"It was a ordinary night in Equestria, Celestia had already lowered the sun and the sky was a perfect hue of blackness. It seemed like billions of stars were in the sky and among them was the beautiful shine of the full moon. Luna was traveling around the land, like she always did during her beautiful nights. Yet again everypony was slumbering and dreaming of day. Luna became annoyed and rather angry at the ponies. They loved her siser's beautiful day but as soon as night hit no pony seemed like they wanted to stay awake. "You selfish ponies! Celebrating my sister's day while ignoring my night! Does no pony enjoy what I do for them?!" questions and rants like that filled her head every night. It seemed hopeless.
The next night came as fast as the last one. Ponies quit laughing and playing and went to their homes to sleep through yet another gorgeous night. Again no pony was awake, but wait! A light shined brightly in the distance. Luna was perplexed at the bright light and flew to the location. A tall mountain was what she met, and atop that mountain was a tiny log cabin. The window seemed to be lit. Luna landed her chariot close tithe log cabin and peered through the window. A young colt around her own age was writing in a journal. He seemed to be getting up and walking to the back room then he'd come back and write something down. Luna started to feel relief. She closed her eyes for several minutes and then as she turned to enter the chariot her face smacked into something. She opened her eyes and say the pony from the cabin staring right at her. He was a shade of blue and wore his gray mane in a strange style. His cutie mark seemed to shine brightly to Luna. It was a Scroll and Moon. "Why are you looking at me through my window?" Luna was dead silent. She took a quick look behind her and noticed the chariot seemed miles away now. "I ask again, you were looking through my window. Why?" "I was just startled at the fact that somepony was still awake. Most are asleep at this time." "Sleep!?" chuckles the pony. "Why sleep and miss this beautiful night!? They are all missing out on the most beautiful sight they've ever seen. I mean during the day you cannot see stars or constellations or moon or planets or comets! Only at this wonderful time can you witness the beauty of the sky. If I could i'd like to thank the pony who makes sure the night constantly appears." Luna shined a coy smile in his direction. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" stammered the colt "I am the one who controls the night." The colt's eyes opened wide. "Wait, I've been talking to a princess all this time?" he fell onto his knees immediately "My Princess! I apologize for not recognizing you!" Luna tapped him on the head and lifted him up "I'm just happy that somepony enjoys my night. May I ask your name?" "Lunar Grey..."They stared at each other for about two minutes. Neither was talking and they both stated with a happy intent. "Um, would you like to enter my cabin?" "That sounds fun!" the two entered the cabin. Grey and Luna talked for hours about the night. "Oh! I must go back to Canterlot! The sun will raise soon. I trust we will see each other tomorrow night yes?" "If you can make it, I'll be here" Luna ran out of the cabin and flew her chariot back home.
Over the next five months Luna visited Grey every night. Both seemed like they had endless things to talk about. It was a beautiful friendship, but one night Luna went to the cabin. The moon was new that night, almost black. As she approached the cabin Luna noticed the light was off. "Maybe he is just waking up?" she ran this thought through her head a thousand times before she arrived at the cabin. "Grey? Lunar Grey?" Luna spoke as she knocked on the door. After getting no response for what seemed like forever she frantically knocked more. Tears streamed down from her eyes and her voice became louder with each knock. The last and hardest knock opened the cabin door. "Grey, thou art here?" Luna peered inside the desolate cabin. No lights, no furniture and a note right at her hooves. Luna's heart was beating as she reluctantly picked up the note and began to read. "Dear Luna, I write this with happiness! I am setting up A party for us tonight in my cabin! I hope you relight this letter!" the letter caused Luna much confusion. "A party? Where does he reside?" Luna walked inside the cabin and noticed a second note. It was not handwritten and was red with white lettering. "To be sent to the dungeons of Sovestria, prepare for our arrival Lunar. You can't run now." Luna, still holding the message flew back to Canterlot and woke up her sister. "What do you need dear sister? It is my turn to rest." "I need your help! A dear friend if mine has gone missing! A foreign land has seized him from here. What can we do?" Luna was now frantic in both her speech and body movements. She handed Celestia the note from Sovestria. "I am sorry sister but nothing can be done. I have no recollection of this place. I don't think I have ever heard of Sovestria. I am sorry dear sister but there is nothing I can do." Without speaking Luna ran. Tears were now flowing down her face. She looked up at the black moon and silently yelled. "All anypony does is ignore me! They can't do nothing for me! My one true friend is gone and my sister declines in helping!" After staring at the new moon Luna snapped. Her outward Appearence became taller. Her clothing and mane, like her heart, was now black. "If no one appreciates me than no one will ever get their precious sun again!"
And that's all I got. Sovestria is a land I made up! It's located tons of miles away. You have to cross a large ocean and a huge mountain range to get there. At the time of Luna becoming Nightmare Moon the land is ruled by a evil Dictator.
And for the awesome bearded pony (Beards are GREAT!!!) how about Zoræk Bass! It's pronounced (Zor-rock, not really but it looks like it right....) my hands hurt now.
