Y'know, I wish they'd do something special with the new years fireworks. every-year, it's same thing. Why not make a shape or something? They do it all the time in the movies, why cant they do it IRL!? Shouldn't be that hard.
(COME ON!!! THAT LOOKS HEAPS BETTER THAN THE CRAP WE GET EVERY YEAR)
It'd be a lot better than the same, boring, over-excessive amount of fireworks we get at New Years day...and maybe cut the stupid music while you're at it. It's totally un-necessary. I dont understand why they play music during the fireworks display. I dont wanna listen to any of the crap that's from the past decade
If you're gonna play some music, at least play one of these during the count-down. Take your pick XP

(or better yet, play this one.)

Honestly, I cant decide what to play on New Years Eve maybe both OwO- Show previous comments 3 more

@Toshigami Equine I'd find it very questionable whether it's possible in real life. I've seen fireworks that have smiley faces, with a red grin, two green eyes, and a yellow circle...but the thing of it is: there's no way of knowing which way that smiley face is going to face: it might be upside-down, it might shoot the sparks out directly toward the audience and look like it's just a flat yellow burst of sparks, it might be sideways.
That's not the only issue, either:
I think that smiley-face firework works by having exactly two rings of sparks that shoot out of it, the first ring faster than the second. The first ring is the yellow outline of the smiley face, and the second ring has most of its sparks be invisible; with about half of them forming a red semicircle for the mouth, and another two are lighted green for each eye.
It'd take a dozen or more rings like that in order for a design as sophisticated as one of the mane six's faces to appear, and I have no idea if a firework rocket can even carry that many rings-of-sparks and still lift off the ground!

It's because you're shaping an explosion.
...I feel like I ought tag @Blitz Boom in this topic, lol!
Like, it's a ball of expanding gas/debris. While you can color or time said explosions, you would have to have it be a 3D object, right? Like, logically working this out in the example of portraying an eyeball with a colored iris, you'd have to have one "ball" of color go off early, then a second ball around that, then a "face" around that which would have several obscured layers.
It's why I've seen the colors go off so well in the palm tree bursts. I know there's technical names for the firework shapes...

Did somepony say... Explosions?! *giddy, maniacal laughter*
Honestly though, the fireworks will likely be able to do this, sooner or later. And it'll be glorious.
