  1. It seems most brony boards I go to, however relatively limited in number, bronies are pressured to tell others they are a brony so they don't need to hide it. Obviously if you feel your heart will burst like the sunshine on a summer's day, go right ahead and tell people. But realistically, it doesn't really matter. I don't go around telling people I'm a fan of RWBY as well (except just now I guess). Is it like a brony pride thing? or is not as common as I'm making it out to be?
  2. Dang, you got me. I got nothin' else.
  3. This isn't just your basic, "do you like EQG" topic. I knew how much the EQG fanbase has grown, but I want to know exactly when it grew. Check the box for the one that best fits you, and comment below why that particular movie/time took you over. If you don't think an option fits you, feel free to comment below as well! If you still aren't sure on the Acronyms: -EQG = Equestria Girls -RR = Rainbow Rocks -FG = Friendship Games
  4. Wow, okay. But I'm seeing a distinct lack of sitting down in the streets.
  5. Nightmare Moon's laugh was the best for me. If for nothing else, then it was the classic villain laugh that you can't not love. Or else it would be Twilight's crazed laughter during Lesson Zero (I think?).
  6. They absolutely are. They have the potential to do anything the other 2 races can do, but that doesn't go the other way. Fortunately, unlike the real world, Equestria tries to be equal opportunity, because if they weren't, Unicorns would take over the world.
  7. I've been thinking, and Manehatten is a confusing place. They didn't stop for a princess first of all. And they try to make it seem like you can't go on the "road", with crosswalks and all, even though the only thing on the road is horse-drawn carriages. But at the end of "Made in Manehatten", there are ponies just walking casually on the street while carriages pass them by! Then they even just sit down in the street to watch a play. What is going on here?
  8. Judging by this article on EQD, (http://www.equestriadaily.com/2016/01/exploring-equestria-is-new-theme-of.html) it seems season 6 will finally satiate that hunger for exploration I know some bronies (myself included) are craving. Now note I took this 100% at face value and have no clue of it's authenticity. How do you feel about this? Do you like the idea of exploration? Do you want it to be like current episodes and stick with the SoL-type explorations like "Made in Manehatten", or the adventure-type ones like "Griffonstone"? Or perhaps you would rather keep it in and around Ponyville? (to each their own I guess)
  9. It seems we have a good discussion going here, from parasprites, to a villian war, and even Fallout Equestria. But I have a headcannon, that all the villians started fighting, and the tree of harmony realized the world had no saviors and was doomed. So it sent out a wave that leveled everything, to wait for new life to form, as it had time and time before. So happy, right? Like I said, we'll never know, but it's fun to make up stuff.
  10. A very good episode. Probably the episode with the most continuity, which is great. And it had war-torn Equestria, which was just amazing.
  11. If you need to choose just a few, I would definately buy the Fiendship is Magic series, except the Siren Issue. The Sombra and Chrysalis comics show sides of them that are just vile, and the Sombra one has some feels.
  12. There are season 5 finale spoilers (even if it's been two weeks already) So I've been thinking... The season 5 finale had a lot of alternate timelines, most of which were cut and dry, someone won who previously didn't sort of deals. All, except for one. The one that happened to be there when Starlight Glimmer was dragged to the future with Twilight. This alternate timeline was completely barren, windy, and de-saturated. There didn't seem to be other ponies or even traces of life in the immediate vicinity. All the other villains already had their timeline's revealed, so... who caused it? Maybe it was someone whom we would never expect, or perhaps it was a future in which no one won? who? or what? We may never know. But we can speculate.
  13. Even if it was, some topics are good enough to be refreshed to get multiple people's views. ------------ The only question I have for the topic itself though is: What else would you have done with them? No one blinks an eye when the bad guy is killed in a mature rated video game, and that has happened WAY more often than a reformed villain. I also think it happens a little too often, but I tell myself, the only other way is to destroy them, imprison them, or else let them escape. Destroying them is hardly fitting for a show about friendship, imprisoning isn't too far behind, and letting them escape isn't winning. The reformations have been less EoH Deus Ex Machina, so I'm okay with reformations like Starlight's or Diamond's.
  14. Yeah, I guess she is kinda like Marty. I did create her to have a very similar "young adult with something to prove" personality that they both share. You know, that was completely coincidental, but now that I look at it, they do stroke the same direction. --------- Thanks everyone else for your reply's. The support is really awesome!
  15. Page:http://solywack.deviantart.com/art/Tinker-Pony-OC-583692477 I told myself I would never create a pony OC, because everybody else was doing it, and I'm working on HUMAN anatomy. But it was inevitable . So here it is. I was going for a semi-realistic look, as I don't think I'm quite ready to pull off full realism. Some parts are better than others, so your guys input would be great!
  16. Hmm. You and me are one in the same Nightmare Muffin. I do O' so enjoy your topics. I'll admit I came in here ready to argue you were wrong, but those are some very good points. Other then the ponies and telekinesis, the world is largely like our own. On it's own, gen4 seems very fantasy, but Juxtapose it next to earlier generations, and it does become very obvious that the show is lacking the fantasy element. Although adventure isn't a requirement for high fantasy, it definitely helps. Unfortunately many bronies seem to prefer the current way Slice of Life episodes are handled, and the writer's are being objectively wise and sticking to a status quo. I think Metemponychosis said my personal thoughts best. Equestria is becoming, or perhaps was always, just a modern, industrial world like our own with some magic, rather than a medieval-esque fantasy world that some might have liked. That's of course, not to say I don't enjoy the current formula. But I certainly wouldn't argue if some changes were made.
  17. Either: "Uh, beg pardon Rarity, but, uh, we don't normally wear clothes." -Applejack or "Of all the things that could have happened, this is the WORST. POSSIBLE. THING." -Rarity
  18. Could you may haps link these deleted scenes, or else tell me where I can find them? The way you are describing them almost completely switches tracks on the "official stuff" we've seen. It sounds very interesting.
  19. No, and that was part of the problem I'm sure. But also watching only some of the 2-parters made it difficult as well. Like she didn't watch a Canterlot Wedding, so she was lost the whole time they were talking about these "changelings" and "Queen Chrysalis", whom we know well, but others don't.
  20. Oh how it's good to be back after being away for 3 months (thats like 2 1/2 years in dog years!). I hope you all are ready for the plethora of topics I have bottled up. So here's the first: I've been thinking about how good the season 5 finale is to people who like the show, but aren't necessarily "hardcore" if you'll accept that terminology. Here's why: I recently watched the season 5 finale, and thought it was GREAT. As with all the other 2-parters, it blew me away. I especially liked all the continuity with previous villians. But that is exactly the problem here. Maybe not "problem", but "unfortunate side-effect". I re-watched this episode(s) with a friend who watches the show, but has a tendency to skip around. Not too different from anybody else who has only watched a few episodes, but turns to the channel every once in a while. At the end I asked her how she liked it, and she said "It was okay". There's nothing wrong with not liking it, but her reason was: "I just didn't understand a lot of it." Which is interesting if you consider... Starlight Glimmer herself is confusing if you didn't see the s5 premiere, as both Twilight and Spike talk about her, but never directly state she is "the bad guy", you're just supposed to know it. And then there's all the other villains, where even though you might roll with the "they're just the bad guys", you don't know their motives or how they have the ability to cause so much destruction UNLESS you have seen the previous 2-parters. Do you think it's difficult to properly enjoy this episode if you haven't seen previous episodes? Obviously to us Bronies, it doesn't matter much, but what about everybody else? Edit: not saying it was wrong or should be changed. I thought it was great. 'Tis just a question.
  21. Hopefully you find a shooting star tonight, pinocchio. I'd hope they would release a show with the main cast first. (Fingers crossed)
  22. That would be great! It might actually get some of the people that are still somehow leery of Equestria Girls into it, since I assume it would be mainly ponies, as it's an origin story. Although I don't really know how Hasbro would do it. Just as a special maybe? Or would it be it's own episode? I can't see that bodding to well with the purist fans.
  23. This thread's a fossil. Geez. But whatever, it's interesting see how times have changed fron such a dark age of only a single EQG movie. ---- (Now addresing topic as a whole) The movies have always been canon. I've never really understood people's apprehension over it being canon. If you don't like it, don't watch it. I hate it when people come on the to the EQUESTRIA GIRLS FORUM, and just complain about how much they hate it's existense. It's 100% canon. Even if you don't accept it, just stick with ponies. I'll certainly enjoy more mlp content no matter what.
  24. Yeah, it was definately alluding to the finale. I am wondering though if Hasbro meant to release it like this, or they just messed up the timing again, and Season 5 was meant to be over by now like the last two movies.
