When Pinkie got disqualified, Twilight was able to pick up Sunburst, because according to the rules, she may pick up a contestant that already got disqualified.

Wait a minute...so if the role were reversed and Pinkie got disqualified first, would Twilight had to be “benched” with Pinkie, giving Sunburst the opportunity to pick up Twilight by letting Cranky sleep?

If so, then that’s a very strange rule to me. I can’t think of a reason this rule would exist, other than give shady contestants an opportunity to “trade” partners to gain an unfair advantage.
