Although it is quite within our capabilities to bypass the technical limitations with a relatively minor amount of coding, the confusing nature of such a choice undermines the clarity that the badge system's very purpose attempts to portray. Perhaps in the event of a revamp of the purpose of badges, this may be possible (for example, unlocking various badges for all kinds of activities, only one of them posting; thus it would not be deceptive if a user had a different badge than their highest post one). However in the current system, from what I know it is unlikely we will allow people to change their badges.

There is no (publicly available) API. But there are built-in functions that may make whatever you're trying to do (short of a bot) easier, for example http://mlpforums.com/index.php?app=forums&module=forums&section=findpost&pid=POSTID.

Indeed, I'm afraid without access to it I won't be able to debug it. For the record, next time this happens, could you try CTRL+F5 (hard refresh, which will also clear the cache)? It could be the author edited and the unedited post remains cached.

That's what confuses me though. You say that refreshing does not affect the quotation, but the issue does not last? On which post have you received this problem before? If you try today to quote the same post, are the post's quote and your quote no longer inconsistent? If not, do you have an estimate on how long the inconsistency lasts?

"Quotations"? What do you mean by that? A quote inside the post of the person you're quoting, or literally text within "quotation marks"?

The cause has been found and has been addressed. Is anyone still experiencing this issue?

I am on my phone so I cannot say for sure, but there is a good chance that my fix for an exploit resulted in disabling this capability. Users could input a signature image and then later on the image's source switch the image around without changing the URL, letting them bypass dimension restrictions. Signatures are now stored server side.

What phone are you using, and what browser?
