Every time I see someone making up theories about where Applejack's parents went, I feel sad, like they're missing out on one of this show's most poetic and moving stories because they refuse to see what's right in front of them. If they turned out to be alive, "The Perfect Pear" would lose most of what makes it such a great episode.
-
I have to agree with you on that. If it turns out they're alive, it could make them look like deadbeats and ruin the point of how the parents lives affected several ponies' lives for the better as well as (the following spoiler box is just my head fanon, so don't take it too seriously)
Spoilerin my head fanon, a certain hungry Changeling guard to one day have a change of heart due to their influence. (C. Will Guide before he had a name)

I really hope that MLP continues its recent hot streak, because I'd love nothing more than to completely change my mind about season 7. I don't want to hate it, and I'm glad that I've liked it for four straight episodes now.
-
@Hierok I've enjoyed every episode since "A Royal Problem," which is good, because before that I enjoyed only two of 9 episodes.
@Lambdadelta This one could go either way. It's an unusual premise, so I'm curious. I just hope there's more going on than just bickering or cringe comedy.
-
Pinkie Pie has a sneaking suspicion that she might be a cartoon character, but she doesn’t know for sure.
-
@Lambdadelta And even Pinkie can't handle it for very long.
-
Equestria Girls 1 would have been more interesting if Twilight had tried to befriend Sunset right away, and then had to teach her that friendship is the real path to that sense of accomplishment she craves.
-
Come to think of it, my soft spot for "Newbie Dash" probably has a lot to do with my fondness for "Equestria Games." Both are deeply empathetic depictions of a very insecure character fucking up repeatedly.

My Past is Not Today. From that day, she decided to abandon her old-self and become a Phoenix, she now stands in even higher ground that i cant look up to her anymore because its too high and far away. I hope Starlight can keep standing in the ground that i can see and look up to, even stand by me. That my metaphor of relatability;3

Wait a minute what happened to my reaction options

@FlareGun45 I'm honestly surprised the tea thing stuck around so long.

My Little Pony premieres, ranked:
- "The Crystalling"
- "The Return of Harmony"
- "The Crystal Empire"
- "Friendship is Magic"
- "The Cutie Map"
- "School Daze"
- "The Beginning of the End"
- "Celestial Advice" / "All Bottled Up"
- "Princess Twilight Sparkle"
-
@AlexanderThrond nice to see someone else who’s favorite premiere is the crystalling.
-
@Mane 6 It strikes the best balance and makes the most sense out of all of them.
-
"The Mean 6" - Were it not for "Horse Play," I would declare this the funniest episode of the season. Just love those Discorded personalities, and teaming them up with a newly-bumbling, vaguely deranged Chrysalis is delightful, as is the way they bounce off both each other and the normal mane seven. Wonder what reverse Starlight would be like. There's even a nice moral at the very end. Man, this season has been fantastic.
-
"The Hooffields & the McColts" is totally underrated.
-
seriously though was that canon AppleDash or what

Started watching that new Equestria Girls short. Got about four parts in and needed to stop... I'll watch the last two when it finishes this week. I am not enjoying this thing at all; it gives Sunset more flaws and has some funny Pinkie moments, but it's just so predictable and so slow-paced, there's also a lot of annoying Pinkie moments, and I'm not sure selfish unlikable Sunset is a good replacement for boring do-gooder Sunset.
But I guess I'll see how the rest is when I finish it.
-
@Kiryu-Chan I've been watching it on YouTube so those ones aren't quite out yet; I kinda dug all of the other stuff at the music festival so this special starting off as a generic bore is frustrating.
-
Anyone keeping notes on all the Lyra and Bon Bon cameos this season? It seems like they've been together a lot in the background lately.
-
I will never understand the mindset of people who complain when My Little Pony characters don't make the absolute best decisions all the time.
-
Just watched "Loving Vincent." Am I alone in thinking that animating Van Gogh's paintings completely ruins them?
-
Am I the only one who thought that "Gauntlet of Fire" was just okay?
-
Equestria Girls season 2 started with a dog video. Nice.
-
If we ever find out the truth about Pinkie Pie, I suspect we will all immediately regret it.
-
@Lambdadelta How does she ignore the laws of reality all the time? Somehow, I don't think we will like the answer.
-
-
I have gems now. Why?
-
You think you're special, you do. I can see it in your eyes...

I'd probably create a blog on here if I weren't already set up offsite. Probably wouldn't do to just post links in all of my blog posts.

"A Horse Shoe-In"
Entertainment: 5/10
Characters: 7/10
Themes: 9/10
Story: 8/10
Overall: 73/100This is good, but I found Trixie's rambling annoying, so I gave "Entertainment" a weaker score to compensate.
-
@Lambdadelta I definitely agree that Trixie saying "wink" got old pretty fast.
-
Both of the good episodes this season are from new writers. Who would have guessed?
-
This new Equestria Girls short series is genuinely the most confident and focused Equestria Girls has felt since at least Friendship Games. Were it not for the 3-minute length, they might even reach the heights of Rainbow Rocks. And it's certainly better than what the show's doing right now, because it's simple and humorous and doesn't beat you over the head with its morals. Seemingly because it doesn't have a whole lot of morals, but hey, has Equestria Girls ever had much in that area?
Still hoping for bigger things, such as Sunset finally getting a chance to return to Equestria - preferably in something which isn't an epic battle with a villain; 22 minutes would be fine for me - and it's not quite what brought me to My Little Pony in the first place, but these have potential. They even gave Sunset hobbies! Next she needs flaws and goals. And, hopefully, a human counterpart. On that subject, I still want a short of the human and pony mane six interacting.
R.I.P. Princess Sunlight shipping, though. I've gotten scraps, but I see no hope of future material. I still kinda miss when Princess Twilight had anything to do with this series. Maybe something in the future.

I have kind of a bad feeling about this "Legends" stuff everyone's talking about, but it's too early to pass judgment. The finale better not tell an impersonal story...
-
So far, any ep involved 'Legends' stories are ranged from ok to bad (the legends are cool but the episodes themself are not), and i am including Health of Information ep.
Right now, I am not very fond of 'Telling Legend' kind of stories, the legends are cool but the episodes are bland by result. Whenever the show try so hard to build up some story arc, it didnt end very well.
