    Is it legal for a non-charitable organization to receive donations? I've been thinking back to Legends of Everfree and Dance Magic, where the girls raised money to donate for the camp. Is that allowed, or are there some rule-breaking things here that would get them in trouble if not for the fact they're the main characters?

      It's legal. Donations can be set up for any source so long as they are clear in their intentions and follow through. Sites like GoFundMe are very popular for that purpose, for example. There have been real life situations were activity centres or camps have been successfully funded through voluntary donations.
