Dem eyes man... they're so... blue... Are you a fremen? On a side note, this is me pretending to be a museum piece. As you can see, I blended in perfectly to the... um... Mesopotamian exhibition... I'm a village guy... Yeeeaaah...

7.5/10 I really liked the untz untz, but I couldn't really get into the vocals. ._. But if we're in the area of untz untz...

But... I wasn't being a grammar Nazi, I was simply clarifying the definition of a word. -_- My grammar isn't good enough for that, anyway. However, if you'd like, I could be a punctuation Nazi and dramatically fix everything you're writing.

Accent: Noun A distinctive mode of pronunciation of a language, esp. one associated with a particular nation, locality, or social class. Even if the way someone talks is mono-toned or boring (and boring is entirely subjective, by the way), it's still a mode of pronunciation and therefor, an accent. Even Microsoft Sam has an accent.

Actually, a Scottish accent would also be a British accent, since Scotland is in Britain. The options are a bit... vague, though. As I already said, some of them are fairly specific, whilst others are a bit more ambiguous. And I'm still not sure how anyone can have no accent...

Is your favorite pony a sign of your personal/political beliefs?
Hansel replied to GuillermoGage's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I personally can't really see Fluttershy as a Muslim. Like most other Abrahamic religions, Islam is an assertive religion with strict rules and guide lines, which doesn't fit too well with Fluttershy's personality. I honestly can't see any of the ponies fitting into any real world religions... seems kind of absurd to me, but if I had to choose, I'd say Fluttershy would go for something similar to one of my friends, a mixture of a few northern European Pagan religions, primarily Wicca. It's pretty free spirited and shares an affinity with nature and animals, without a great deal of pressure that most organised religions tend to have. It's also a pretty warm and kind philosophy and fits her element rather nicely. -
I haven't traveled much in the last 3 years or so, but I used to travel quite a lot, especially when I was younger. I now live in England (London) and have visited several different parts, but I've also been to Wales. Outside of the UK, I've been to the US (Florida), Italy twice (Tuscany and Sardinia), Portugal (Madeira (One of the most beautiful natural environments I've ever been too)), Israel multiple times, Belgium three times, Spain, France (Well... to Disneyland ) and... I'm pretty sure I've been to other places, but I can't think of them at the moment. Ironically, I'm actually a very Homey person. I would really love to go to Norway to see the Northern Lights though. I also want to visit Germany for all their awesome Alternative music festivals and Tokyo in Japan.

What's so great about growing up? Is it inevitable?
Hansel replied to wartorious's topic in General Discussion
Well, I'm 20 and in my final year at uni. About 5/6 months from now, I'll have to go out and attempt to make a start on my career. (unless I decide that I want to do a Masters). In all honesty, this thought terrifies me. Whilst I do spend more time on my studies then I do going out with friends, I still keep a certain quote close to my heart. I'm sure that most of you guys have read it before as it seems to get used quite a lot by Bronies, but I'll post it anyway. When I found this quote a few years ago, it pretty much summed up exactly how I feel. Why should my age stop me from enjoying certain things just because the label says "for ages 5-10"? Who decided that once you reach a certain age, you have to put these things away even if you still love them? The answer is simple; no one. No one of importance, anyway. The only thing which really dictates what you should and shouldn't enjoy are social norms, most of which are arbitrary and have no real purpose. So, yes, I'll continue to watch cartoons, read fairy tails, cover my walls in My Little Pony and Adventure Time posters and collect toy figures. I'll do this along side my studies and my "mature" interests. And when I start my career, I'll probably continue to do so. -_-- 85 replies

Something That You Can't Go To Sleep With/Without?
Hansel replied to Strawberry Tart's topic in General Discussion
I haven't named mine, I don't really feel the need to, I bought it when I was 18 and it's been on my bed since. Plus, it has a little ":3" face, which makes me happy. Also, I kind have to kind of agree on the sleeping with people thing, Only I've never done with a pillow wall before. It usually just involves cuddles (again, not sexual). Only really happens if someone askes though, seeing as a lot of guys/girls don't like it much and I feel awkward being the one to ask. :I -
Something That You Can't Go To Sleep With/Without?
Hansel replied to Strawberry Tart's topic in General Discussion
I generally have a lot of trouble getting to sleep, but I find that reading before helps me a lot. It still takes me at least a couple of hours to fall asleep once I've put the book down, but it's a lot better then otherwise. I think It helps me take my mind off deadlines and work. As much as I love sleeping, I sometimes wish didn't have too. I also have a bat bunny plushie, but that's another story. ._. -
If I'm honest, I don't really refer to myself as a Brony either (At least not in a serious way). I've always had a bit of an issue with labels for various reasons. I also don't really feel the need to label myself based on a show I like. Regardless of how much I like it. And how much merch I have. And how many hours a day I spend on pony-related things.

How does one not have an accent? I'm pretty sure everyone has an accent one way or another. Also, the specificness of each accent varies quite a bit. Either way, I voted British.

Is your favorite pony a sign of your personal/political beliefs?
Hansel replied to GuillermoGage's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I honestly can't decide on who my favorite pony is. If we're narrowing it down to the main six and I was forced to choose, then I'd probably say Fluttershy, but I don't think I'm much like her. The only thing I really have in common with her is that I get nervous or anxious about social situations (even though I do enjoy the company of others). I also tend to avoid issues that involve other people, as opposed to confront them. I'd say my second favorite is probably Twilight, and I think I can relate to her the most out of the main six. I can be a bit of a hermit and I spend a lot of my time on my studies. (The first episode where she rejects the party invitation? I feel you bro) I'm also a pretty big skeptic and value scientific evidence. (Ironically, I'm also a bit a of Pinkie Pie when it comes to food, laughter and when I feel more comfortable in social situations. ) My favorite princess is Luna, but I don't think I'm serious enough to be much like her. And as much as I love the night, I usually find it hard to stay up past 3am. My favorite background ponies are Vinyl Scratch, Octavia and Colgate, but it's a little harder to pinpoint similarities as very little of their personalities come from the show itself. I wub Electronic music and I love Classical as well. Colgate is just adorbz. -
I... what? I... I don't quite know how respond to this. Not because it's asking me if I would eat a pony, but just because of how the question is put. I mean, eating Fluttershy would be traumatic enough, but the fact that it's specifically a burger... the fact that you even asked who i would eat... the choice of words... What?!

Myself? Not particularly, no. They're freaking adorable though. I have absolutely no issue with people who do though, and I can sort of understand why, particularly with some of the fan art. A lot of people seem to take issue with it because they think it's zoophilia. If you do take issue with zoophilia, I think it's important to remember that cloppers aren't necessarily zoophiles. The designs of the ponies from FiM barely resemble real-life equines, and have a great deal of similarities to humans. Xenophilia? Perhaps, but not zoophilia. To be honest, I don't think it's all that different from being attracted towards mythical creatures from films and video games,

The blood of the innocent. Nah, I don't usually drink anything in the mornings. Other times, I just drink water (unless I'm eating out) because I'm hardcore like that.

I have a North London accent. I could be wrong, but I think that's the one most people associate with a typical "British" accent, At least it's the one people seem to try and put on the most when pretending to be British, only less... stereotypical? Am I the only person who finds a soft Brummy accent rather delightful? xD I have a bunch of Brummy friends, a couple of which have a soft accent, and It's amazing when they complain about stuff.

I'm a little picky about punk, but there's a few Horror Punk and Post Punk bands I like. I also like a bit of Offspring, Flogging Molly, The Jam, Sum 41, and The Who (although The Who more Protopunk, but whatever. )

What languages do you know or want to learn?
Hansel replied to Mint Petal's topic in General Discussion
, , and of course, I haven't really managed to find a great deal of music I like outside of Metal, unfortunately. and thank you, I'll definitely bear it mind. (I actually don't use any instant messengers like MSN or SKype anymore... I'm not sure why, but I don't even have them installed anymore. ._.) I actually prefer original Bamba to Red Bamba, but they sell it here anyway. Red Bamba is pretty awesome though, but my mum always brings it back with her anyway.
