I like them because, if nothing else, they give us more. Like you said, that more usually caters to an older audience, so they're actually often better than the show. I feel for the people who haven't read at least some of the comics. They're really missing out. Sometimes I'll see a comment somewhere saying "I just wish they would've expanded on King Sombra, I think he had potential." And I'm just sitting here like naqwdytvReadtheComicsnaqfhdc.

I legitimately feel bad for all of you that didn't like the comic. I loved it. It brought a wee tear to my eye at the end. Far Far FAR superior that anything that is, or ever will be in the show. It just isn't possible to pull off this level of storytelling in a 22 minute Y rated show. Sombra's redemption shouldn't be a surprise. Speaking strictly in universe, Celestia realizes Sombra is much more useful putting Princess Amore back together, then getting Rekt by umbrums in prison. Seriously, can you imagine being stuck, for eternity, in a prison with the most ugly, ruthless, cutthroat, pure-definition-of-evil umbrums that you just pissed off? That's a crime cruel and unusual for a destroyer of worlds, let alone Sombra. Don't get me wrong, Sombra was not a good guy, and should have to pay back society somehow, but Celestia's been in the game long enough to know Sombra is a changed man (or pony whatever). Not strictly pt 4, but I really liked the return of the minor antagonists, and Chrysalis. I never realized how much I wanted to see them, especially after reading the fiendship comics. And Radiant Hope was such a great character. Real strife and progression with her. Just something else they could never pull off in the show. Last thing here. Thank the watcher above me that in the comics they say "everybody". Just one more reason to love 'em. EDIT: Just found out Rabia means rage in Spanish. That would certainly have been suspicious.

It is absolutely way to hyped. We shouldn't go in expecting something revolutionary. Just expect a two-parter that is instead ~90 minutes, instead of 44. That in itself is exiting for me, but still a relatively plausible amount. Too many people fall into the trap of expecting way to much, so even if it's good, it's meh at best.

As someone already said, there's some dumb, stupid, dream creatures already on the moon that she enslaves or something. But seriously, just ignore that one comic. Her being literally trapped in the moon is somehow more plausible. The comic was bad. Really bad.

Like most people have said, she is saying the lines differently, and that contributes to it. But what also makes her sound different is the lines themselves. Someone who used to be a serial killer, and is now a scientist that works to cure cancer is going to sound a lot different just because of the context. Have you ever thought about how much different Luna sounds than Nightmare Moon? Same deal. Its interesting little brain science.

I love the shadow scenes as well. Those are the only things I haven't been able to faithfully recreate on my own. I wonder how they do them. Possibly some After Effects magic?

Since I am a huge animation nerd, junkie, hobbyist, whatever you call it, the point is I like Animation. So I always take screenshots just to see how it was set up, and some I even come to admire from their pure beauty. But you don't need to be into animation to appreciate pretty/awesome/dank screenshots. So post which screenshot you think is the absolute best. I took this one from a fairly recent episode. Questionable quality png, but still really nice. I'm not convinced they did it all in flash.

Seriously, this thing is worthless. "Only the strongest, biggest dragons!" But Spike and Garble (of all dragons) made it there first. Then while they were fighting, literally all the other dragons showed up too. How does this "Gauntlet" somehow allow everybody to finish eventually? The Dragon Lord desperately needed new leadership if this is the best he has.

Or the way I see it, the adult dragons didn't bother to show up because they know there is no true "Dragon Lord", and is only a ceremonial title at best. I think if the Dragon Lord was taken seriously, the ponies would have known about it sooner.

I think the main concern isn't having a gay couple in the show, we already have that. It's that the writer who proposed it explicitly stated he "wouldn't mind" Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy being a couple. I'm not againt LGBT rights, but I am against ruining my favorite show with unnecessary relationships. RD and Flutters have always been friends. They've never been lovey. It would ruin the ascetic of the show.

I have the unpopular opinion of believing MLP should go on for as long as humanely possible, to keep the fandom fueled. But even beyond that bias S5 was not a good season to end on. An excellent season finale it was, but was not a series ending. There was no "bye" or "This is it".

Lucid dreaming is one of those things where innate talent greatly helps, or else you better be prepared to practice until madness. I unfortunately fall into the later category. Practicing lucid dreaming requires a lot of effort that heavily contradicts my other hobby (art), so I even though I wanted it, I could never devote the time. I kept dream journals, and basic lucid dreaming stuff, but staying up until 3 a.m. average really hurt my chances. So it seems that will remain a fantasy. But I am comforted by the fact that most of my dreams involve badass adventures anyway, even if they aren't pony.
