals, ranging from hay burgers to full on stews, and even meat dishes. An unusual sight for what seemed to be a pony establishment, but who were he to judge? Although there appeared to be a griffon in here though. A frail little thing, sweeping the floors, and cleaning off the tables in silence. He didn't seem to be comfy around others, and didn't say a word, nor made eye contact with anyone here. Unusual for their kind, really, but that seemed to be a theme with this place.

"Anything you wish to try, that catches your eye? Worry not of the price if you wish to also eat. Consider it my treat."

We went to the end of the hallway, with the last room being the storage room. Cimex turned to us and said “Now, both of you may feel uncomfortable, but don't worry. The storage room is just an obscure path to the secret room I talked about. Trust me on this okay?” that sounds very suspicious. There's guilt in her face, maybe she saw the ponies we passed just seconds ago as she's talking to me and Sorrow. I can't blame her, but I wanted to tell her there's an alternate way to sneak past them.

They might not be dead, but it still wasn't incredibly comforting to see so many just laying around, collapsed and unconscious. Especially the foal. It always felt wrong when something were done towards one of them, even tough this were thankfully not dangerous to the little one, it seemed.

She were also getting a little suspicious about all of this, with the setup they were going through. The changeling seemed to have some guilt on her face, as she lead them on, and this about having to go into a storage room, to get to a safe room? It were sounding a little fishy.

Legion were clear on their general opinion at least, even if Aurora might not be part of the ones of those that were skeptical: They did not trust this changeling. Something about this whole setup, set off some alarm bells with most of them too, and voices came to warn of trusting this one too much.

"Are you sure? Usually storage rooms only got one way in and out."

Her eyes would dart towards Razor, with the question lingering in her eyes about what they were supposed to do here. He claimed he knew her, and that they could trust her, but this were starting to feel like a trap. Were she really as trustworthy as he had claimed? Only he likely knew the answer to that, though he hopefully was right, if he kept on trusting her. Because if he weren't, they were soon going to be in big trouble.

"Here, let me help ya with that problem. Why don't you come rest on me. I am a bit taller than her in this form."

The grumbly were more than happy to take her up on the offer, and would grab out for her hoof before she were even truly within range. Once she were though, he'd grab hold tightly, and pull his tail out of the shark mare's muzzle, who figured that now were the time to let go of the weird thing she had found. Once it were up on her, it would climb up and not settle down, before it rested on Cacora's head. At which point, it would look down, to meet the gaze of the frizzle, still trying to reach up towards it with its fuzzy hands. Though now, it were well and truly out of range, and due to its form, were not good at climbing others. It were too smooth for that, in its current state, so the grumbly were safely out of reach.

It eventually gave up, and lowered the free floating hands. It would then give an annoyed glare to Cacora, with its single eye, before slithering around, and pop into a bush. It would find another target for its purpose, for now.

Seeing it leave, would make the grumbly let out a long sigh of relief, and lay flat down on its furred stomach, still up upon Cacora's head. It would also ramble incoherently, and poke her slightly on the top of her head with one of its wooden fingers, which seemed to make Rose giggle, and clap a little.

"Well well well, look at our very own lifesaver! Literally. The frizzles lay their eggs inside the grumblies. If it had gotten hold of this little guy, he would have gotten all five eggs shoved into his gullet, and been used as an incubator. You totally saved his life, and he's saying that he owes you big time for that. Seems like you've gotten yourself a devoted fan now, even if the frizzles aren't gonna like ya now. Maybe there's gonna come a few around to meddle with you later? Hehe, future fun time, maybe."

Wouldn't be long after this, that they'd reach a large, wooden table, with stumps around that could function as seats. On the table, were various wooden mugs, and a large can of warm, orange liquid. Pumpkin latte, to be exact.

There'd alsp be two bowls on the table. With one being filled with pony treats like candy, oats, and muffins, and the other filled with stuff like broken glass, rusty wires, poison joke, moss-covered bark stumps, and so on. Basically, nothing in that bowl, were considered edible by normal beings.

**When she mentions that it might be safer with Lyra he gives a very respectful but definite,** "Nope. Not happening. I don't even desire to think of what she would want from me if she found out I am a pure blooded human. And trust me, I can think of allot of things she would want from me. Many of them Not Safe For Wuna or NSFW for short. Plus, her obsession almost boarders on just plain crazy."

**He does take the opportunity to observe the area more carefully. Peaking just enough to see where near the castle they appeared. He does make sure no guards see him peaking though. Very self aware of his surroundings.**

His form wasn't that unusual to Vivid, but then again, she had been locked down for a long time. After a while, she just assumed there had come many weird races out during the years. As she were initially more focused on hi magic, and then the human aspect, she hadn't really given much thought to the moth-like look of Silverwing. Though in fairness, she had been away for millennia, and just recently gotten out. And if what Shining Armor and Cadence said of Twilight were true, she were busy these days making connections with creatures all over Equestria. Seemed reasonable to her to just assume these overgrown bug ponies were one of them, and simply a race she had just never run into yet.

That, and she sort of assumed that this disguise, or persona, or whatever it were that SIlverwing presented himself as, were a representation of a race that were actually in Equestria. Seemed odd to pick a form of something unseen.

"I'm not going to hoof you over to her. It would gain me nothing... Currently."

Her naturally alluring, teasing voice - a side effect of her demonic influence - made it hard sometimes to tell if she were kidding, but she would give a sly smile and just move along from there. Which honestly, didn't help either. Could be worse though. At least she were influenced by a more alluring aspect of the demons, and not the gruff, deep voice. That would simply be weird.

Moving ourt from here, they would not see anypony initially. But it wouldn't be long before a bat pony crossed a corner, munching on a caramelized apple. Likely his lunch break. And as he saw them, he paused. Nearly froze, as his brain were trying to wrap around the two weird ones he were having a look at right now, and formulate some sort of response to it. Like, were they enemies? Should he call the others? Had Star Spangle put a hallucination spell on him again, to have his fun? He'd need a bit of time to process.

"Sort of like a wagon.  More of a carriage or enclosed cart with the primary purpose of carrying creatures rather than goods," Cork explained.  "Very useful when you want to give your hooves or wings a rest and have a spare Bit or two to pay for the convenience.  The number of ponies in Equestria that can use teleportation magic is actually quite small.  So our land relies on public transportation such as taxis and trains for the most part."

"Wauv. That's smart. There's not a lot in Harrowmark who can teleport either, but we usually just walk, or go around in open wagons, pulled by larger creatures. Not that a lot walks out of the villages they're in. Been dangerous to do that, unless you were a courier, and most of that stuff is done by crow. Sounds like Equestria figured out how to make things a lot more convenient.

Is this a taxi, or a train? And what's the other one? Is it bigger?"

She may have to see it to believe it when it came to trains, but it were a rather marvelous invention, that she would in time, encounter and find wondrous. There were nothing like that she could draw comparisons to from back home. Not even a caravan, which were probably the closest one could get. The technology to make that sort of thing alone would be baffling. Though really, Harrowmark would get confused by a toaster. It wasn't really much it would take to blow her mind right now.

"Dragons.  That would be a dragon.  Princess Twilight and her friends worked hard for many Moons to build friendships long thought impossible by ponykind here in Equestria."

"Can you imagine one of those becoming a risen? Big diamond dogs are one thing, but that one would be a biiiig problem. Especially if it stayed smart.

It sounds like they're not that friendly? Or you had issues between you, that this princess of yours sorted out? We only have ponies and diamond dogs back home. This place is insanely diverse, and really open too, if you get in past enemies. Says a lot of good things about this place that you can get past what I'm guessing were some sort of really bad grudge or something, if royalty had to step in to sort it out.

...Is it like, prey and predator issues? I mean, just look at those teeth! I bet it could eat lots of ponies."

"Many make their homes here and it sure makes for a lively city," Cork chuckled.  The traffic on the streets was rather light this time of day, but by the time they finished getting Omen through the paces at the Court House, traffic was going to be a different story going home.  "Say darling, do you have a place you'll be staying?" the older mare inquired of the other.  A concern that needed to be mentioned due to her unusual entry into the land of light by way of mirror.  Plenty of overnights in the city were available until more permanent arrangements could be made.  If Omen didn't already plan to keep her house in Harrowmark and commute via mirror on the daily.

This one she didn't answer right away, as she were watching somepony with a strange box on the street, wherein music came out of. She had seen music boxes before, but this were really elaborate, and had a lot of sound to it. Also, it were placed right in front of a store with what she'd guess were musical instruments. She recognized a few of them at least, so she just assumed the rest of them were that too.

"...Huh? Oh, that. Nope, but I still got some gold hidden nearby. I were washing the gold I'd been able to get when the weird ones showed up, so I got some stuff on me. Just dropped it off somewhere else, as it got in the way when they were making the dress.

I dunno though. Like, four bracers and a lump the size of my hoof. How much is that worth here? Actually, just the lump. The bracers were a fun thing to scavenge in the ghost town I've bee living in the last few years, so those would be kind of nice to keep. Plus, they're heavy, so they help giving some good exercise, for legs and wings alike.

If the lump lasts for a few days, I bet I will have found some sort of work to do by then. I dunno how Equestria works, but long as there's menial labor to get done, there's a need for someone to do it. Maybe a farm needs some help, or I can help clear a road for boulders? Maybe someone needs help finding a magical trinket I can sniff out? Lots of things. Just have to get a smiole on my face, be positive, and try and warn them about this shimmer before it goes off someday. Equestrians seems to get really weirded out by skeletons for some reason. I dunno why though. We all got them. What's the big issue? It's not like I'm munching on flesh, or bleeding constantly.. I don't even got a stomach mouth. Just an innocent little see-through pony, hehe."

She got to some extend that it was weird, but really, it wasn't That bad in her mind. So they could see through her to some extend. Big deal. She were still a regular pony after all. She weren't judging them for their silly hats, so surely they could give her a pass too, yes? Cork and Gold definitely had at least. And they were super nice ponies to boot. This were the sort of coworkers she'd love to hang around. They weren't all judging and antsy. Confused at first maybe, but they got over it.

As much as we could explain our case to Ghilan, I’m afraid he’s outnumbered; Discord may be reformed, but probably doesn’t matter.”

“Maybe it would be better if we don’t say anything, or bring it up at all. The longma haven’t kept up with that matter in a long time. Perhaps it will be in everyone’s best interest to not bring up the past.”

    "Then that's settled. Omen?"

    "Yes?"

"Other longma don't like Discord right now, and that might make them think badly about Sen, Lin, and Ghilan. You don't want them to be hurt, or banished, right?"

    "No."

"Then all you have to do, is not to talk about Discord when you are around other longma. And if they ask, just don't tell them. It isn't lying, if you just don't say something, right?"

"I understand. Master Discord told me this too sometimes."

"Yes, see? It's just like when you were asked about what you could share earlier, by Tomb. So just do the same with this subject."

Omen nodded. She understood, and would no longer bring up the matter of Discord, around other longma. It were restricting her speech some perhaps, but it were for the betterment of them all, and it wasn't as if Rosa were lying. It would hurt her friends, were she to be open about this, so it were best to just feint ignorance.

“Before you ask, those little fillies and colts asked if I could juggle, make balloon animals, ride a unicycle, or do any combination of those things. I don’t even know what a unicycle is!”

“Seriously? All that time spent traveling Equestria and you don’t know what that is?” Lin paused to think about the incredibly odd circumstances that would make her brother unaware of what a balloon is, but after a while, maybe there was a reason for it. “Imagine a seat with a wheel. Now think of yourself sitting on it while you're holding a- Actually, don't imagine anything further than the first thing I said.”

"Balloons are stretchy bags of thin rubber, in which you blow air to make them large, and if you use the right gas, also float. If you use your breath, they tend to stick to the ground, which can be good for certain birthdays. Balloon animals are when you use specific elongated ones, and with some technique, can fold several into one another, to make an animal shape. They're highly popular with kids of most races, not including griffon and dragons. Sharp claws, you see. And dragon whelps have an instinctual want to poke at things, and hunt. They can be rather bratty.

And juggling is essentially throwing various objects into the air, catching them, and then keep that going. Usually in a pattern so that you use the same hands for around 3-6 objects, and keep them in constant motion. It is wildly more difficult than it looks, and the last time I tried, I ended up unconscious."

Explaining helped him stifle his laughter, though it were still tempting to chuckle some, at the very least. There were just something endearing about his cluelessness, though Rosa felt sure that when one day he actually saw juggling, Sen may well be impressed. It wasn't as easy as he had assumed, at least. Not even with something as simple as three bowling pins.

    On 2021-02-21 at 1:54 PM, EQ_Theta said:

“I don’t want to know what you’re thinking about,” the longma sighed before turning to Rosa. “Anyways, I caught a glimpse of you two talking earlier and Lin looked worried for a second. Is something wrong?”

"No, no need to worry. We have just made a deal with omen about not mentioning Discord around other longma. Just so that it doesn't potentially sour the meeting with the elder council, if they learn you associate with a former servant of his. From what Lin said, the story between your kins would likely mean that a bunch of traditionalists, would be less inclined to keep an open mind."

They would soon be at the end of the line, which went by rather fast. The wait line for the developed picture were something else, but the picture itself did not take long, most of the time, and soon enough they'd be able to see the one in charge. An elderly stallion, with a small pair of glasses at the end of his wrinkled, grey muzzle, and a camera stand. An old school version, which were a little cumbersome to wander around with, but professionals loved it. Made for clearer, more professional work they claimed, though of course, some just liked the novelty. At least it wasn't a black and white camera. Artistic types like that could get tedious.

"I also know a side entrance to the city from the forest with bit less ponies along the way." "Though I still need to explain the situation to Charir before we get there." she also needed to think a second about how to explain Charir to everyone else, but she had some kind of idea already and would tell Leviathan too when it was time for it.

"Do you stash your treasure there, or are we going to rob the place?"

It was a fair question to ask really. They were dragons, and had a general want to hoard. A mansion meant that someone in there likely had a big load of gold and other valuables, so it were only fair to go by that, and assume that Ruby might think that the bird and his boss being absent, made it a perfect time to rob it. Personally, Leviathan didn't think it worth the bother to do that, but who were she to judge? If Ruby wanted to deal with the law, that was on her. If ever they knew that she were two different forms, that were.

"And I'm not worried that he might get scared of them. Why would he be, since all he's seen so far, is them needing help from stronger beings than themselves. Along with them being prey, as you say.

And the prey part is what concerns me. It's not worth the effort, to go through the trouble, that comes from him trying to snack on a pony in Canterlot. Or attack one of them for looking at him funny. Sneering and threatening is fine. They expect that from us. But I'd rather not have a couple of princesses, and a satchel of harmony, looking to turn us into stone.

So please. Just tell him to be indifferent towards these prey for now, and if they seem to look at him like he's worth less than them, or they're disgusted, make him give them his best snarl. They might expect it, but it always makes them jump. It's pretty satisfying, actually."

"It would sadden me to see you leave, and I believe Crow would perhaps miss you too. Yet I understand your perspective on things, and if there is a way for you to find peace, I will help you, in every which way I can. I could hardly call myself your friend, were I not willing to help you with something you are justifiably yearning for."

It were as she suspected then. A shame in a sense, though it were a great omen for him, and she should be happy about that. It would be selfish of her to instead feel saddened over her want to have him as a friend.

"Pray tell then: If she cannot help, but perhaps her family could, what then? Would you be willing to travel to where they reside, to find your answer? I know you have been hesitant about leaving the area before, and even going in here were a push. If you were required to go further, would you be able to? I hope it will not come to this, but her talks of her family having their main home within these lands, makes me think they may have a seat of power, and this area does not have that aura that she have. It may be far from this area."

Were she herself able to go with  him if it were? She were not certain, but she'd like to be there to support him. It were just that she had things to do here too, and she had to find some way to give herself time if it were. Perhaps she could find herself some assistants among  the animal, who could help her with the worst? A thought to keep in mind until later, if needed.

They greeted Onache, and for the meat, both cooked and the raw would be taken, as they could eat both, and while cooked tasted bit better, they weren't picky. Even the bones would get eaten, but not before Trox used his metal arm to crush them into smaller pieces. They of course thanked her for doing this for them, but it was more formal sounding thanks than something someone truly desperate would say.

She simply observed the two as they ate, and sat down in the corner once more.

"It seems like you are improving. Good. It would hardly do you any good if you were stuck here for days on end, without sign of improvement.

I assume in my absence, you had a talk of my motives, and whatever or not I am worth trusting?"

She'd give them a few moments of silence to respond, or potentially even deny her claims. Didn't matter to her whatever they said. She would proceed the same, once she were done correcting her attire, in those few moments.

"You don't think me dense, do you? You come out of nowhere, from a world where trust is suicidal, and run into one like me. A creature you don't know what are, who have shown to brazenly meddle with others heads. I find it inconceivable to think that anyone but a fool would trust me on the spot then, and I do not insult your intellect by thinking you would. I expect you to have the same curtsey towards me.

So, let us stop this threading around, and cut to the chase then: I have a vested interest in helping you, because it helps me too. My position with these ponies are frail and weak. A potential bond in its infancy. To gain further ground, and secure my small part of the forest to myself, rather than have it overrun by pesky guards. I want to raise a hive and a sanctuary, yet that sort will require a certain degree of trust with them, and these ponies value helping others, and friendship. They see me helping you to establish yourselves, and then in turn, they are likely to be lenient towards me.

So yes, I am using you. However, is that truly a bad thing? It is still helping you, and will give you a powerful ally in the times ahead. The one one you currently have, mind you. And it does not make my want to help you any less sincere. It simply means that we both gain from this."

Why not be straight forward by this point? Sure she could change their mind, but it were simpler if they did not run around with worries of what her plans might be for them. Were she upfront, this could be moved past, without her needing to maintain a set of memories for them, that made them think her more or less their deity. It would not hold in the long run, and would likely only make her position weaker.

    @Neoeryn

A humming went calmly through Ponyville, drawing the eyes of a few ponies here and there. The sound came from a moving cloud it seemed, travelling in ground level. It glowed a soft green, and underneath the elongated cloud (roughly three meters long), floated a series of fresh lily pads, dripping with water that didn't really come from anywhere sensible.

As the cloud travelled calmly through town, anyone who came in contact with it, would sit down, and seem to space out, in a completely relaxed state. As if their worries and obligations had been lifted from their shoulders for a time, by this odd anomaly.

It seemed harmless, but the ponies around still did what they could to get out of its way fast. Barring a few sorts who had seen the effect, and could really do with a few moments of peace.

Once in a while as it travelled through, a calming, melodic voice would let some words flow through town, carrying a light, female voice.

"Child, oh child, where may you be?  Where may I find you, oh, spirit so free? Ive come from afar, though yet I can't see. That sweet, dear child, of calamity."

It would repeat every few minutes, with the little song reaching far and wide in town, as the cloud passed through. For most, it wouldn't make much sense. But a certain draconequus should know who it were this one were searching for. Both of them frankly should, seeing as Discord lived in this town, but what had he to fear?

Everything were going to be okay.

Blitz were currently having a blast in a foals only playground of plastic balls, with some slides and such buried within the area.

In other words, she weren't listening to a single word being said to her right now. Though the mare at the counter did, so she at least knew now for sure that this one were in after Blitz. Which just made her raise an eyebrow even further.

On 2021-02-21 at 12:25 AM, Cali said:

"Uh, I guess I'm one of...Blitz's friends. Whats on the menu? Some others are coming..." she said awkwardly as she pulled out entire gold bars and placed them on the counter. She had no idea how this place worked in terms of money. Gold bars would do probably. They had the United States seal on them. Guess where she got them. "I don't understand how anything works around here. If these bars are too much I can just break off a small piece and pay with that, then. But I am hungry. I haven't eaten in months, not that I really have to eat but still...what ya got?" she took upon a more of a southern, Texan accent as she asked that question.

She wouldn't say anything for a time, until her coworker elbowed her, and she'd awkwardly clear her throat.

"Right, right... Sorry, we're not used to see those two have friends. They-"

Her words were cut off, when the gold bar were placed on the counter, and she went totally mute. This felt a good deal over her paygrade. Which were why it were probably best that a slightly older mare tapped her on the back, and made her stand aside, that she may take over. A more friendly one this too, as she kept an open mind, and looked calmly at Cali, behind her halfmoon glasses.

"Sorry about that miss. I am her supervisor, and it's a pleasure to see you. A full gold bar would likely buy you everything on the menu, around three times, so I would say that a minor amount would likely be better. If you would please look at the board behind me, you can see what we have of food, and I can tell you how much would be needed for that.

If you are very hungry, I would suggest perhaps going for a Big Bonanza meal. There are three hayburgers, two extra large hayfries, a grand soda, a bowl of dipping sauce of your own choice, and a fourty pack of veggie nuggets. It's usually for families, but if you're starved, it might do the trick. And would amount to a slice roughly... This big."

She'd indicate where she meant on the bar. A fairly reasonable amount. This wasn't a high end restaurant either. It were a simple, down to earth family establishment. That wouldn't last if they jacked up the prices, right? Silly idea right there, and something that had been the downfall of similar places, who attempted to do it to lure more high end clientele in. Never ended up going well in the long run, but hey: Less competition.

Blue, who walked behind Luna as Molotov stared at her, and hearing he was examining her body with some kind of glasses, her wings unconsciously unfurled, feathers spread in its gracious colors of yellow and blue, her tail quickly tucked between her legs. It didn't help when Light decided to chime in as he and Molotov began talking about things she couldn't comprehend, their words bounded all over her brain. She trembled, trying to get her body to obey so she could ran away from the stallions. The last thing she would want to happen is someone messing with her body or her body disintegrating in a flash of light.

“Um...I..think so...” she said through a fake smile filled with worry, ”I think it doesn't hurt to try your inventions, M-Molotov...and to try the 'Iris' you talked about, Light"

"Turning into light isn't really a big deal. It's just releasing all your energy. Any mad scientist can get that done. It's that part about turning back solid that's the rub, yeah. If I knew how they did that, I'd be able to get some interesting experiments done for sure. Not on ponies though. I ain't crazy. But just imagine the sort of robots one could have with that sort of ability. They could be in a special capsule up near the capsule, and then whenever there were issues, the guards could dispatch them as quickly engaging backup. Just imagine how helpful that'd be to smaller communities and towns, without many, if any, guards in the area? Not to speak about the movers. Could get a whole ton of ore from one place to another, in the blink of an eye, without having to deal with that pesky teleportation magic."

Molotov were feeling positively giddy and spry as they chatted about this. Always lovely to have a scientific talk with someone who could appreciate it, and fire back with something interesting in turn. Though it seemed to make Blue a little uncomfortable. He could see it both with his exposed, regular left eye, and then the one covered by his specialized eyewear. A funny construction that had a myriad of various glasses in layers in front of his eye, with small levers protruding from the top and side that he could adjust to account for various things he needed to see. Be it normal, thermal, x-ray, zoom, that sort. It were extremely helpful for his work, but he tended to use it everywhere. And at this point, it were more or less an automated act to adjust it with his magic, more often than not. It barely even registered anymore, unless he tried to do something very specific.

"Oh man, sure are a lot of good ideas here. But not the one about experimenting on you, Blue. That'd be crazy talk. The sort of thing I'm talking about would first have to be build, then tested, then retested at least fifty more times under various conditions, and then a few more just to add some variables. And that's before the first test on any live tissue even begins. This whole thing would take a comfy ten years before I'd consider it safe for any sort of pony to use, and even then I figure it's just gonna need to be for wing amputees in the army, who got a special permit for it. I were just spit-balling ideas before. Ain't gonna try anything like this on you. That'd be crazy talk. Only pony I've ever inserted experimental technology into, is myself. Had a surgeon that owed me a favor help set the wings in on my back.

Got me laying down for months after that, and it tingles in my spine when there's a thundercloud nearby, but it worked. Only an 11.7% chance it would have paralyzed me for life. Still nothing I'd do to others though. They're still in their testing stage, and I'm the subject.

So yeah, don't worry that noggin of yours Blue. I ain't gonna harm a hair on ya. Pretty sure if I tried anything, Luna here would beat kick me into next week too, eh?"

Now come on then Light, let's stop messing with the poor mare before she ends up thinking we're crazy or something. Y'know, crazier than somepony saying they died three times is, since that'd be real crazy talk. Though I'm totally game for trying this sort on another creature, once the testing phase is done. You ever considered what a mechanical spider, or mosquioto, travelling at the speed of light would be like? Beyond the sort to make most folks scared outta their good skin?"

Her eyes narrowed as she were told that these two might be sided with her so-called *father*. Which might mean that they know where he were, and how to find him. The sort of information she'd like to beat out of them, if she had the chance. Which sadly she did not. She did not have the physical power needed for that, and not the right tools at hoof to try it. The half-broken bat were still at the embassy, as an example. So all she had right now, were a knife, and a silver cuff. So unless these two were werewolves, there weren't much of a threat that she could tie them down, or break their kneecaps, and force them to talk. Though she might be able to get some strategic stabbings in. The best strategy likely being to stab one of them fatally, and then the other in less important places, to get his tongue slipping.

Were she going to do that though? Depended on how things went. It were likely still a bad idea, and would end up biting her in the flank. Might well be best that she just observed, and weren't seen. Which for now, were her plan. Nothing too bad seemed to happen thus far, after all. So far, Flog - a name indicating he were definitely not a moral pony - were just beaten up, and questioned. Long as he spoke, he'd likely stay somewhat safe. Or at least the same. His issues would come if he got reluctant, or had nothing more to say. Couldn't just leave witnesses after all, right? Best to hear what she could learn until then, and then try and juggle with her own morality, on when, and if, she would interfere.

Judging by Piecey's expression as she tries the drink without the bubbles, it may be more accurate that she wasn't fond of the flavor more than the presence of bubbles. Maybe a different flavor next time?

"hmm... Might be the taste then, and not the bubbles. They seemed to like strawberry earlier, so maybe I can find something that tastes like that? Sadly can't do it today, but I'll try and make sure to have more flavors to pick from next time."

It was a shame that this meant that Piecey couldn't get a treat like the others though. Had to be something else she could get then, maybe? She may have some fruit in her bag that she had prepared for when she got Lacuna that she could use. Might be his snacks, but she could get more.

She'd go and check, and true enough, she did have a small bag of various fruit pieces. Including some strawberries, that she could get out, along with a few slices or orange, and mango. Of course, Peal were gonna have to be given some strawberry too, or she'd likely try and nick them, but hopefully it would still be okay. They seemed to be fine with sharing, and Peal were also a little distracted, by looking into the bubbling water like it were some sort of lava lamp. It were frankly adorable, and just good to see. The small ones had been cherry all the time she had seen them, though shy on occasion, but the rest were really starting to light up too. Even Ardee, who seemed to be the one who in her experience, had the biggest issue trying to relax, and trust that things would go well.

It really were like working with a younger version of her older sister.

Elef looks over and asks, "How do ponies get their marks? All the other thestrals at the festival had marks, except for the very young ones, and they were all fairly similar. Do you choose what mark you get?"

"Ponies get their cutie mark, when they find out something they are especially good at, or some kind of real passion. Most get it before they turn ten, but for some, it takes longer to find their mark, because you have to experience a lot of things, to find out what your special talent are.

You all had to focus on running away, and staying alive, so you haven't had the chance to try things, and try and get your mark. But don't you worry, okay? It's safe now, and we'll make sure that you learn and try many things. And then eventually, you will get your cutie marks too."

She'd say this, as she took out the fruit pieces, and presented them to Piecey, to see if this were better. It were generally sweet, juicy fruits, so that might be well. And if say, she had a preference for the orange, she also had a taste to work with, for the next time they tried soda/juice.

As for the others, she said her piece to them with a smile on her lips, and genuine sincerity, because she were sure that they would find their marks. She knew Ardee were worried they didn't, as they might not classify as *real ponies*, as she put it, but Void would continue to wholeheartedly reject that notion. They were as real as her or Vale were, and no matter how long it might take, she would make sure that they would feel that. Especially Ardee, who needed that more than the rest, she'd think.

"Ah yes, the traitors. Sadly some we've had the displeasure of meeting. I am not saying that their cowardice is not somewhat understandable, but it does not make me like them any more, nor regret treating them the way that I have.

I didn't kill any of them though. Earth Mother be praised, I have yet been required to go that far. But I have still been protective, and therefore, also rather direct with them, once it became clear that they would not listen to reason, and were clear threats to Brittle. Been nothing but an endless cycle of repelling and running ever since. Blessed be this place, where there is now finally room to breathe freely."

4 hours ago, Illiad Easle said:

One of the other ponies stepped up, an earth pony who looked more at home in an office than a field. He looked over a clipboard, "That's my job I suppose. Each cycle we rotate the fields after the harvest, the top most growing layer gets dumped, each of the other layers move up, and we get a fresh layer of new earth from wherever we've found ourselves. Then we get the new crops planted, even with all of us that's a good few days to plant the whole area. Here on the bottom layer especially, we get the fresh dirt, and we also get the more experimental crops. Between what we gather from below and what the researchers come up with we have to try and see if they can be grown sustainably as a new principal crop for the project. So we grow all sorts of things here while the other layers grow mostly one crop each."

Briar heard the one one approach, and turned to face him. Seemingly some figure of authority here, judging by what he would assume were a clipboard in his hooves. Briar had sharp senses, but he were not perfect in his *sight*.  He could tell that there were a wooden rectangle in his hooves, and there were a distinct sound of paper, as well as a faint smell of ink that he could work with. Yet it may just as well be a serving tray with a printed piece of paper in, to lay between the tray and the food itself. He sort of had to work with what made the most sense currently.

"So we are standing upon the place where it all begins then? Fresh dirt, with new seeds which requires planting, and care? Several varied ones in fact, of which some are tests, and may be useful, if one can properly cultivate them?

Today is going to be a grand day indeed."

He were not being sarcastic here. Briar had a happy smile, and tone in his voice, as he heard about all the work that were required here, in what were essentially the beginning of any kind of farm season. Preparing the fields, sow the seeds, and ensure things were both taken care of, and if you grew multiple crops, attempt to keep things within their own areas, to not cause issues. Different plants tended to need different care after all.

"I can assure you that I mean that with gleeful anticipation, sir. I were raised doing work near constantly, and though I do not miss the metaphorical, and literal, chains, I do still find a longing to work. It fills me with purpose, I suppose you might say. However can I help first? If there are seeds which needs to be laid in rows, I can make use of my vines to make then, and plant the seeds within with ease. Perhaps you need a closed off area for some special crops, that needs to be build? If there are seeds which seems they may hardly make it in unfamiliar grounds, perhaps I could even help there? I have my ways of helping with such issues, in a limited scope.

However I may help the most, you need only ask, and it shall be done. And worry not if it takes a while. I much prefer a long day's worth of work, than lingering in a room. It is against my instincts to stagnate for too long."

Another reason why he had travelled so much. Sure he also wanted to try and find some way to get sight - at some point by finding Discord, and beg of his assistance, but that were not happening now - and wished to experience the world he had been banished into, but truly, he were also motivated by having a hard time simply being idle. He had to move around, or at the very least work, to feel at ease. A side effect of both his upbringing, which had gotten him used to keeping active and working for even a sliver of appreciation, and what his subtype were. Vinemasters tended to be hard workers, that rarely didn't have something to do. And while he may be a mutation of them, he were at heart, still of their branch, no pun intended.

"Bellarouge have no owner, but I see her as my friend. Met her when she were a kitten, and ended up smitten, so now we travel along til the end."

Bellarouge were very receptive to the petting given to her. Up to and including, pushing her head into the hoof being used to caress her soft fur. She seemed a fan of this mare, and for the zebra, that were as good of an endorsement as any.

"My name is Orchid Azhera. A pleasure to meet ya."

He'd give the mare a smile, and move in a little closer, to get a better look at her. Something which made him feel... Odd. As if there were this weird aura around this one, that didn't make her feel quite like a regular mare should be. Highly peculiar, yet nothing that rang alarm bells. It were just a strange observation.

"Now I'm in range, your aura feels strange. There are more to you than the eye can see, would you not agree? Might I ask what it might be? I mean no harm, or to raise alarm, I am merely curious you see."

I was going to question her what's she's doing when she uttered the password Sorrow used and the wall...well...it just made a hole in a shape of a doorway (minus the door), and leading to that doorway looks what it seems to be another lobby.

Okay, so plus side: She knew Razor apparently, and were willing to help. Beyond that however, she also seemed to have secret rooms in her inn, which made Sorrow question who this Cimex were, that she needed something like this. Were she some sort of smuggler? Regular beings didn't need these sorts of secret rooms. Though she weren't exactly in a position to judge right now, seeing as they needed the room.

Made her wonder how Razor ever met her... A question that he would have to be faced with soon, once they got the peace and quiet to do so. If he were willing to talk that were, when this mare might end up having to be faced with him being dead, but not gone. That might cause some friction.

She would raise an eyebrow at her sayings before Magnolia spoke. "Your husband was...quite the hero it seems. He saved many from fate. He had a good life...I am sure of it. At least, I hope so. I don't think he would want you to be in this...state but that is quite understandable why you are so. Although I am sure he would want...you to move on at some point. Easy for me to say...I still haven't moved on....it's been so long I can't even count. And for you its been...8 or 9 years? Mine's longer...but yours is painful." Magnolia would force a rather pained grin. Almost trying to make light of the situation but truthfully, there was no way she really could. At least in her mind.

"...It's been 7 months, and three days since he died."

Zeehva felt a sadness befall her again, but tears did not leave her being. There were no more to shed right now, even if the memory that now came in, regarded the funeral. An event in which she had barely been able to move, but she had been stubborn, and the family understanding of her position. So they had arranged for her to be able to be there, as he were returned to the earth. A somber occasion, with a lot of silent tears from his friends, family, and those whom he had helped. It were a sign of respect to not voice their sorrow as the funeral progressed, and he were put on the pyre, even though she nearly failed several times. It had felt like everything were pain, and there existed no hope, nor way forward. To see the one whom she had wished more than anything, to grow old and tired with, now burning peacefully... Were it not because her want to send him off with the dignity he deserved, per tradition, were stronger than her want to scream, she could not have gotten through it.

When the ceremony were over though... Her wails were impossible to miss, and she had needed the sympathy given to her by the other attendants, along with that of both his family, and her own, to get through the day.

"I wished to just sit in my misery, and yearn for his memory, but h-his brother were right. He would not wish for me to cling on to something impossible, and just endure pain. He'd want me to find something new to cling to, and use that to find a way forward.

The only thing I had, was a want for justice. It drove me through the treatments, and eventually here to Equestria, after Scarcity sent me a letter. I don't know how she heard of this, but she promised me answers, and gave me a snippet of information to begin with, to prove she were serious. She didn't demand anything of me. Just offered her condolences, and some help, if I were willing to earn it.

That were 4 months ago. I have been w-working odd jobs for her since. Everything seemed to be things that would help others, so I didn't mind, but... It's sadly not been as long as you m-might have thought."

On 2021-02-19 at 1:29 AM, Magnolia said:

Magnolia would stay silent for a bit. Her eyes shaking slightly as she replayed some of the events over in her mind. Not only that, but also of the others she has encountered on her journeys. Most innocent. Some weren't though. Some deserved it. She stammered slightly at that and sighed deeply at her failure to wash the sadness away from within. Then, Magnolia would speak again. "I never released...the magic of a select few. I've met a few as you would say...evil ones in my time. One of them they called the 'Hook'. The Hook as he truly was, a failed sailor who resorted to seeking revenge on those who cast him out. He would...rip the flesh of those that encountered him with his hook, of which he lost his leg and mutilated it...with his hook and replaced it with a horrifying...Contraption... I don't...exactly remember how I came across him but he was alone on a loading dock...covered in blood. He was insane...in every sense of word. And for that, I drained him...of his magic and left him there to be forever weak and fraile...he can't harm anyone anymore...it was rumoured he was discovered by the law not long after...He is too weak to harm anyone else...I believe he is long...gone..." she would shudder a bit, remembering the way the blood that covered that insane stallion, the way it reflected in the light. It always haunted her. Even though it was several years ago. It was still painful. She put her hoof to her chest for a moment, but then continued.

"Other thieves...bandits...who tried to assault me lost their magic as well. One Unicorn, one Pegasi. I later found out...that they were in one of the Mafias in Manehattan. They were wanted for the murder of a police officer...their descriptions matched exactly. Although they were young. Too young to have done such things...I drained them of their magic too. I left their weak...fraile forms infront of one of the police stations. Although that was years ago, I still didn't do...all that bad right?" Magnolia would frown at that, hoping that she did do good after all. "There were others too...mostly bandits...thieves all each with their own story to tell...in total within me...I have the speed of 3 pegasi...the strength of 2 Earth ponies...and the magic of 4 unicorns...but the others I drained...now have their magic back. I am sure they are...quite happy. At least I hope...time has rendered it impossible for me to go back and fix what I did...but I did what I did, in the moment." Magnolia nodded as they started to enter the forst.

Magnolia had her own issues to juggle with however, and Zeehva would wander close to her, as the mare spoke up about some of the things she had done, and what she still retained, even after letting go of much of the magic she had *borrowed*. A rather... Delicate position she were in, when it came to what she had decided to withhold, and one which to some, would be seen as abhorrent. It had to be all that were let go, or she would just be a monster laying low for a while, right?

Thankfully, she weren't as shortsighted as this. Which she would voice out too, once there were a lull in Magnolia's words, after it sounded like she were done. Zeehva did not wish to interrupt her as she spoke of something that were clearly weighing on her, in one way or another.

"Some would judge you for this. There are those who don't think there is a reasonable excuse to harm others, no matter what they did, but I am... Well, my morals a-aren't that short sighted. The Hook sounded like it were best to keep frail, for his sake and that of others. Those who committed murder at such a young age, were probably best off not being able to harm others. Especially the guards.

Some of them, I don't think can be helped. And if they can't, it's best to not have them hurting others. It's a little moral grey zone I suppose, but look at how Equestria deals with some criminals. Banishment from the dimension. T-Turned to stone. There are acceptable ways to punish others, and you did the best you could with these. Though if ever you hear that some of those you harmed may have been reformed, I would encourage you to look them up. J-Just see for yourself if they have changed, and if so, try to give them back some of what they lost. Maybe not enough to be their full selves, but e-enough to do things more normally.

I'll be happy to go around with you, and see how some might have ended up, Magnolia. When you're ready, o-of course. I don't want to push you.

And if it weighs you down... W-Well, remember that even the good creatures aren't flawless. We're just trying to do the best that we can, with the skills we have. You did too, when it came to those you chose to keep weakened. Maybe not always something that worked out perfectly, but you can't see the future. Sometimes, we j-just have to go by what we think is best, and hope we're right."

Ancestors knew that she wasn't perfect either. She had done things she were not proud of, and harmed some who did not deserve it as much as it had ended up being. But she could only do what she thought were best. Magnolia were the same in some ways here, and it were a struggle she'd have to juggle with. Hopefully it would help when she got some input from Zeehva, as they went on to try and make her the best mare that she could be.

On 2021-02-19 at 1:29 AM, Magnolia said:

Magnolia's magenta eyes scanned the treeline. The shadows distorting slightly as Magnolia stepped forward like pawns submitting to a queen. Then she would address what Zeehva spoke of the timber wolves. She spoke with confidence, shifting her manner of speaking from before. "Whatever comes our way...we shall handle it. I've dealt with creatures before...I usually assume that form of an extinct Direwolf to ward them off sometimes...or I just use my shadows to do my bidding. Whichever way I feel, really. You have nothing to worry. Now, let us walk forward." she ended her words on a more hopeful note.

And like that, they moved into the woods.

She would soon have something to deal with, as a fierce presence lurked in the forest, and began to move towards them. The undergrowth rustled as the creature got nearer and nearer, rapidly moving through the brush towards the unsuspecting ponies.

Soon, the quick creature would be upon them, and burst out through a nearby bush, to reveal: A piglet. A spotted boar piglet, from the looks of things, that kept on running, until it impacted Magnolia with its snout. In case she hadn't stopped it in advance that were. It'd fall down to the ground with a surprised oink by then. Seemed to have been a matter of it running around and playing, or seeking them out. Which might mean they had boar farmers in the area. Which were some sort of civilization.

“Discord’s influence was felt to the longma, even if we never personally saw it. There was a time when the forest didn’t feel right. Trees floating, fish flying… Some of the longma back home were driven to insanity trying to piece together why those things happened. Why the world was flipped, turned upside down, was a mystery.”

“I didn’t think it could be more than a fun performance, but I may be inclined to think of it as just that. Fun and enjoyable. Thank you for the show, Cheshire; we’re definitely hoping we could catch another one in the future.”

"Thankfully, his madness didn't go far outside of Ponyville after he came back, before he got reformed, so I didn't see as much of his madness. It sounds like your people had a rough time with it though. Hopefully, that will never happen again.

Maybe next we meet, we can exchange some stories. I'm sure there's something less doom and gloom we can discuss."

After Cheshire had taken off, Rosa would have gotten a contemplating look over his face, as he considered what they had just been told about Discord's impact on the longma. He would hae something to say about this, but he would wait for a minor lull in the conversation as they wandered on, and reached the line. At that point, he would turn to the others briefly, and nod vaguely. An indiactor that he had thought on this enough to make up his mind, on whatever or not he would pursue the discussion.

"With his impact being what it were, have you considered it might be best that Omen does not mention Discord, when around your kind? Especially not with the affix of master? I don't wish to step on claws here, but if the history is that grim, would it perhaps not simply sour things, if she declares that sort of allegiance? Especially as they may perhaps worry then, that he will come around them, and this time, his actions be more direct, than the wide-spread influence of old? Not to mention the implications for you specifically, if the council of elders learn that you associate with a servant/creation of his?"

He were directing this question to the longma, as this were their question to answer. In case they agreed on things, it then would come down to asking Omen to have this consideration towards the longma. Not just for her own sake, but for that of politics, as well as her friends. It could cause quite the grim ripple effect for several beings if she were too open about this, and to him, it did not sound like it would be a good thing. For anyone involved. Which included Ghilan, who might get forcefully removed from his post, for endorsing others of his kind, to be around Omen.

Before she could continue, her sights turned to Sen, who was pulled away from the group by several young fillies and colts who have mistaken him for an actual clown. Though Sen wouldn’t try to scare the little ones away, he was struggling to break the news to them that he isn’t a comical entertainer. Lin was speaking out loud, initially airing her thoughts to Rosa before she’d try to get his attention on Sen.

“Speaking of pictures, I was hoping to preserve that look my brother has right now. Look.”

Yes, I like pie, and no, I’m not a clown…. Maybe it would be best if you go back to your parents before they start worrying about where you went…. Fine, but only one honk each, okay?

The little fillies and colts took turns finding amusement with Sen’s gag nose before chuckling and running off. By then, Sen retuned to the queue and to the others, though he doesn’t seem too amused with the cheeky grin Lin is sporting, along with her attempting to stifle her laugh.

“Please tell me you didn’t see all of that.”

They would soon be interrupted however, as a bunch of young foals would have mistaken Sen for a clown, and were gleefully anticipating a show of some kind. Not an unreasonable assumption really. He looked the part, if you neglected his lack of silly clothes, and this were a carnival. For young minds like that, it probably just made sense that he were part of the festivities.

It were good that Sen were accommodating them though. He were a little dismissive, granted, but overall, he went along to some degree, such as letting them honk his nose. At which point, even though he might have not taken notice of it, the others might find that there were a minor flash happening a few times, as this went on. Rosa could even pinpoint where it were from exactly, before seeing it, as his ears caught the sound. Something which made him face the soon approaching Sen with a wide, truly pleased smile. Something had just made him very happy, and the glimmer in his eyes told that he were just dying to tell Sen about it.

"Do yourself a favor, and turn around for a moment."

If Sen did so, he'd find there were another filly still lingering. Yet this one were some way from him, and were holding a camera. One that she had used to take some pictures as his little performance went on.

She'd look up at them with a wide grin, showing that she lacked one of her teeth to the right in her upper row, and then she ran into the photo area. Right after snapping one last picture of Sen of course. This were something that you didn't see every day, so of course she were going to take the chance to snap a memory more. They wouldn't be able to get to her before the last part of her long, white tail had come in there too, but Rosa were sure they'd meet her soon. After all, they were in line to go right into where she had gone. Might be there'd even be something special for them to see, once they arrived.

"This is going to be priceless."

He were trying to stifle a laugh too, but it were still managing to escape his muzzle every now and again. And the anticipation now. Man, it were almost painful how much he wanted to go up and see these pictures now. Tonight just got better and better.

And when it came to Sen, he could at least be happy to see that while his sister and the thestral were trying not to laugh openly in his face, Omen and Shrimp weren't laughing. They mainly just looked confused, and somewhat neutral at him, with the latter also glancing towards Lin and Rosa. Shrimp weren't sure what were going on, in all honesty. It didn't seem like any of them were hurt though, so that were good, yes?

    @Midnight_Aurora

The ecosystem wasn't meant to hunt things like Cacora. The animals were still small, and thrived off of one another, with the light creatures seemingly acting as a kind of bee, moving polled between the plants. All in all, the entire area were rather peaceful. As well as massive, as they would wander hundreds of meters inside what on the outside, would clearly be a room that should be at most, ten meters deep. Draconequui and their weird little pocket dimensions.

The shark mare had a blast as they moved through though. Mingling with various animals, and rolling through the plants. Some of which did end up sticking to her, and then seemingly fall off again, once she had moved for a time, so they could get to new areas. Seemed like she even found a new sort of animal, than what were at the start, as she'd eventually come around with what could at best be described as a furry imp, with tree branches for ears, and gnarly, wooden hands. The language it spoke weren't easy to discern, but the waving of it's small arms and legs, as it were upside down in the air, did not make it seem happy. Why it were upside down? The mare had grabbed hold of it's tail, and held it in her teeth, presenting it to the others.

    "Special frog?"

"Nah, that's a grumbly. They go around and tend to the berry bushes. And get chased by the frizzlers."

One of those seemed to show up, and were a one eyed, elongated creature, that seemed to be made of five eggs stacked on top of one another. It had free floating hands near it, that reached up towards the grumbly. One who were not much more interested in not getting down, but trying to climb the shark mare. It did not seem a fan of this creature, even if it didn't really seem to have a mouth, or anything else that'd make it dangerous. Why, the hands were even fuzzy, like the sort of thing you'd see on fuzzy dice.

"Lyra... I think I have heard of her. Obsessed with humans, even if most consider them nothing but fairy tales. Depending on how she is, I would think it may prove a somewhat safe haven for you, if you approached her looking like one. Fanatics tends to enjoy keeping the objects of their affection out of the reach of others."

She were of an older generation, to put it mildly. Being a big fan of something, were not something that had cutesy terms like fanfillies back then. If you were obsessed, or overly intrigued by something, you were considered a fanatic. It were the word they had for it, and it were the one she'd use, lest she be corrected, with a valid argument as to why it would not fit. Thus far, not even the princess had been able to argue against the term not fitting, even if somewhat broadly.

That, and Lyra truly were some sort of fanatic. She may well end up seeing Silverwing as a human, and then tie him up in her basement. Just him and her, forever and ever.

"In any case, this seems a good place to pass through. There is a certain silence over the area. Do not resist."

She'd grab hold of him, and soon after, they would once again pass through the layer, and end up in a secluded area of the garden, outside the Canterlot palace. There were no guards or tourists right here, which she assumed were best, considering the instability issues before. It may be a common thing when crossing over like this. Best not to risk it, yes?

While he likely did that, she'd instead have her attention drawn to a bush of yellow roses. A nice, simple sight, which drew some memories out for her. Of if not better, then at least simpler times. Before everything turned so very, very complicated.

Grim Night will ensure that I am notified as soon as can be, and you are free to relax around the house if you so wish to, whilst waiting.

Of course, I could also offer my assistance in what you are to do after this, and could then extend the offer again? The Tall Tale Coast have a lovely scenery, and there is nothing that needs my attention in Canterlot currently.

I do not wish to sound clingy though, so if you think it is overstepping a boundary, you are at any point, encouraged to tell me to back away, and I will do so. I'd hate to sour things so early on in our adventure, simply because I seemed too pushy."

He were in essence, insisting that she'd come around at some point, but trying not to be pushy about it. It were unseemly, and not something he wanted to be the thing that broke a potential friendship, with a promising, experienced adventurer, such as Fuchsia.

Dreadful things that's usually on those things. I know one who had a blowfly infestation from one of those things. I did not see him in the advanced stages of that, but it sounded dreadful, and I were told that he were more than happy to accept the unicorn I hired to go there, and offer him to have the worst of that experience, wiped from his memory. Not an offer I extend often, but some things are best forgotten."

    6 hours ago, Fuchsia said:

Fuchsia's eyes go large as she sees the skeletal hoof - signs of death still gave her the creeps. Pony life doesn't prepare you for things like that. Still, she keeps a grip of herself- it was hardly the first time she'd seen a skeleton - or more recent kills for that matter :s  Fuchsia similarly deduces that the hoof must belong to an adventurer. She gingerly trots towards the hoof, waving her dream-catcher at it just in case, and will pick it up and store it for burial in Equestria if there is no sign of any evil magic on it, or traps around it.

As she pickets the hoof, she responds to Billowing's question: "Hmmm..." she considers seriously. She peers closely either way - both paths seem equally dim and musty. She sniffs the air and approaches both walls on either side to feel them with a dull pink hooves and even gives them an experimental lick-  sticking her tongue out at the dry mildewey taste. Finally she sits on the ground in the centre of the path, puts both hooves on her muddy flanks - where her cutie-mark would be - and closes her eyes. Eventually she responds, "Left feels like it is guarding something, it feels rougher, tastes sourer and looks dimmer. However, I have a hunch that right wants us to think it is right and is a trap! I feel it in my heart."  she says, and begins to go left.

There were nothing going on with the hoof, nor around it. It were just a piece of somepony long gone, laying around and collecting dust, it seemed.

Now, something were going on with choosing a path, but that were mainly Smokey giving a few blinks, before letting out a low, yet hearty laughter at the deduction that he had just heard.

"Remarkable decision making. I am not one to argue with a gut feeling though, so you are correct. Left it is. Let us see what adventure awaits us, in the dark depths of theis long forgotten structure."

And so, they would wander into the left passage, and wander a path that were taking them further down, towards the heart of the temple.

The walls around them would eventually begin to carry old, rough looking carvings on them. They were weathered with time, but they seemed to be focused around deer, as fawns and bucks were seen in several places, wearing garments more befitting of certain older cultures, in the deserts of Saddle Arabia. Or perhaps even in the area around the main capitol of the sphinx themselves.

"Fascinating. It isn't often you find old deer mementos anymore, as they are often highly protective of their ancestral grounds. Peculiar how a structure so much more than most things I see them included in, have seemingly been left to time. Makes one wonder, what peculiarities they may have kept down here."

They wouldn't get much in the way of details, sadly. Plant life, and erosion from time, had made most of the depictions illegible. Hopefully there'd be more further down. Strange enough really, that there didn't seem to be any traps right now... Maybe it were but an omen. Or perhaps there were some reason, why there were nothing set up here?

Partially, the fact that at the bottom they'd find a large rock blocking their path, would answer the question. Somepony else had already triggered this one, or it had just snapped at some point. Either way, it were in the way of the door now, plugging it nice and snuggly.

"Now this is a dreary sight. Nothing that can't be dealt with though, if you would simply give me some time."

He'd need said time, to use his horn, and have the smoky aura start to dance around the stone, until it slowly began to seep in via a crack he found in the boulder. More and more smoky aura would pop out of his horn, and flow down there, as his expression got strained, before finally-

"Insert sound of large rock cracking!"

The boulder would crack in half, and his horn would finally stop glowing. Smokey would however, also shake, and have to take a seat, whilst gasping for air.

"*gasp* *gasp* That were... Urgh, quite challenging. It's *gasp* rather dense. Pure amphibolite I think. Just... Give me a m-moment, please."

"Couldn't risk it before, since she didn't have a goal in mind, and we were quite a lotta steps away from the area. Now that she have a target in mind, and it's that close, she's safe. This part of town isn't a danger zone for younglings, and Celestia helps whoever stands in her way."

And he were right. She'd be perfectly fine, once they showed up, and already swimming around in a massive ball room, that filled up around half of the fast food restaurant. Several layers of harmless, plastic balls for the foals to have fun in, and several were. Seemed to be about a dozen or so, but some were obscured from view, so it could be upwards of two dozen, or even more. A risky invest to use this much space for it, but it really drew in families, and that was the bread and butter of this establishment. The food were pretty good too, so it had a positive, friendly reputation. Considering all the competition, that were just a good thing.

Cali would know, as she had followed, and likely seen Blitz run in, wave at one of the mares at the counter, and then jump straight in. Seemed like they knew her here. Although she were surprised to see that it wasn't Molotov who came after her, but instead some mare that she had never seen before. Surely this wasn't... No, that was impossible. Not the way he were.

As for the other group, that would soon be there, Molotov would curiously listen in on the chat happening, before popping in with his own rebuttal. Or information dump, he supposed. Who cared about the details on the wording really?

"Haven't happened any since then either, far as I heard. Almost makes it seem like Center Zero got targeted, though by who, and why, I dunno. Been trying to wring my brain around that for months, and I still don't have an answer.

Now petrification, that I have heard about a few times. Nasty meeting with irate cockatrices mostly, though there's artifacts and spells going on about that too. I think the guards a few towns over, recently got one of them secured? I bet they went into the vault then, if that's true.

Now, did my ears deceive me, or did you say we have ourselves a Wonderbolt cadet? Why Blue, you've been holding out on us. That place is real hard to get into, and much less pass. You must have some real potential."

The levers on his looking glass would move, as he directed it with his magic. All whilst keeping an eye, and a grin, on Blue.

"Excellent bone structure. Definitely a contender to succeed. Here's hoping you get there, though if you ever feel like you need a boost, I got some experimental rocket designs cooking. Might be we could tune you up to a point where Rainbow Dash ended up looking like a snail. Just a bit of invasive surgery, and fireproofing your sides... Yeah, I can see the design for me already."

Once again, he were being weird, and ogling all at the same time. And then Rising had wondered how he were still single.

Calamity can be used constructive. Like say, if there is boulders blocking a road, or there is a very barren area. Such a thing could likely use a say, massive catastrophe, to revitalize the area with some water, and more hospitable environments, such as dirt over rocks? Just finding some things off the top of my head.

I like the idea of just random weather effects going on around her, that she attempts to sort out. That is actually rather funny, and a nice little quirk. :)

Y'know, I'll give her an Approved stamp. Seems well meaning and down to earth, without a positive niche to fulfil just yet, even if she knows what she can steward.

Been toying with another draconequus in some of the stories I have with other folks that might mix well with her, as it sounds like Calamity might do well to learn control over her powers.

Been referring to her as Lilypad thus far. The spirit of meditation. She runs a meditation center, somewhere off the grid in Equestria. A more calm presence than some others of her kin, though still with an inert urge to make some use of chaos. Her specialty, is to help others get peace of mind, and learn to focus. Often this is done through powerful illusions, and manifesting the fears and worries of others into the real world, to make others confront them. Or straight up enter their minds, and gaze upon their issue herself.

Haven't used her directly thus far, but might be a good presence for Calamity? One who'd be able to help her focus, and show that things can be utilized well. After all, if one who thrives off of fear and madness can find a positive way of utilizing that, can one not also find a path for calamity? :)

Your thoughts on things? Your decision in the end, after all. :)

  7. @Neoeryn

Hey there. :) Sorry for the delay, but many things happening these days.

Anyway, your char looks fine lore and looks wise (great picture, definitely) but I'd like to know some details on her powers, limitations, and potential weaknesses? Draconequui can be fickle to get right, so I's just like to know what her deal is, and what her draconequui niche might be. Discord is the spirit of chaos, but other draconequui doesn't have to be as broadly diverse as him. Plus, he already have the title. :)

One of my own for example, is a self proclaimed spirit of evolution. She can't destroy things, is insanely weak to silver, and have a penance for warping lifeforms. Areas she's in have weird animals and plants, and sometimes, she even changes ponies, though is a lot less likely to, unless she have permission, as she doesn't wanna get blasted by harmony. She also tends to warp herself a lot, which goes into being focused on evolving.

Yours being found in a blank void more or less, makes it hard to place her thus far, but I'd like to hear what your thoughts may be on it. :) Soner we sort it, the sooner we can get you into things.

Once it finished they started getting back up to go to work, though Pear stopped them when she noticed the state Brittle was in, "Here, can't say I or anyone here knows much about changelings, we'll give you some space to take care of her, wouldn't want to make it any worse for her. Cycle's hard enough as it is for newcomers."

Pear would continue, "Can't say I know too much about the specifics, scientific, magical, or otherwise, but the cycle is how the Project gets to another place without anyone being able to follow us. They'll have to search the whole globe again if they want to find us."

"So the entirety of this establishment moved then? That would explain things well, without a need for the technical details on how they are accomplishing such a feat. It feels like quite a thing to get used to, but at least I know what to expect the next time. It may help alleviate the nausea, and temporary lack of direction.

I'm afraid it will be longer for Brittle, but her nerves are flayed rather thin, though you needn't worry of her. She'll revert soon enough, once she feels as if whatever danger might have been, have passed.

I'd also like to kindly thank you all for giving her space whilst this is happening. The less in close proximity to her under these episodes, the better. It warms my core that there is such considerate beings here."

This was not always something that happened, and especially not as Brittle's transformations were erratic, and often didn't make any kind of sense. It caused those of curious minds to gather up to learn something, and sadly, those sorts did not always understand the point in personal space. Some of them did not even do so, when asked politely, and had to be more forcefully told to please step back. It were a pleasant experience that thus far, it did not seem to be something which happened here, with these ponies. Earth Mother be praised for that. It would help with Brittle in the short term, and in the long term, might make it easier for her to try and trust them some. He could only hope that would be the case.

"I do hope it is not too much to ask, but might I please inquire how things normally goes here in the fields, beyond this cycle? It were a rather brief explanation we got earlier, and if there are for example, more seasonable plants to tend to, or times with a particular need for more brute force labor, it might be good to know in advance. Much as I enjoy working, it would be good to know if there were something I should plan ahead for, or which might be an issue that I could potentially offer a solution for. Up to and including insect infestation."

Hmmm, this was quite the scene, wasn't it? Three ponies, of which two of them seemed to be in control, and the third having been beaten up quite severely. Likely to either get information out of him, or prepare him for it. A little taste of what were to come, in case he didn't start talking.

Now, there were no obvious good side here. If the one beaten up were part of a gang, and he had indeed been part of beating up a series of guards, then that couldn't exactly be seen as just, without more information. On the other hoof though, these two had more or less begun torture on this pony, to extract information. It was hard to argue that were a just thing to do at any point. Even if you were in a hurry, and these didn't seem desperate, as much as sadistic.

She could probably interfere here. They seemingly hadn't seen her, and she were often underestimated enough that she could end up doing quite a number on someone, if need be, before they took her serious. Though the question here were really, if it were a wise move? She didn't know how guilty any party here were, and she might accidentally end ups ticking her neck out to help someone who frankly deserved a beating. As well as ending up getting herself exposed to some real shady folks in this town.

But, when in doubt, why not ask the local sin seeker? He hadn't answered before, but maybe he'll get a grip if she rattled her mind a little this time. If not, she were gonna have to go by her own judgement, and that'd require her to see where things were goin, and listen in to what else she might learn, before doing something stupid.

"Hey, Nine? Are you awake in there? Bit of a moral issue here, and I'm not sure if this is a time to play hero. Can't say if the one beaten up is more a victim, or a villain in this, and my guts are saying to stab the two others, if they start going further."

Toupé did the same with Piecey, who was not so much a fan of it as her sister was.

It was adorable as always, to see how Peal reacted to things. And she seemed to do well with this. A little burp, but she didn't seem to mind it at all, so this worked as a treat for her it would appear.

It was a shame that the same couldn't be said for Piecey, who did not seem to like this. A little disheartening, but it were to be expected really. Not everyone would like the same, and though soda were popular among younglings, in her experience, it didn't mean it were for all of them. Maybe if she followed the recipe, but used normal water, she'd be able to make something more to her taste? It'd essentially just be juice, but that were fine too, right? It'd still (hopefully) have the right flavor.

Beyond that, I'm not really sure though. The sort of cooking I usually deal in, is with food, and liquids are mostly down to soup. Drinks aren't really a specialty of mine. But I can ask the vendor the next time I see him. He might know some more on how it is that the soda water works."

So let's see, follow the same steps, but replace the soda water with regular water... Chill it with some shards of ice, and make sure to stir so things got mixed right... Well, it got her somewhere alright. Looked like regular juice, but she needed to make sure the flavor were right first, so she'd use another spoon to take a small portion of it, and have a sip. If it were bad, she'd physically cringe, and try to figure out how to balance it right. If it was as she hoped - except for not chilled enough, as it hadn't been given that time - she'd present that to Teal, and say that this might work better.

"I got a lovely bunch of coconuts-"

The sound of a stallion clapping his hooves slightly against the ground, in a way which indicated that he were tapping to the tune, came from the greenery not too far from where Silicon had entered. off the beaten path in fact, though that were perfectly fine for the stallion in question. You rarely found something interesting when you followed the road.

A meow would come not long after he paused to hum and step, trying to follow the tune, and then, the once who had spoken came out of the brush.

"A valid attempt, my fuzzy friend."

Orchid would pat the cat as it leaned up against him and purred. Adorable little thing, and a great companion in his lonely search for knowledge. Not much in the way of musical talent, yet no one were perfect. Just look at him. He were so focused on first doing that, and then hold up a small,. sealed bag with a dozen weird blue and lime-green seeds, that he just about hit somepony! Not his finest entry into this town, that were for certain.

"Ah, sorry for my blunder, my mind were over yonder. Are you still fairing well? If not, please do tell. I wouldn't want to cause you unrest, or feeling distressed."

Whilst he rhymed away, as their kind tended to do, and give a warm smile towards the one he bumped into - seemingly a female with a fascinating little backpack - the cat would wander from him, and go over to rub her side against the unknown female. She were an affectionate little one.

"One would think they would know if someone is in there....though then again, the pony guard isn't exactly known for its competence." if it would have been up to her, she wouldn't have bothered with the glasses, one possibly dead pony didn't really faze her enough, and in her opinion the rescue party that was probably going to be made for this was a waste, why risk many for sake of one? "But I guess it won't hurt to tell them, though I certainly won't be going on any rescue missions."

"I like personal possessions for my horde, and I figured this might have been someone's treasured goggles they lost. Now, I just think I may as well give them to the ponies when we leave, and let them do what they want with them. Who knows? Maybe they'll call upon us at some point to clear more out, and we can make them pay us for it. Even if not, they tend to care less what you do if they see you help them now and again, and this isn't an issue to fork over to them. And if this... Fauna Phantasma Boom is someone important to them, it might earn us if nothing else, a minor favor. They're a lesser race, but there's still things they can be useful for, so having some of those to cash in at times, can come in handy."

She read the name from the inside of the goggles. A strange name, but then again, it was an equine. They were all weird, one way or another. Dragon names were more sensible, with them usually being simple, gem/mineral/elemental related, or based on something they thought sounded gruff. Her own were given because the one who nicked her egg were a fan of bombastic names, but for a dragon, it still wasn't all that out there.

Flying off, they'd be able to deliver the goggles, and be told briefly that this were somepony they had heard off, but didn't think were still alive, and then thanked for their service. They'd wander off to try and organize a rescue mission amongst the guards, and one taking advantage of the unrest the dragons caused. Only one who remained, were one who'd give them a bag of bits, about the size of his own head. Standard reward for their work, rushed along as they had given them an opportunity they needed to take advantage off, and didn't want to spend time on paperwork.

They'd be able to fly up and get on their way in less than three minutes from handing over the glasses, so it wouldn't waste a lot of times, and Ruby would have a neat bag of coins to hold. She were the biggest, so the pony assumed she were their leader, or something. Best to just pay the biggest dragon in his opinion, to be safe.

"That wasn't so bad.  Any idea what you want to do now? We could try and pester your bird again if it were, but he's likely in a large town. Might still be too much for Charir. Or for them, depending on how he'd react to it."

"Well uhm... O-Okay then. See you later, I guess?"

She'd scurry off, with her scarecrow in tow, which had started to cackle in a low, raspy tone, whilst looking towards Crow. Who'd then in turn, look back at it, with narrowed eyes, and a wholly sour demeanor. It did not trust that little thing.

"That could have gone better, but I suppose, it could have gone worse too. I think we should find some rejoice in at least knowing that you aren't exposed, my friend. She only sense an aura, that might be lingering. For one who can feel death, that seems to be little enough to explain it away, if needed.

I am surprised and worried though, that you show such interest in her. Hearing that you wish to let the costume fall before her, and with what she can do... Are you hoping that she might be able to help you return to the cycle?"

She would be sad to lose Scarecrow as a friend already, but she would understand his wish to end his current existence. It seemed to be a limbo of pain, which ascended the physical, and trapped him in this rotted shell of his. It were not a fate one should endure, and his eagerness to have it end, and simply pass on, instead of being stuck like this, were understandable.  As mentioned, she would of course miss him though, but as his friend, she would support his decision, and if need be, bury him in a blooming field. Maybe his soul would find further rest, if he knew that his corpse would be the mulch from which much life would spring. It were in her culture at least, and it could not hurt to follow this when it came to him, no?

Onache nearly sneered at what she heard. Not the part about them needing materials, and wanting to make weapons themselves, That she could understand, and she may be able to arrange something, which would not cause harm in the process, to help them with this.

"So they did not even feed you properly? Fools. How do they expect to keep a workforce at their potential, if they are not given at least some care? Food and scheduled sleep are important to make your workers able-bodied for longer. Withering them away like you, is a waste of potential, and poor management. Some slavers are simply intolerably shortsighted and foolish."

Sure sure, it were horrible the way they were treated, yet she also wanted to focus on how badly it were done by those who had put them through that. If they made sure to keep their bodies strong, and worked on breaking their spirits instead, they would have much more efficient, lasting slaves. Controlling them via starving them, only lead to desperation and riots, along with an increasingly high need to replace workers with new ones, who then had to be molded into doing a job they might not have done before, and hence might do miserably at.

Their methods were cruel, stupid, and lacked a proper way to utilize what you had correctly. How in the world had they managed to keep separate dictatorships active for as long as it sounded like they had, and still fail so miserably in seeing how to run it efficiently?

"Regardless, I will return with something that should suffice soon. In the meantime however-"

Her horn glowed, and the nurse from before came in, whistling, and talking about it being time to restock the bowl. Not something they always did, but this were a simplistic manipulation to do. Trivial really. And with that action, she would take off.

She'd return an hour later, looking no worse for the wear, and having a box around the size of her torso waving after her. Usually this would get searched, but y'know, she made them ignore that.

If the kobolds were still there, she'd open it, to reveal several slices of boar meat, cut cleanly through. Including the bones, which didn't seem to have given any resistance. Half of the pieces were also cooked, as she weren't certain if they ate their meat raw, so it had seemed simpler to just do this, and contemplate her next move in the meantime.

Rose had a good wink and a giggle at seeing this. So it were less two in one, and more this one getting possessed? Cool! Mom were definitely going to like this one.

As for the comment about her reflexes, Rose had a minor giggle herself, as the shark mare just looked confused at them, wondering what sort of danger they were talking about.

"This place is in real bad shape, but we'll get it sorted out. And it's not bad, y'know. I still got the rock. Hehe, I'm mom's last sliver of destruction. Erasing things is my whole stick of fun."

Leading them on as she spoke, they'd finally get to their destination: A seemingly boring door, in the wall ahead of them. To the right and left, were ones marked to make it clear those rooms had belonged to the princesses, once upon a time, but the middle door were the one she were going for, and she'd open it to reveal the entry to a massive forest. Some sort of light were hanging above it, acting like a kind of sun, and through the impossibly large forest area, flew small creatures seemingly made of light, whilst more *regular* critters also rummaged around. Including some small, three headed snakes that seemingly fed on the light creatures, once they got too close to certain flowers. Eating them, seemed to make the snakes look invigorated and glow, before moving on.

There were also the thump of who were likely Henry further inside, as the noise were similar to that heard outside, so he had gotten here before them.

"Sweet, sweet, vacation home. Come on in. It's fun in here: It's full of life you won't see outside, and funny plants. Ignore the zebra striped bamboo stick though. They'll just try and sell you insurance."

The shark mare enjoyed it at least, as she went in, and jumped ahead, so that she could roll around in the fresh grass, and small flowers.

As for running out, I know what I need to make the potion but don't have enough of the two main ingredients to make it. Heart's Desire and Poison Joke being the two. And yes I know how Poison Joke can normally affect one. That's why if and when I can gather some, I will use proper effects. That's so as to not touch the flowers directly. I wouldn't want to be an Apple Tiny, a Raspberry Tunge, a Floppy Horn, a Rainbow Crash, a Deep Manly Voice or even a Manegy Rarity. While each is funny. **When spoken of about the events of the land he says,** "I know a good number of them and about when, in Equestrian time, they happen. As well as their similar event from where I come from. Though some don't have events that we celebrate back home. Just to name a few; hearts and hooves day back home would be Valentine's Day, Heart's Warming Eve would be Christmas, Nightmare Night would be All Hallow's Eve or Halloween. But the crystal fair is not one of the common ones. The running of the leaves is equivalent to the fall festival but without the running to make leaves fall. Winter Wrap up is probably equivalent to what I like to call the Spring Festival. My old world may be a dark and deadly world that demons would call a holiday, but it has its moments of beauty."

"Interesting how another world entirely, still have celebrations that somehow mimics that of this one. Ones with similar theme's to their names even. A peculiar coincidence.

    Demons have four prime celebrations.

The Great Harvest, where some of the tormented gets drained of the last energy they can provide, and are returned to the cycle for rebirth.

The Grand Carnival of Sin, where the souls of the truly depraved gets brought forth, and the maturing demons gets a chance at showing what they have learned in school. A graduation party of sorts, I suppose.

The Blind Silence is my preferred one. The one day each year, in which no screams are heard, as the damned gets a day of respite from the physical pains. And all the while, the Bleeding Mother wanders from layer to layer, a thousand pardons, to those she believes have deserved early redemption. To the damned, she is the closest to a deity they have, and many are those who pray in her name, to be granted the forgiveness she suffers to give them.

And then, there is Ahl-Ra Zanhzuehla. And if I spoke of that outside the demonic realms, I would be punished severely.

There are minor holidays too in a sense, depending on several things. One being created by Her, that I cannot speak of in here. She may hear me, and her words are poison, corrupting your soul with every letter that leaves her lips. Not even her flock are mad enough to risk summoning her, with any sort of frequency."

In my time, it only meant that you intentionally wished to confuse those you spoke with. And that you somehow managed to find one of the rare exiles they had roaming Equestria, in it's early days. It were not a time of acceptance towards others. Even if they too were equine."

Their travels brought them over branches upon branches, and the landscape did not seem to change at all around them. Only the whispers below did, as they varied in what they tried to say, to get them to come down to them.

Soon enough, they'd stand at a particular tree, and Vivid would halt to look into a point near it. Seemingly just thin air, and yet, there appeared to be something she were silently observing for a little, before nodding, and moving along.

“Really? I’m more fond of the last part. The trial was nonsensical and eventually that devolved into a brawl. Good thing it was a dream, which probably explains why the whole thing seemed too crazy to happen in reality. Then again, who am I to say what is normal? We watched shapeshifters put on a play in the midst of creatures who can wield magic like it’s nothing. It probably takes a lot to say something is crazy and surreal.”

"Legends has it that the play came out not too many years after Discord were made into stone, and were loosely based off of what he had put some ponies through. The dream is supposedly meant to represent his reign ending, and them waking up to a world that made sense."

Queen Cheshire came over to them, at the edge of the stage. Not in costume, but in her full, changeling queen form, which were quite a bit taller than what she had shown before. She were still wearing an elegant red dress and shoes, along with having a bow in her hair. As well as the cheese legs and glistening fangs that befitted her kind.

"I don't know if it's true, but I could see it be some sort of therapy for somepony. Either way, it's a fun play to make, and I can sure feel I'm not the only one here that enjoyed it."

Omen weren't included in this, as she quite frankly, couldn't really sense any emotions off her at al. Another point that made the mare rather creepy to the queen, but she'd try and keep an open mind here.

"An unsubstantiated rumor, but one that does make a lot of sense. Though regardless, it was a good performance."

"Thank you. We try our best.

Anyway, not gonna take your time, just overheard that one, and wanted to butt in with something. You five take care. And try not to bump into the vats. Concentrated emotions can be a rough rush for non-emotion eaters. You don't wanna look like a crazy clown, do you Mr. Honkers?"

Cheshire pulled her tongue a little playfully at Sen, as she made a little jab at his current appearance. Lest there were more, she'd be on her way, up and help her hive clean up the stage, so they could go back and have a relaxing break before the next show.

Once she were eventually gone, as well as a good chunk of the audience, that went off to see other things at the carnival, Rosa would hear the next which were being said by Sen and Lin.

“That reminds me, I’ve been meaning to find one of those picture, or um… photo booth places. I think I brought that up with either Banshee or Tomb earlier? Anyway, I’d like to get something for us to remember this night. Could be something to put in the picture frame Omen won earlier. We’ll get you one, too, Rosa! Sound good?”

"I'd love to. Usually they allow pictures to be kept in Equestrians jails, and I would like a picture of all of my friends there, to keep an eye out for me, until I get a chance to try this with you again. Hopefully, I could get out on a probationary basis at some point, within too many years."

It were still a little gloomy at the end of the day, that he knew his freedom were now timed in mere hours, but he had accepted this. It didn't sting as much, though he would definitely miss them all. Even if he assumed that he would still see them at times. Omen he suspected, did not care for/did not understand the principle of staying away from his prison cell, in the long run. So quite frankly, he fully expected her to literally pop her head in now and again.

"I think I saw it as we wandered over here before. Let us try and go that way again."

They would indeed have passed it. A rather small place, but it were bristling with customers it seemed, who got plenty a picture taken, and then sat around as it properly developed. There'd be some line to go through, but it shouldn't be so bad. 15 minutes tops. Less if they were lucky, perhaps.

Ooooh, a Changeling. That made a lot more sense with the name, and the gender fit too. She must not want to be harassed about her heritage, if she hid not just her form, but also gender. Or she identified as male, maybe? Usually Sorrow would be thinking on this, and debating with herself over whatever or not to bring it up, but there weren't time for that sort right now. Instead, she had to scramble too her hooves, and get up closer tot he mare, at the counter.

"When this adventure is done, I do hope that you will join me at my home, and exchange more stories. It is always good to meet a fellow adventurer, and it sounds as if you have many a peculiar tale to tell. Hopefully I will have some that are worthy for you too, in return."

This was certainly a delightful partner to have on his travels, and hopefully, she'd accept his offer. He wasn't trying anything with her. It were just nicer to sit around a table and share stories, with some treats in width, after a nice shower, than it were to do so in a dusty temple like this. He'd give though, that a campfire had a certain ambience that made some stories better. That he neither could, nor would, deny to be true.

On 2021-02-15 at 12:28 AM, Fuchsia said:

When Smokey casts the stone, Fuchsia watches its flight closely. Fuchsia, crouches low just in case. Her ears prick up at the ominous sound of a click from the ceiling... but nothing happens. She de-tenses and gives a sigh of relief. "Wait a sec - just wanna make sure it's really safe." she seeks out the source of the click to make sure. By the light of her bauble she can just about make out an indentation in the ceiling and a hole which has been filled by a questing vine that must have grown down from the entrance, looking for water. "I think it was a vent that's been blocked. I wonder what would have come out of it? A dart, or maybe some sort of gas?" Fuchsia muses.

"Anyway let's push on." Fuchsia trots cautiously along, picking each hoof-step and holding the dream catcher in her mouth in case of more traps.

"My bits are on gas. Darts tends to be more in the walls, and gas being dumbed down upon a subject, works well for ancient traps, since they were often in jars, or glass containers. Well spotted too, by the way."

He too had made note of it, but she had acted faster than him, and gone to explore what might be the source of it. Which thankfully, seemed to be an inert trap. Often something you found in temples like this, since even the most well kept traps, would eventually have to fail. Nature and time, tended to erode away at them sooner or later.

Not that he were complaining. It were far better than one who worked, such as one he bit note in when he saw a stone that were a tiny bit more raised than the others, and he motioned for Fuchsia to stand still. Afterwards, he'd stand at a distance, and use his horn to press down on the stone, which caused a dart to shoot from the other wall, and into the open on their left. Had they stepped on this, it were likely they would have been hit by this. And while whatever poison had once been on it were likely gone a long time ago, it were still deadly, and likely had bacteria crawling on the rusty metal.

"Seems like some of them still works. We should thread carefully."

An example of why would lay in the corner, as they'd be able to see a skeletal hoof of some long gone, past adventurer, who wasn't thinking wisely before going in here. Just the hoof though. There were no signs of where the rest of the pony were, but odds were that it were an adventurer. Who else would go in here? Well, perhaps the ones who had been here in the first place, but then it'd be weird to have a part laying here. Maybe something they'd get an answer to eventually, but they were best off getting a move on, for the time being.

Wouldn't be long - nor many other eroded traps - after, that they would reach an impasse. A forked road. With one seemingly angling down, and another, rising upwards.

"Ah, the eternal question: Left or right? What do you think, Fuchsia?"

Magnolia had kept Zeehva embraced for a few moments longer. Before then she slowly pulled away and stood beside her and looked into her eyes. She simply did an almost fluid like nod to what Zeehva had said, taking her time to process what she had said mentally for a few awkward moments. "It helps that you are here too...I would be so lost and alone without you. Perhaps it is...best for stories another time and when we are in a better and more...suited area? And as for your...name they call you I hope that some day, you won't have to be that way anymore...but it will take time. Lots of time..." Magnolia had said in an attempt to be reassuring.

"It's okay, I don't mind the n-nickname. He used to tell me that there were only two reasons for the masses to give you one: They feared you, or they adored you. He s-said that was usually how heroes and villains were made..."

Tears would still fall from her eyes, but a small laugh would escape her too. Her husband had such good sayings, but tended to deliver them in a rather cheesy way at times. He had never been a master at speeches, but she still had found it endearing to her his hammy readings, and attempts at bravado. It were among the things that had at first made her fall for him, as he had saved a group she had been trapped in, by some dangerous kidnappers. He took her laughing at his speech afterwards rather well, though she were still somewhat surprised how it had evolved after that.

"You know, other Zebricans used to call him Zamzahla-Bahle. It's old Zebrican. I-It roughly translates to Clownboy."

It were meant affectionally, but it still made her laugh when she had at first heard the translation. Sure he made use of some things which accounted for the nickname, but it were still just baffling to her, that this of all things, had accounted for an affectionate nickname, among his peers. It still sounded mysterious and cool to outsiders of course, but for the natives, it had been kind of a laugh.

In fairness, his attire were pretty colorful, and he did have a penance for using magical items, which included special balloons. It wasn't as if it wasn't a fair one at times.

Magnolia should likely not know this name though. Her husband had been a hero, but it were in Zebrica only. He never moved out of the country, so any mention there would be of him, were from tourists that he had helped save.

On 2021-02-14 at 9:41 PM, Magnolia said:

Then she noted what Zeehava said about Timberwolves. "I do not scare against mere timberwolves. You have nothing to fear." Magnolia said in a more bold, yet also cold tone. She wasn't afraid of anything...much that was for sure. Being the mare that she was, her coldness against what comes against her would never really go away. Zeehva could tell that for sure as well. As they entered the forest, Magnolia did so with a bold step into the forest. The forest had lots of shadows, and it was where Magnolia was in her element.

"If it makes you feel any better, I still have more than my own magic. So I can easily fend any dangerous creatures off here, that lay in these woods. Fret not..." Magnolia had said, the previous nervousness and awkwardness almost fading away from her tone.

Following Magnolia into the forest, she got more of a smile on her lips, and the tears began to dry up, as the mare grew her confidence in talking about dealing with timberwolves. Not the largest threat in Equestria, but a wide spread one, that could be really dangerous for the weak and unprepared.

Usually most of them were smart enough to not interfere with travelers though. In most areas, they got too many beatings to find it worthwhile eventually. Not all places though, and the younger ones tended to get testy. Especially in mating season.

So far though, they seemed to be fine, as they wandered through the seemingly unkempt forest. Appeared to be somewhere that others did not normally wander. Likely gave more secrecy, which Scarcity obviously enjoyed. Couldn't have random folks walk in on one of her meetings.

"It's good to hear your voice have confidence again, Magnolia. I don't fear those creatures either though. They have easy to exploit weak points, that will split them apart simply enough, and most others tend to leave if they see a show of force on another of their flock. I worry more for those wandering into forests for a picnic, and who are are not prepared for a flock of them. I had to chase off a few flocks before, that were chasing couples that didn't think on preparing themselves. One of them didn't consider when the creatures had their mating season. It makes them more testy, and far more territorial. A troubling combination, when it comes to the ignorant."

She remained in her hug posture, though her breathing has become forced. Meanwhile, Blue stifled a laugh from coming out of her mouth.

Wouldn't take too long, as she stood still and didn't frazzle around. A minute and a half, roughly, and Carmen would be free, and solidly back on Molotov's head again.

"Sorry about that. She's usually secured on my noggin or back, but she's not used to mares getting close to me unless it's to give me a smack or something like it, so she got a little turned about. And then we had an unfortunate hit. Just a real bad mixture of timing and stuff there. Thanks for being a trooper and stay still though. Carmen can't say it in words you understand, since I haven't worked out the proper way to get a small voice box made for her and Felicia yet, but she understands it isn't something a lot of folks like."

Carmen would indeed be giving off some whirrs and grinding sounds, in an effort to communicate, but only Molotov were aware of her minor language, in the group. And really, so far, only one other had cracked it. That being Rising Dusk, of the O.M. I. Smart cookie that one.

However it was also an attempt to distract them from the sad topics of discussion.

"See? This here I like hearing too. Gotta have confidence if you wanna get anything done in life, right? Best to go by the laws though. Discord thought he didn't have to either, and he got stoned twice 'cause of it. Still, lemme think on it, alright? I might be able to think up a plan that'll mean that nothing goes bad, and we're not having folks called out in a bad way, for rummaging around in there.

We should get some chow first."

"Alright, you know what? Lead the way sis, and we'll meet you there. It's close anyway, and now she's driven to a single goal. It'll make it simpler."

Pulling at the string with his horn, he'd unleash Blitz, who then rushed ahead, giggling like a mad filly.

"It's only around two hundred meters ahead, so it ain't so bad. You can't help but see where it is either. It's got the town's biggest ball pit. Drags in foals of all ages, and Blitz is a big fan of both that playground, and a quick haydog. They got other stuff too, so it should be fine for you folks too. While the door wasn't locked, it was certainly stiff. The hinges sure acted like they hadn't been used in years. Nonetheless Null was able to get the door open far enough to pass through. It would close behind her unless she propped it open somehow, the hinges had some pretty strong springs in them to keep the door shut.

One of the great rules of survival: If you wandered into something unknown, try not to have a door close shut behind you. You might need to run back, and if it were locked, you were screwed.

Sadly, she didn't have a lot of things on her to use in that regard. Just her hat, her knife, and that darn bracer thing she had worn yesterday, as she had been occupied with her mind too much, to really take any of the things she wore then off. Didn't look as nicely anymore, as her more usual dusty traveler look had overtaken the clean one from yesterday, but it were still there.

If it were usable, she would take one of the silver bracers she wore off her leg, and use it to wedge in the door, so it wouldn't be able to lock shut. She'd keep the one on her right leg though. It might be useful later. Silver tended to be.

It was dark in the hallway ahead, but she could make out a bit of her surroundings, it looked something like an office space, like one would expect in a Manehatten high rise or Canterlot. The window at the far end were covered, but would likely give a good view down on the town.

There was the distinct chime of the elevator arriving at her floor, followed by the sound of slow deliberate hoofsteps on the dusty carpet.

Looking around, she were a little disappointed in the area. She sort of hoped for some altars, or at least some bloody smears on the floor. This just looked like a boring little office space, that had been left to rot.

Yet, soon after, she'd hear that this place wasn't totally deserted. There were someone else here, wandering out of the elevator.

This were a point where being small were to her advantage, as Null snuck closer, and covered behind what she could find. She wanted to see who she were dealing with, and try to get information, rather than get it by stabbery. Some degree of stealth might be more handy, than being covered in blood, and have questions raised about whatever or not she saw someone that were missing. Who might not even be evil, but just lost. She'd hopefully find out soon, and learn something important. Without stabbing, but y'know, if it came down to it...

Her eyes widened when she took a tentative sip, "Oh! This is much better than that was."

This was a weight off her shoulders to hear. She weren't sure what she'd think, but the foals were the important ones in this equation. Their happiness were the point of this, and seeing that it were going well between them, were making her smile more and more.

Having a sip herself, she were honestly surprised how well it had gone. Even if she had followed the recipe well, it were still a first attempt. There were no guarantee that it would be tasty. In a way, she had hoped for somewhat watered down, and just not completely bland, but this were very good. A great recipe, she'd put it down to. A tragedy really, that the one who had made it were no longer among them.

Her endorsement got the other ponies more interested, each taking their glasses and trying it for themselves, they each had a look of wonder at the flavor. Teal though held back the foals before they could get too excited, "I don't know if they'll like the bubbles too much. Could it be made without them?"

Toupé looked at her glass appraisingly, "How did the bubbles get in there in the first place?"

"It's a minor chemical reaction. It's not dangerous, and just kindly tickles, and can make you burp. Soda's tend to be like that, though sure, it can be made without. It'd just be juice then, though. But I can try and work on that, if they don't like this. It might be a little more flat then, since it's made to be bubbly. No worries though. We'll figure it out if they don't like it, Teal. I promise."

There were several recipes here, so she could try and find one that worked without bubbles, or just try and find the things for a nice glass of juice. Whatever it took, she'd make sure to find something the little ones liked too, in case this wasn't to their taste. Maybe the bubbles getting into their nose wouldn't be too enjoyable, for example. A few were like that, and it were perfectly fine. Just something they had to account for in the future, if it were.

She'd take a sip more herself, and let out a small hiccup. Void would try and hide it, but ergh. Wasn't like it wasn't obvious, and it wasn't something bad. Just a regular reaction to the added air, from the drink.

    "Sorry about that.

Are you sure they shouldn't try to taste this, Teal? It might be they'd like it, and it might seem a little harsh in their eyes, if we just take this, and they don't get the chance to at least try, and see if they like it."

As for what were asked by Toupé, Vid figured the best way to show her how this worked, were to just show the papers to the filly. And so she would, though at safe distance from liquid, just to make sure it didn't get drenched, and likely damaged. They just got this and she'd like to keep her word on making sure these were safe, and well utilized.

    Awh, that's adorable. :)

Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday, but the site refused to let me reply with things. Seems to have just recently gotten back up again.

Quickly on what I got down for the zebra before I got diverted, and unable to post things:

    Name: Orchid Azhera

Story: Scholar and botanist, travelling the wide world with his cat Michi, to catalogue and collect samples of all herbs he can find, and bring both them, seeds of said plants, and the information he can dot down about them, back to Zebrica. He tests the various uses himself, making potions with effects he doesn't always understand, but that is what testing is for.

Personality: Jovial and easy going, he is generally a fine being to be around. Yet he can sometimes get caught up in his work, and be a little reckless, if it comes to getting more information on the varied plants he seeks and works with. He also tends to get a little uppity if someone tries to get to his bag, in which he keeps his samples, or touches the notebooks he carries, without his permission.

As a scholar, he tends to be curious too, with oddities being something he'd focus on more than the normal. He means no ill will, but is likely to dottle down information on whoever he observes in another notebook, as if he's doing a study on them. Which in theory, he is, though he thinks that it is merely him spreading knowledge, to make the unusual more known. That it is somewhat uncomfortable for his *test subjects* can at times then, go over his head, so it'd be best to poke him about this relatively often.

That's what I got down for him. I dunno what'd be preferred between them, but you make a pick, then I put in a start reply tomorrow, with the other posts.

Though, what sort of setting would you prefer? And where should it begin? And of course, if you wish to make the first post, you're free to as well. :)

  13. @Silicon Chimera

He doesn't have PTSD. He's just sort of awkward and nervous, as well as rather self aware of his scars, and feeling like others would look and judge him if they saw them. It makes him more comfortable to have it covered up. :)

As for the zebra though, I'll have to ponder how he'd be more in full, before I could say who would fit the best. I'll try and get back to you later on that, and see what sort of quirks and further details I end up making for him. It should be easier to pick from there. :)

It'll likely just be going down to tbe basics if she'd prefer to be kind of studied, and written down as part of the zebra's journal (purely out of the peculiarity of course. No dissections or the like planned), or have someone who'd awkwardly try and befriend her, and might end up putting his hoof down his throat because of it at times.

They're both friendly at their base, travellers, and can relate to Silicon in some fashion. Mostly comes down to the sort of approach between confident scholar and awkward loner they have. And an age difference. Cover is 16, whereas I imagine the other to be more around... Late twenties, early thirties.

  14. @Silicon Chimera

I forgot to mention that Cover Up usually travels around too. He's only in Ponyville for a time because he figured that someone might have heard about what happened in his old home (Very basically, something utterly destroyed it, and he were the only survivor found. Later he heard rumors someone had seen some members of his family elsewhere in Equestria, and then started to travel to find information, in case it turned out to be them), and to gather up some coin for the road. He does tattooing, but also painting in general, and minor menial labor, to get some coin to make it through life. Ponyville doesn't have a lot of tattoo requests, and are low on information, so he may want to leave soon regardless.

And for the culture, it's basically me making a lore around Harrowmark, which is my MLP version of Denmark. Focused on olden time depictions of a farming community, with a heaping addition of witched, two gods, that deals with death and undeath there, as well as a ton of dark magic. The settlers that moved away, of which his family are from, did not want all those things affecting their lives, but they still had their beliefs, customs, and practices. Including god worship, witchcraft, a less lovey-dovey approach to everything than Equestrians, and a more down to earth, simplistic lifestyle. Some technology tends to confuse him, as a matter of fact. :)

And really, I have most get pets these days. Heck, if you want, I could find a pet for them from the Everfree. I have a draconequus in there who loves to make weird animals, and sometimes a few of them escapes. :P Or he finds a stray somewhere that refuses to leave him alone. His spine isn't there to chase it off, and he'll eventually cave. :) Push company upon him for all intents and purposes. It's fun to make him squirm. :P

Sorry for another delay. Busy today, and for some reason, I couldn't make responses for a while earlier today. Was rather weird.

Awh, I adore this one. :) Nice, sweet, and to the point. Definitely an approved from me. :)

    Also, amazing pictures. Cute. ^_^

A shame that my char Molotov is busy. He tinkers with AI's as well, so they might have a nice, awkward moment there toc hat about things. :)

Anyway, as for a setting... I dunno what you may have in mind, but as or chars, I can imagine you'd prefer someone rather calm for her to chat with, yes?

    FB_IMG_758426608958359429.thumb.jpg.db94e5caf8dd246258289c4ddb7abd23.jpg526696069_Screenshot_20201230-021849_AvatarMakerFantasyPony01.thumb.jpg.467251ea7127cfcd786f056d7fff6b64.jpg

These two are free, and could be used perhaps.

First one I haven't used, or even named yet, but I figure him to be a scholar zebra of sorts. Out to see the world, and write up the many plants and their usages, to take back home to Zebrica with him. He'd be interested in how Silicon worked, but not judge her on it, and more or less just find it a curious case of life finding a way.

More of a traveler and scholar, he'd spend his time out in the wild quite often, and aim to teach and learn. If travels your thing he may work.

The second one is Cover-up. He's a tattoo artist. Works with a large ink well, and a brush, that works with his magic to make the ink stick. He inks himself to show off his skillset, as well as covering a myriad of scars he got, after his home collapsed on top of him when he were younger. He's a rather mellow, cautious type, who'd like to make friends, but aren't really sure how to do it. Where he grew up, hugs and dancing wasn't really the norm, to put it mildly.

His culture have a strong connection and belief and life, death, spirits and undeath. As such, he'd see Silicon as a spirit taking possession of a new host, and making a life from that. A curious thing, but he wouldn't judge either, as it's seen as normal, where his family came from, before moving to Equestria.

He's about as dangerous as a glass of luke-warm milk, so he'd perhaps be a calming presence. :)

This are just off the top of my head though. if neither seems fine (and do please ask further questions about them if it is) I'll see what else I can scrounge up. Depends a bit on what sort of match you want to make. :)

And of course, if anyone else wanna chip in and say they have a good plan for RP with Silicon, do feel free to butt in. :)

Dragging out the knife she tended to at the very least always have on her, and place it in her muzzle. Seemed like she might end up stabbing something today after all. Or maybe not, but best to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it, right?

She could in theory go up and get Arcade, by handing him a feather, but then he might be able to actually die. Or he'd lose it, and get stuck in some kind of temporal loop here. Was safer for him to stay up there for now, and she for sure weren't gonna have him potentially disappear in time. Especially not as they hadn't even had a real date yet.

"Nine? You aware of things in there? Think this is a good time to prepare for trouble. Never anything good that comes from single hoofprints in a dusty hallway."

Elef looked happy to hear confirmation on part of the story, "Yeah! He said it happened on the edge of Equestria, in a place called the Shimmerwood Forest. They have wood there that glows in the dark!" He looked like he remembered something and went over to his bag and came back with a small bit of dark grey wood. True to it's name it shimmered softly even in the light of the room. "It was brighter outside, cause it was dark and all. He said that unicorns could get them to glow real bright if they charged them with magic."

"You should keep it a little away from me then, just in case. I w-wouldn't want to accidentally drain the magic out of it, Elef. It's a pretty token after all. And potentially could be u-useful for something another time. Magic-infused wood have many sorts of uses. Plus, it's pleasing to the eye, y-yes?"

She made sure not to stand too close, as she gazed on the wood. She had never been to the place before, that were mentioned, but she had seen this type of wood before. Or something close to it, anyway. Sticks of dark wood, brimming with magic to a point where it lit up... Maybe it were the same, but the other were just more charged? It were hard for her to tell, as she were no magic user after all. The exact opposite were more like it, so it wasn't easy for her to tell if things just had a degree of glowing, or if it were distinct things.

    Magic were complicated stuff.

Elef nodded, and Ardee also looked intrigued at the possibility.

Seemed like they may have a potential adventurer or two in the making then. A dangerous occupation, which she would not prefer they went with, if she were honest. Yet she knew well, that if the wild called, odds were high that sooner or later, you'd answer it. The exploring spirit were more or less impossible to contain. As such, the smartest thing for her were to make sure they knew of the dangers, and prepare them, in case they got to the point where they just had to go out there someday. It wouldn't be the safe, calm life she'd wish for them, but it wasn't her role in their life to keep them chained down. It was her life to nurture them, and prepare them for the world, no matter what role they chose to be in it.

If that meant being an explorer, then so be it. She would make sure that they wouldn't walk into it blindly, and become one of the myriad of beings before them, who got in over their head, and died because they were not prepared.

All of the ponies, save for the foals and Elef, would ask for seconds, and it was clear that all of them enjoyed it. The foals weren't the least bit fussy about eating it at least.

Void would find all of the ingredients properly chilled when she checked, she would just need to mix the soda water, flavor, and creme into the glasses that they would drink out of, as the instructions indicated that it was best enjoyed freshly prepared, one step being 'with a smile and a pun'

It brought a smile to her face to see that they were all enjoying the meal. From youngest to oldest, there were bowls being emptied and filled up again, and thankfully, there'd be plenty enough for them all. Even for her and Lacuna to have another bowl, though the lizard had gotten his fill during the first, and were now slung over her neck, resting. The cute little, whistling snore were just bringing an extra bit of a smile to her lips, and as she finished her own bowl, she'd go and check up on the sodas.

Thankfully, they were ready now. Well, they were cooled down at least. They still needed a little more work, and then... There.

She got the things ready, along with a bunch of cups, so that there were one for everyone present. Some straws too, just in case. Wasn't the best ones, but she had managed to find some wooden ones that wasn't too badly roughed up, and washed them. She figured they'd be useful when her new little sibling got older, but now they got used before that. A happy coincidence.

Reading through one more time, just to be sure, she'd pour in the ingredients in the way it were presented, and ended up with the wooden straws, popped into the glasses/cups. It looked good for a first try, though of course, the taste is what they'd have to evaluate it on. Here were hoping it went well.

"Okay, I have something here that s-should be good. Never tried making it before, but I followed the steps right. It's called a soda. It's a kind of s-sweet drink. A treat for everyone here. Just try not to spill it all over, o-okay? It's likely to get rather sticky then.

    W-Whenever everyone's ready, we'll try together, okay?"

She'd drink along too when it were, to show solidarity, and test the waters. Now it were just hoping it were good...

The older mare seemed quite charmed by Briar's words, "And polite to boot! I see the troubles below haven't stolen your kindness or tact like it has for many others. You can call me Prickly Pear."

She was cut off by a flashing light, "Looks like the cycle is starting early, come with me, we can wait it out together in the breakroom." She would lead the way to a smaller room off the side of the growing area where a few other ponies were seated on couches and chairs secured to the ground. Once inside Prickly turned her attention back to the pair, "This might take a bit, Whose that little one you've got with you? She seems awful shy."

As they walked along to wait out the cycle - whatever that may be - Briar would respond to the mare's kind words. All the while Brittle would wander on the opposite side, to keep him between the two of them, with her head held low, and trying to vanish behind him. Which she couldn't really do, but she did her best.

"When I came wandering out of the jungle in which I spawned, I were alone, and uncertain of the world outside. A kind pony found me then, and took me under his wing. He used to tell me stories of his time, living among the higher standing beings of Canterlot, before eventually finding himself tired of their backstabbing and gossiping. He came to the jungle to live his last few years in peace, yet instead elected to take me in, and ensure I were prepared for the world outside. I have taken much in the way of speaking, and mannerisms from his teachings, as it seemed one way in which I could show him my respect, and gratitude.

Were it not for him, I have doubts that I would have fared as well as a did, when eventually I had to go and explore the world on my own. Admittedly, there have not been much room for long winded talking and mannerisms the last year, but it does feel good to have the breathing room to return to the norms again.

And in regards to Brittle, I am afraid that shy is not the correct word to use. Horrified, is more descriptive. It would take long to divulge the details, but suffice it to say that her early years have not been marred with positive experience of other creatures, and the last year have not helped her assumption that others wish only to hurt her. In time, she will hopefully feel better, but for the time being, I am afraid that she would not respond positively to a direct inquiry. She have also sadly been rendered mute the last four months, roughly. Even I haven't heard her voice since then.

If I may redirect the conversation, I wonder what this cycle you speak off are though? Nothing dangerous I ho-"

The calm periods lasted anywhere from a few minutes to several seconds.

Fifteen minutes later the movement of the project stopped, and an announcement came out, "Cycling complete. We've arrived over what looks like Minostralia."

His long-windedness, and minor pauses between addressing certain subjects, to ensure that Brittle were feeling as comfy as she now could be, would mean he were talking up into the cycle happening. Something which would make him stagger, as if he had been drinking heavily. Even after it were over, he stood with shaking hooves, and tried to realign his senses again.

"T-That were... Quite unpleasant. Brittle, are you okay? Oh Earth Mother..."

He felt down with a vine, and found that where Brittle had stood, now were what could best be described, as a half meter cotton ball, bright green, with a tail made of varied corkscrews slacking down on the ground, and wrapping some times around his vine as it extended down. It smelled as if she were emitting some nauseating pheromone too, which made him feel somewhat queasy, but he couldn't wander off regardless. Painful, or uncomfortable as it were, she needed him more than normal, when she had a fear change like this. It might get to others within half a meter of her though, so best not to do that.

"Another fear response... Troubling development, yet unsurprising, from that cycle. Whatever it may be."

She had helped find a lost herd member and been honoured with a dream-catcher - she had assumed that the cryptic assurance from the buffalo shaman that it could sense when evil spirits were near was just mumbo jumbo, but it reliably chimed when hostile magical creatures or items or traps threatened her. Setting it up in her camps, it had saved her more than once.

Anyway, her device chimed in the dark, warning her that the picture of the snake was more than it seemed - its chimes tinkled most clearly near the eyes of the snake, which seemed to gleam malevolently in the darkness... "Careful!" Fuchsia whispers, and presses a hoof to Billowing's shoulder to halt him. "I think there's some evil magic in this mosaic."

Smokey had halted to have a better look at the mosaic as well, wondering if it perhaps depicted something of a danger in here. Weren't too unusual to have that happen, as a lot of such temples had guardians, or were built to keep something locked up. Often the things depicted had long since escaped, or died, but it never hurt to watch and make sure. Especially not as even though the prime one of old might be dead, there were always the chance of offspring that had taken their place, which might well be even nastier.

His eyes shifted away as he saw his companion withdraw something, which seemed to let off some chimes. A peculiar little device, that certainly drew his eyes to it, wanting to know what the meaning might be of this thing. An answer he got before the question even left his muzzle.

"A dark magic sensor? Haven't seen one of those in years, and the last were not this musical. A rare treasure you have there, and one whose warning I will take to heart. In fact..."

Smokey would pick up a loose rock tot he side, and wrap it in a small smoke spell, before throwing it forward, just to see if anything would activate. if not, he'd continue to move on, and use said stone to check for more areas that might have a dangerous, magical ward. Slower though, in case they'd find some stones that had a movement sensitive trigger, or other such traps, along with whatever dark magic might linger here. If it were close, of course. Could be it were powerful, and just radiating it this far out.

**Her eyes suddenly glow with a pink light and another voice speaks through her,** "It's a reminder of a mistake made long ago. And we mean very long ago. Back before the three pony tribes and even before the first Great Shadow War. We, the first mother, had given life to a special race meant to protect, preserve and help grow the essence of our power. But part of that race broken our most sacred of rules. That rule being to never consume the essence gift of our power. This part of that race had done so and we punished them for it, with a curse that makes them require it to survive. Only two ways are now known to us to break this curse. One was discovered by a lowly Changeling by the name of Thorax. The other is what this one has began to undergo. She doesn't even know we are listening and watching. And you little fairy, are a beautiful sight to behold, despite the chaotic origins that made you. If Lord Chaos could see his children now, so few but so powerful, he would weep tears of pride for them."

"Hehe, do that again, it was funny."

Rose were delighted at what she had just heard. Not so much the story, as she thought that was crazy talk, but more the fun in there apparently being a two in one package here. Maybe a possession by an old spirit, or some special mutation, but definitely something weird. And with them, weird were a compliment.

"So you're a two part mutation bug pony, or bundles of crazy? Hehe, mom's really gonna like you. And definitely wouldn't want me to do anything to you now. Best when folks are real weird to begin with, but come on, we're almost ther- Hey!"

A chunk of the ceiling fell down, headed towards the shark pony mare, who had looked curious at Cacora as her voice changed, confused at what she just heard. It didn't hit her though, as Rose extended a hand towards the stone, and from her fingertips, fired off a lightning bolt of pure black. It were as if the light itself refused to touch the thing, and when it hit the rock, it didn't explode, or pulverize. It were completely evaporated into it's base molecules, and the energy fizzled back out into the world. Leaving the shark mare even more confused as for what she had seen, but safe.

"Hmph. The castle aren't allowed to hurt the guests, unless they're mean, and we made it alive first.

So, in case you're not crazy, can the other one hear me? I wanna say thanks for the compliment. A lotta folks thinks draconequui like mom, or offspring like Henry and me, are monsters. Boo to them, right? Henry's totally innocent, and I'm getting better at not being like, irrationally crazy when I see plastic.

You have any fun things that really tick you off?"

Besides, the crystal fair should be coming around soon, if I am not mistaken."

"I couldn't say. I've been imprisoned in crystal for the majority of the past few millennia, and only released within the last few months. I have no made myself aware of all of the holidays that have sprung up in my absence. Though I imagine this holiday you speak of, are the time of year I kept hearing more noise than usual, in my prison?

In any case, I may be able to help when the time comes, but I need permission first. It is up to you to gain that, as it is mine to serve my mistress and her husband, as well as I can."

**He then gathers his words following her still and says,** "I also already knew that I would need to prove myself and my trust. One doesn't simply ask for something with nothing to offer in return. But that's to regain the matrix. I was more of less seeking her aid in weaving a spell of sorts. It is a simple spell and I know how to cast but can't currently do so. That's also why I was hoping to send off the scrolls first and leave a message for the sisters. It's a simple message and Luna would easily be able to understand what it means."

"Hmmm, a workable plan. Perhaps you would prefer we start wandering towards the palace first then? I can't pass through inside of it, due to the wards it holds, but I can enter the garden. We could deliver it there then, and return to this path. In Equestrian time, it would only be a detour of I would say, six minutes, at worst. Less if you run, but I would not advise it. If you fall down from these tendrils, you are never returning again, and I am not going down to pick you up. Stronger and more ancient beings than I have been taken by those below, and I am not arrogant enough to think I would fare better.

It is up to you though. I can also simply park you in a location, then go do this myself. IN either case, it sounds as if you need the night princess to be of some help in this matter. Which means it does require some preparation time from that angle, yes?"

"You may h-have been thinking about The Unicorn of Cods. It have witches, and some questions about good and evil there. It's also a p-pretty popular, classic play. Far as I know, we're performing that in... T-Twenty-six days, in Las Pegasus. During the midday to evening shows.

And uhm... N-Nice to meet you. I'm Jelly, yes. I'm guessing that means this last one is... Boba?"

    "Rosa, actually."

"S-Sorry, it'd been a little hectic, and we were both busy. I didn't hear the names all that w-well."

Rosa would dismiss this being an issue, and it would be about the time they then had, before the show went on, and they had an experience worth looking at. At least in his opinion, which as the others began to reply, sounded like weren't just him.

Once the show was over, the siblings clapped with the crowd. They’d remain silent for a while, taking in everything they’ve seen and heard, clearly having enjoyed the show. Admittedly, they were a little confused about what went on in some parts of the story, but the visuals had them glued to the show the whole time. Once Rosa’s reception to the show was evident, the siblings were feeling good about everything going on.

“Seeing this show was a great experience! I’m glad you brought it up so we could enjoy it.”

“Definitely! And it’s clear you enjoyed it. What was your favorite part?”

"I must admit, I have always been rather partial to the tea party. Dealing with logical thinking all the time, it is fun sometimes to witness something where logic is twisted to such a degree, for pure entertainment value. And the songs are rather catchy too. The last time I saw a performance, they got stuck in my head for weeks afterwards. Not thee worst thing to go around and hum at times, certainly."

"The tea party reminded me of Master Discord. I think I liked that. Felt familiar."

Omen's perspective on these sorts of things, were if she could relate to it, as it were then easier for her to guess how she felt about things. This one had been close to what she recalled back in her early days of being in Equestria, so it resonated with her. Though she think that perhaps she liked the queen as a character more. Something about her caught her interest, and made her follow her with her eyes, every time she were on stage. And not just because she knew it was Cheshire.

Shrimp had been interested when the scene with the random things Haylice ate were there. But he were a being focused on food at his current age, so no big wonder there.

"What of you two? What caught your eyes, and what might you think of the play in general? It's somewhat nonsensical, but it is a treasured one in several equine cultures."

I d-don't know how I would feel if you were to...focus on me when you clearly have...all this going on...but if that is...the way to move forward than it shall be..." Magnolia said in a slightly strained fashion. She really cared for her friend, and was unsure how to feel about how to move forward here, clearly. But still, her attempt at consoling Zeehva would show that she cares, to the utmost degree.

Zeehva smiled through her tears yet they didn't stop falling. It were not that simple to simply forego weeping over a lost future, but it felt good to have one here, who to some degree understood, and were sympathetic.

Zeehva would also wrap a hoof herself around Magnolia, and place her head gently on the side of the mare's throat. A sign of endearment and trust where she came from, as hugs were not as common as the air one breathed, like it were here in Equestria.

"Shhh, it's okay. You don't have to be worried about me. Though your words are kind, my tears have fallen for a long time now, and they will continue to for a long time more, though it helps that you are here. It reminds me that there are those who care, as well as those who needs my help in kind. That means more than you might think."

She'd let go of Magnolia once her friend were ready for it, though she admitted to feeling a little reluctant to do so herself. Despite her words of encouragement, and telling Magnolia that she were helping by showing that she cared, Zeehva wouldn't be able to lie to herself, about wanting just a few more seconds. Though that feeling would continue, so best if one just stopped when it were possible, and moved on, before it became awkward.

She'd wipe the tears from her wet eyes, and put on a warm smile for Magnolia, to try and soothe her mind a little.

"I don't recall a full day were I haven't cried, since his passing. I suppose, that's why Equestrians have come to all me The Weeping Widow, even if it confused some ghost hunters that came looking for me.

Maybe a story you'd like to hear? Though keep your ears peeled. We're soon in the forest, and in Equestria, that means timberwolf territory. It's best to be on your guard."

"I could see why. Personally, I don't believe there is much for me to see here, as your jewelry, clothes, and various knickknacks, are not made for one of my stature. And your statues are too small, for me to think them worthwhile as decorations.

My want for wandering here, is more to see how far this acceptance that were spouted out, truly matters. Thus far, it seems we have not been assaulted by guards, and only had one minor, insignificant creature that considered itself above us. A fairly well done task so far, but let us see if we can reach the other end of town before I make a final judgement."

They would be followed as they wandered around, by some guards. Night Guards that lurked in the shadows. The ones who had been after them earlier, in preparation to strike. Enzo knew they were there now, but he fully intended to ignore them. They were likely just a security measure, in case the three of them started to go on a rampage. Or rather, if he did, specifically. He could likely deal the most damage, through sheer physical strength alone., than Atzy and Karmic could, if they put their all into it. It may change over time, but right now, it hardly seemed likely.

"Have either of you anything you wish to see here? I am not in a rush, if that is so."

I just have to figure out something to do with you now," she told the bug creature before trotting over to Cherish and looked at her in concern. "Are you doing okay, Cherish? We've got two ingredients, we just need a third one now and hopefully, we can perform the ritual for you to unbind you from the stick and onto my castle."

"Thzzzcrxx. The queen won't like I left. But she will be appeased to know of the outside."

"It better not be to cause trouble."

"Xxkrth. She is not as The Eternal Queen were. The invader we met, made sure to tell her children what would happen, were they to follow the path of war. Princess Endorphine was the only one who listened. The sole contender for the throne."

It were implied here, that the other potential queens who could take over, whom had not been listening to Madamme Macabre's warnings, were no longer among them. No wonder that this one were wary and alert once it met the elderly mare. She had personally seen the danger that one posed, and like her new queen, had understood that her warning were best heard, and her presence one to fear.

Meanwhile, Cherish were getting more in focus, as she managed to get past her feeling of queasy, new-vomiting. Something told her that she'd never get used to teleporting, judging by how it had affected her thus far. Must be what others who had seasickness felt like,, when they had to be on a boat.

    "Urgh. I'm... I'm fine. It's passing.

Though you heard the scary mare, princess. It wouldn't rebind me. I'd be free, if it were. It'd still stay though. I made a promise. It'll just be nice to be able to float around elsewhere, without having to rely on you to move me. At least for the next few centuries. I thingk it might get me stuck again eventually, if I stay in an area, but being confined to a whole town isn't so bad, right? That's still a lot more space than before.

Some rather crude stuff, which the goo monster then started to repeat, whilst slowly changing it's gooey form to one looking like Happy.

"Oh come on, that's not cool!"

"What? Goo creatures? But they're so fun. Don't you think so, bug pony?"

"Ooooh, is this some sort of wagon? It's really pretty, sir."

She'd give her compliments to the driver, once Grave figured out what this cart were for in the first place. They got nothing like this in Harrowmark, that she knew of. Maybe in the capitol, but she had never been there, so how would she know? She just knew her smaller areas, and the ghost town she had settled down in eventually, and that was about it. And in those places, you either walked, or used an open, or semi-open wagon with a diamond dog, controlled risen, or tamed wicker creature of some kind to drag it along.

She'd tentatively wander inside the cart, and have a seat on the spot that had been made for her, and she weren't gonna lie: She felt like royalty. It was a very pretty thing, and there were being transported within it. Whilst wearing her new dress. This were the sort you'd only experience in fairytales where she were from, or what one could imagine the royalties did, when Twisted had them parade for his own, mocking amusement.

    She'

d look out the window the entire trip, with eyes gazing on in wonder at the splendor of it all. She must've looked like an oversized filly to the two officers, but she just couldn't help herself. Everything was so pretty, and full of life. Even the alleys where the dumpsters were, seemed to have a more high class, friendly feel than what she were used to. Granted, there were likely no mimics or rat kings there either, so that helped, but still. Very pretty and full of things to explore for her, in the times ahead.

"This place is so amazing. Even when I still lived in a town full of living ponies, there were nowhere near this sort of lively atmosphere. And the amount of ponies are craaazy. And just look at how orderly and clean it all are! Eeee.  This beats the ghost town I lived in by so much, I can't even measure it.

Are every place in this country this amazing? Like, is it all full of massive amounts of buildings, and happy creatures? Is it just ponies out there, or do you have diamond dogs too, for example? They're great creatures. Had one as a good friend before the thorn illness took him.

    *gasp* What's That?!"

She'd point out through the window, as a large creature wandering down the street, with scales and a long tail. Along with massive wings, and a rather regal walk to him. A special creature she had never experienced before.

To the others, this would register as a typical city dragon. The sort who tended to get along well enough with ponies, and weren't so large that they couldn't orderly live in a town with the smaller creatures. Even if this one were about six times that of a regular pony. Well behaved it seemed though, as he waited his turn, as carts went past, and made sure not to step on anyone, or swipe things with his tail.

"I think you're right. They know us now, so if they cause more trouble, we can return to deal with them. For a price. Something tells me with the issues they have, the ponies may be willing to pay us to return here eventually."

Leviathan would slowly, yet reluctantly let go of Charir. It were good that he seemed somewhat receptive to her more caring attitude, but she wouldn't overstay her welcome on that matter. Not when it were something so new, and drastically different from what he were used to.

The way Ruby acted were likely different for him too. To go from having one caretaker basically treating him like dirt, to now have two where one gave him a sort of care their variant of dragons seemingly weren't used to, and the other were staunchly defensive, must be strange for the young one.

"Come on then, let's fly away, and see what else we can find to do. Maybe something less dangerous, after this thrill. A little too close to getting Charir hurt for my taste."

She'd fly up quickly, and have a look around, just to see what were happening, and then seemingly froze. Something had apparently caught her eye.

"Huh... Stay here for a bit, or just fly out I'll be there soon."

When she would eventually rejoin them, she would be carrying an old pair of glasses, seemingly fit for a pony, with various gears and such on it. The glass itself seemed broken on the left, yet inside, were a folded piece of bark, with a scrawled plea for help, and something about being trapped by the chimera alpha. Old set of glasses, but the scribble seemed almost fresh.

"Saw it glistening in a tree. Seems like something they'd want to hear about on our way out. Guessing this alpha is the one who had the loud hissing earlier."

"Wise. Never know when you face anti-magic, or a blade won't do the trick. Versatility is often the key to victory."

It wouldn't always work, as there were times when you faced one superior in everything, compared to you. How one then handled things, tended to vary. Some wanting to die in a blaze of glory. Others surrendering, and praying for the best. Whilst she for example, would bargain with the one who won, to ensure her own hide.

"So you have means to support yourself then. That is an important part, and I may know where to find some weapons that could be of use. to you. Without technically stealing them. I don't consider it to be theft is the previous owners are already dead, in any case. Some adventurers are predictably reckless, and leaves salvageable parts behind.

Yet first, you need to be at enough strength to wander out of here. From what I have scoured, you seem to be healthy at least, so the question just comes down to when you are feeling healthy enough to walk without issues. From your condition when I found you, I can imagine it may take a few days. Though I cannot say. You may simply be this scrawny by nature.

Though recovery tends to require suitable food, and rest. Rest I doubt will be an issue, but I can't imagine there are meat within this premise, as this town is full of equines. Predictably against the practice of butchering, though I am have no qualms about it. I could offer to procure some fresh meat, if it were of some interest?"

She didn't usually go out of her way to serve others like this, but she had a need for them to be on good terms with one another, for when the princess would inevitably seek them out. It would help her case, as much as it would theirs, and it wasn't as if she had lied about doing this for selfish reasons. He spoke in a lovely, formal, and attracted tone, something which I don't expect from a bartender.

The push was a nice idea but Sorrow had already been in motion, and it ended up causing her to get off balance, and waddle forwards, before falling on her stomach. Which caused Legion to swing up, and hit her in the noggin. Made for quite a hollow clonk, but at least she hadn't gotten the teeth stuck on her head, and gotten an imprint that way. Though some might feel snarky enough to ask if the hollow sound had come from the oversized rodent skull, or her own. Like she had never heard That one before.

Molotov grinned at Light, and gave him a little wiggle with his free eye. It were sure nice to get the offering of help, but he were being serious here, to some extend. They Just met. It were probably best for them to get more chummy before going ahead and checking there.

"Also, it's my home, but we'd technically be trespassing, since it's locked down by the royal guards. So, not thinking it's right to just throw you into legal issues. Ain't a good start."

Blue and Luna felt pity for Molotov and Blitz upon hearing Molotov's tale. It was a sad tradedy that could leave a scar in the life of any pony or creature. Wanting to comfort Molotov, Luna approached and did what any mares would unlikely do to strangers: she hugged him.

Molotov froze as the mare hugged him, unsure of what to do. Usually mares only got this close to toss him into a wall or something, so he were a bit on the deep end here. Didn't help either the the mood were sorta broken, by the fact that the mare had hit Carmen, who then to not fall to the ground, grasped hold of Molotov's mane with her small fang, swung, and ended up plopping into Luna's mane.

"Hey, that's uuh... Thanks gal. Maybe just stand still and lemme help you with that though?"

He'd use his magic to get Carmen out of the hair, though how difficult it'd be, depended on if Luna decided if she wanted to flail around, and make it worse. Carmen traversed well in hair normally, but she had gotten plopped in on an unusual trajectory. It didn't make it a simple task for her in this situation, and not everypony dealt with a spider that were about the size of a filly's head, with grey, fuzzy hair and metallic legs. It had a certain *Eeeew* effect on some. Especially arachnophobes, and technophobes.

Hey there, and thank you for the interest. :) Could you perhaps tell us more of your OC? Potential powers, race, sliver of backstory, and looks? I imagine the profile pic is her, yes?

And sorry for slow response. Have a lot of responses to make today, so behind on lots of things. :)

Thanks for the assistance on this, @Windy Breeze ^^

It was also rather dark on the stairs, only dim lights present at each landing, each one looking identical to the one prior save for the floor number. "I forgot how many stairs there were when we went down, it must have been the fear that made it so short a trip."

He paused a moment to look down the center of the stairway, separating the two enough that he was outside her influence when they reached the next landing, where Arcade suddenly disappeared.

Null could hear him calling from several floors above her, "I think I found out how we got down so quickly! I'll, um, wait here for you to catch up."

A lot of stairs? Sounded like training for her, not a big hurdle. Though if Arcade had an issue with keeping up, she'd be more than happy to stop up briefly, and give him a challenging stare before moving on. Maybe a tiny giggle, just for fun. She were but a simple mortal after all, and not above having a bit of fun on another's behalf.

It stopped entertaining her when he were suddenly vanished, after they had gotten some distance between one another, due to the bad stairs. No wonder they used an elevator, with this shoddy work, right? Or they were all just weaklings who couldn't handle a little walk. Whatever. Wasn't important, as much as find out where Arcade had gone off to!

THe answer would come before she got out of her good skin, as he called out from up higher. Apparently, there were some sort of teleportation field here? What the hay? When no one used the stairs, what were the point? Unless... Something were here that someone didn't want to be seen?

"Just stay put! I'll be there soon."

And so, she'd wander up, though she'd also look extra hard around, trying to see if there were something as she ascended the annoying stairs. Might be it were just convenience, but could also be that there were something in these middle floors that someone didn't want to get scrutinized. If she were wrong, at worst she'd just end up getting up to Arcade, and no worries there. If she weren't, there might be something disturbing she had to deal with first.

The guard mare nodded, "It sounds like you're not excited to find out this pony is alive. I'll let the guards know to keep a more watchful eye, we don't want anything happening to the foals."

"I'm not sure yet what I f-feel about seeing him. He's an uhm... Special sort. But these days, one s-should be happy about running into someone they knew before the crisis, right? I'll f-figure out how I feel about things when I see him. He might've changed."

A little awkward to talk about Molotov, but it wasn't as if she could push him out of her mind all that much, right? He were coming here after all, to visit her. Might be he were still the same, rather pushy type as before, but it could be that she could take it better now. Or that he changed. Or a thousand other little variables, and all she could do, were to wait and see what would happen. Worst case, she'd end up kicking him to the curb, and consider it a lesson learned. Best case, she'd manage to get a good conversation with one of the only beings she had some certainty were alive from her past. Even if it were a pushy inventor she had barely known, that had shown an interest in her that she at the time, didn't know what to do about. Frankly she still didn't, but that was doubtful to matter anyway. He must've gotten new interests in the years since then. Like staying alive, with a personality that she assumed would've gotten him thrown out to the spawn with a bow wrapped around him. Another sign it must've changed.

She'd nod a farewell to the mare as she left, and return to the others. Preferably before her dinner got cold, or Lacuna waddled down to shove his whole head into it, to get to potentially softer bits at the bottom.

The young ponies had gathered around so they could all face Elef as they ate and listened. He set his new bags with books carefully next to his bed before joining them with his small bowl of stew. "So, Ada, that's the guard mare's name, took me out to the old stadium where they were having the festival, it was all covered with these lights, yellow like the sun, and they had this old thestral like me sitting by a fire. Ada had me join the other young thestrals at the fire while the old one talked. It was boring at first, talking about something or other, but then he talked about this one creature, Fastar, who saved a young thestral filly about our age when she was attacked by these wolves made of wood! Fastar had a powerful staff that he used to keep all the thestrals safe until he died. Then the staff was passed down until another creature like Fastar came to reclaim it. That creature then left, and there's a legend that whoever finds the staff and can wield it will be the next leader of the clan, the leader of all thestrals! What if I were to find it? Wouldn't that be cool?"

"I've seen those creatures before, Elef. They're called Timberwolves. I don't know if they're still there, b-but they used to be all over Equestria, so maybe that's where it took place?"

They were not just relegated to there, but it were primarily where she had seen them. Every country tended to have some sort of living fauna around, and timberwolves were not the rarest, nor completely isolated to just one country. Nasty things too at times, but they were easily dealt with, if you knew what you were doing, and a far cry from some other fauna creatures. Like the wicker bears of Harrowmark. intensely aggressive, nasty things, and quite a bit less prone to being split apart than the timberwolves.

Anyway, she had just wanted to add that she knew of the creatures, so that Elef knew that it were not just some fantasy. The creatures were real, as were magical weaponry. So it were possible that there may be that staff he spoke off, somewhere out there.

Something about the story rang a bell too, when the weapon came up. A staff to unite the thestral... The rest of the story sounded somewhat generic, but something about this part, sounded almost familiar... Probably nothing, but she got the feeling this was going to nag her a little, once it got quieter, and she could focus on it.

"A-Anyway, it sounds like a nice story, Elef. And it would be good if you found it, but if you want to go and do t-that when you grow older, you have to learn what it is like to be an a-adventurer. I've been many places, and learned how to survive out there. Maybe I can s-show you some things one day, if you'd like that?"

She'd pat him gently on the head. and give him a warm smile. She'd prefer he didn't take off to chase a potential pipe dream, but if he felt the urge to go into the great unknown, she'd rather that he were prepared for it. It wasn't just fighting one needed to know to make it on the road, but general survival tips too, knowing how to lay and spot traps, deal with various toxins, and so on. It wasn't just something you threw yourself into on a whim. Not if you were expecting to return alive anyway, and she'd very much wish for him to live a long, happy life.

"Now remember to eat, everyone. Before it grows cold. Afterwards, I'll s-see if the surprise I made before is ready."

She'd make sure to eat, and if anyone asked for seconds, she'd pour up. Weren't as if the foals were eating too much, in her opinion. And honestly, if her mom had been here, and weren't pregnant, she would've likely more or less force fed them, as she'd think they needed to be well and proper fed, after the ordeals they had been through. At least she would have, back in the day. Things may well have changed on that account too.

I didn't leave it out. I just had nothing to respond to. I just checked again, and between posts, you hadn't responded. I put one in at night Thursday, then responded to those that were there yesterday. Looking at the timing of the posts after it though, it seems as if you may have posted just a little bit after I were done, and had entered the post for the day. :) So a matter of unfortunate timing it appears.

As for Magnolia specifically though, I wrote in a respond to her the last time, on Thursday. Posting it here, so you can see it here as well, though it is roughly 2/3'ths down the page, among the other posts from Thursday.

"I...I..am s-so sorry for...doing what I d-did to you...and what I was planning to do...I have no idea where we are at...this is all new to me. I don't know how to handle it...I am not sure what to say as for what you say..but it seems correct to me. I don't like that stallion one bit and I never want to see him again. S-scarcity feels like someone that...you can pour your heart out too and she won't hurt you..."

"We all make mistakes. Let's just focus on the positive, in you not making a truly terrible one. It would be harder for others to forgive that, and I don't want it to be harder to have you become someone better in their eyes. I believe that we can make you a hero to them, and then you'll see that the world will look brighter."

The forest got more into sight, as she turned her head and gave a tired smile towards Magnolia. Such an unfortunate soul, to have been given so much potential, but only had it corrupted, by the darkness of others. There'd be some work in getting her to embrace the light, but she had reached her hoof out to Zeehva, and she believed that in time, the mare would become a pillar of any community, lucky enough to have her. They just had to put in the effort, and now that she had her answers on her, she needed another path in her life. Helping Magnolia, would be a good one, and one that she knew her husband would have approved of.

"And well... S-Scarcity trades in favors, if not riches. If she hears about your misery, she might offer some help. Long as you're able to do something in return. I can think of worse to speak with about your worries. For a problem solver, she seems moral enough."

She wouldn't say too much, in case the mare could hear her. She may be helpful, but she doubted Scarcity were the sort who liked being treated rudely, or spoken badly about.

In another age, she could imagine her husband taking contact to her. Begrudgingly, but still.

"But you shouldn't focus on them, okay? Right now, we should try and look forward. Not just to get to a town, o-obviously. I mean in general. Because trying to go down a new path like you are Magnolia, is gonna take time, and it might not go well at first. But you'll get through it, okay? I'll be there, and make sure that you always have someone there to believe in you, and make sure you remember that no matter what others might say: You're a good pony, and you deserve a chance to prove it."

A strange thing, to give this talk to others, but... It was good, right? It were important, and definitely the right thing to do. She just hoped she'd be able to be enough here, to help Magnolia.

"A-and as for you I can tell...that it probably is bad. We'll look at that folder...when you are ready of course. And if you...want me to. Looking at it together might help." Magnolia did another small smile back to Zeehva and rubbed her side slightly. "A-and...maybe we can get your...scars removed too...I notice you have a lot..." she said shyly, looking at Zeehva's scars in sadness.

    "My scars..."

Zeehva ran one across a rather nasty one, slashing her throat. A troubling one, that the healers had been amazed didn't cause her issues, such at permanent muteness. Even for zebras, they hadn't been sure their crafts could do much for her at the time. She had been extremely lucky, and she knew it well.

"I lived among zebra, to be with my husband. I earned my stripes from them, and in the end, they saved me. Yet they too say that my scars can never be healed, before I let go of the past. And... I don't know how, yet. It still hurts to think about losing him. Good or bad times, I think about him every day. I just c-can't..."

Her steps slowed, and eyes closed, as tears fell from her eyes yet again. Why must it torment her to remember him so? She knew he would want her to think of him fondly, and find a life beyond him. It were what would make him happy. But she just couldn't make herself see past him. From their wedding rings to her wedding dress, which she carried on her being, she couldn't let go of the dream that had been so cruelly stolen from her.

"It will take time, and for me to feel as if he have gotten justice for what happened to him. The first step towards that, will be when I am ready to read this file. Hopefully, it will be soon, yet until then, I would like to focus fully on you. You have scars of your own that needs tending, even if they can't be seen."
