technology Alternative energy, ideas?
Hansel replied to Harmonic Revelations's topic in Media Discussion
I think we should grow a potato the size of the moon and fire it into space, then get a really long wire and just plug it in to the Earth. -

"Norway, huh? Oh, I went there once. Good place to go skinny dipping."
-
8/10 I enjoyed that quite a lot.
-
@, Hansel looked up again at Rambler. "I used to travel quite a lot as well, actually. Though, more so when I was younger. My parents could never really make there minds up about where they wanted to live. When I left home, I decided to settle here in Canterlot, where I was born. I can't say I've been to Stallionshire... though, I have heard about it several time. It's supposed to be a nice place."
-
@, "Oh? That's an interesting tradition." Hansel said. "I'm a sort of artist. As I mentioned to Minath earlier, I'm a little varied... but I work mostly as a freelancer, as well as on more personal projects during my free time. It's what I love... but, it does get frustrating at times." Hansel looked down and took a few sip from his rum 'n' coke. "And... what about yourself? You're quite a long way from home..."
-
@, Hansel was in his own little world and flinched a little when Alex greeted him. He turned and faced the stallion. The smell of the mysterious alcohol was stronger now, and he soon realised that this pony must of had some. Though... he seemed fairly sober. "Oh, hey, I'm Hansel. It's nice to meet you. And... yourself?" He gave a warm smile.
-
"Oh Celestia... how long have I been in here for?" Hansel looked up again and used his magic to adjust the headphones around his neck, which were titled at an odd angle. "Heh, I'm feeling better already." He said to himself., and smiled. He washed his hooves... more out of habit then anything, unlocked the bathroom door, and walked out into the hallway. As he approached the staircase, he could hear new voices chattering downstairs. "Sounds like more guests have arrived." He thought. He walked down the staircase and up to the entrance of the main area. He was right, more ponies were here now... well, at least that's who he assumed the two new ponies were. He could also smell the very distinct aroma of beer... as well as a beverage he couldn't recognise. Whatever it was, though... it was strong... and very enticing. He decided it would be best to stay away from it, and headed towards the table where the rum he brought now sat. He opened the bottle and poured himself a small amount into a cup before filling the rest up with coke. He was more of a social drinker, and he didn't think a shot would last very long... and beer, well... it wasn't something he enjoyed much. He giggled at himself.

Hansel walked upstairs, stepped in the bathroom and locked the door. He walked over to the mirror and stared at his reflection. He wasn't entirely sure if that went well or not. He was always the same when meeting new ponies... and considering how bad it's been in some past occasions... this was actually fairly good. "I'm sure it'll get easier later... it usually does. Just... maybe not too much alcohol this time round... I get weird when I have too much to drink... and by 'too much', I mean two shots." He thought, and smacked his face against the counter. "Maybe I'll just have one later if everyone else starts drinking..." "Nah, you should totally have ten." "No, no I should not." "Pfft, you're no fun anymore..." "What's that supposed to mean?" "You've been stuck in your home for over a month throwing tantrums like a little filly over your doodles, and your asking what I mean?" "Hey, those weren't doodles! You know how importa..." "Yeah yeah... Look at yourself in the mirror. When was the last time you saw Celestia's sun? Look at how pale you are." "That's... that's just the colour of my coat... I've always been like this..." "Whatever..." ... "Why am i talking to myself?" "I don't... know."

searching Minath's House Party!
Hansel replied to Minath Khalsi's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
Twice now, I have accidentally closed the window after typing everything out. *flips table over* -
Hansel stared at Minath as she spoke, feeling a bit guilty for forcing her to bring up something she clearly didn't want to talk about. "Oh... I'm so sorry... I... didn't mean to bring up something like that..." He said "But, Chief Guard? That's very impressive. It sounds like a lot of work and responsibility." Frankly, Hansel was surprised that someone with such a high position at the palace would throw a house party. Though, he couldn't quite work out why she had an issue with Princess Cadence. He'd never met her himself, but couldn't imagine her to be an unpleasant pony. He noticed that Minath was eyeing the clock and wandered if she had something else to do. "Um... Fun? Well, I guess when I'm on my own I..." Hansel thought about what he did in his spare time when he wasn't with anypony else. Drawing, painting, music... and he'd usually read before he went to sleep." "Well, er, anything, I suppose. When I'm with other ponies, I'm not usually the one that decides on what we're doing, but I don't mind, I'm quite open minded and I like the company." He saw her eyeing the clock again, and decided he should probably leave her for a now. "Um, mind if I use your restroom?" He smiled.
-
You know what? I might just do that! *turns and sees a massive pile of uni work* Or maybe not... ._.
-
"Palace?" He thought to himself, before making some sort of connection with her being an Alicorn. Hansel thought about her words, and realised that she must have something to do with the Guard. He wanted to ask her about it, but wasn't quite sure how to go about it. Alicorns were fairly rare, but Hansel had met a few, and once had Princess Luna as his client. He didn't involve himself with politics much, but he knew that alicorns were usually royalty... or at least all the ones he met were... but Minath seemed a little different to the royal members he had met. And... the alicorns Hansel had met seemed like nice ponies, yet she seemed to have some sort of issue with them. At the very least on a superficial level. Hansel was quite naive in this area. "Oh, I'm just an artist... of sorts. I'm a little varied" He replied. "I work mostly as a freelancer or on personal projects... I suppose that I make a fairly comfortable living, but it depends on how much work is available." "How about yourself?" He asked. "You mentioned the palace before..."

I've never played any Zelda games... or any Final Fantasy games... or WoW, or Minecraft...or Skyrim. *continues to mumble an endless list of games people always yell at him for never playing*

Hansel turned red a little as Minath laughed at him, feeling like a bit of an idiot before following her in. Hansel looked around the house as she spoke, looking in the directions Minath was referring to He was a very visual pony, and took in information better when he had something to look at. He studied each area for maybe a little too long. When he heard her address him, he quickly turned around and looked at her. "I'm Hansel. I actually live here in Canterlot, but you probably know that already seeing as you sent me the invite. Oh... thanks, by the way, for inviting me. It's good to finally be out and meet new ponies." Hansel looked around the house some more. He wasn't entirely sure what to expect before he arrived, and was happy to see a well-kept house. It reminded him of the state he left his own home in before leaving. "I should probably tidy up a bit when I get home... it looks like a war zone compared to this place." "You have a wonderful home... have you lived here long? I don't think I've ever heard of you or seen you before..."
-
Hansel stared blankly at Minath for moment, the cogs in his brain still turning as her jest was settling in. When it was done processing, he blinked a couple of times and focused his eyes on Minath. "Oh, yes, I'm Hansel.... I... got your invite." He said. "You're the... hostess... right? It's lovely to finally meet you." A moment of silence passed. Hansel still needed to readjust himself into a social mode... He had been on his own for a little over a month, and this was the first time he actually had to enunciate anything since then. "OH! I brought some rum with me. It's for everyone, of course... there's no way I could even attempt to drink this on my own." He levitated the bottle over towards Minath. "Not that I wouldn't drink anything you have... I'm sure that you have some great drinks! Um... I mean, that's if you have drinks, I wasn't expecting to have drinks. Not because you're a bad hostess... I mean, a lot of house parties don't have drinks... so, that's why I got this. If this was BYOB, then I would be doing the right thing, and if this was a party that did have drinks, then it just looks like a friendly gesture... I think. I guess it could be seen as rude, but it wasn't intended to be rude. I just Thought that..." He stopped rambling and looked at Minath. "... I'll stop talking now."
-
Hansel approached what he assumed would be the right house and lowered his headphones. His horn glowed blue as he levitated a small piece of parchment with scribbled notes telling him how to get to the party, then glanced back up at the house. "Well... I suppose this must be it..." He mumbled to himself "looks like I got here early... I can't see any sign of a fire or passed out ponies in front of the house..." He shuddered at the memory of past house parties he had attended. Hansel had always enjoyed socialising and meeting new ponies, but always felt anxious before, especially when it came to parties and clubs. Not knowing anypony else who was coming didn't help much either. "Maybe I'll just stand out here for a bit, wait and see if more ponies show up first... maybe I really am just early..." Hansel thought. He quickly brushed that thought aside, imagining how silly he would look standing outside a house with a large bottle of dark rum. He glanced down at the bottle. "I guess I'll just go in now... I just hope I'm not the first pony there..." He thought. Hansel approached the door, knocked, and waited...

searching Minath's House Party!
Hansel replied to Minath Khalsi's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
His outfit will be an open black jacket with a black shirt underneath and black jeans. He's also got a plain black choker. Aside from that, blue headphones around his neck. I do plan to drink, though not sure how much at this stage. I don't plan on going swimming, no. -

Mind if I join in? I haven't actually been in any RP's on this particular forum yet. Here's my OC: http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/hansel-r2361 Are we meant to describe our outfits here, or shall I leave that for the roleplay itself? -
Well, I first heard about the show a while before it came out and found out that Lauren Faust and Rob Renzetti were working on it, so I screamed with delight and then forgot about it for a while. I finally started watching the show when it was well into it's first season after a friend reminded me of it. I was disappointed at first but continued watching it anyway because I loved the characters and the animation. Eventually, I got into it. Then people started calling me a Brony for some reason. On a related note, walking down the pink isle looking for ponies wearing all black, platform boots and a buck ton of black eye liner is glorious and I recommend it to everyone.

That was beautiful.

Yeah... i don't think I want to attempt this.
-
... I knew that. You could probably replicate the little melody at 00:15 by playing about with SimSynth... I'm not entirely sure about WOOWOOWOOOOO WO WO WOOOWOOO thing, though. It's something I've ever really attempted.

If you're not using a keyboard and making the synth directly in FL, drag a random sound from the side into the the pattern table, right click, and open up the piano roll to start composing. Alternatively, right click on said sound and go to the "replace" drop down menu, then select one of the plug-ins. You can play about with the sound a lot there whilst still composing your melody in the piano roll, and if it still isn't enough, link it in to a channel in the mixer and play about with it even more. Hope that made sense. EDIT: Oh, and about the vocals. I don't usually play about with my vocals a lot. If I do, I record the vocals in Audacity, import it into a new pattern in FL, link it to a channel in the mixer, and use the vocorder. Recording directly into FL is real pain.
