I don't think anything would really happen considering that Tirek is now a bunch of blasted bits and a horn. Celestia has made it clear she doesn't mind if enemies of Equestria are 'destroyed' if the threat big enough.

No, when there is an enemy that poses a very dangerous threat if they are able to harm all inhabitants of Equestria, then it is acceptable. As long as the threat is disposed of, there shouldn't be a consequence for Twilight if she killed Tirek.

I doubt there would've been. I mean, when worse comes to worse, Twilight's main concern will be the ponies of Equestria over that of Tirek.

 

On Sombra, I'm not entirely convinced he's technically dead, even considering what was said in that conference, especial judging by the tone of her comment, but meh.

Why would Twilight get stripped of her title?  She KILLED the enemy who tried to take over Equestria! Celestia and Luna understand the need to kill him for good.

As mentioned earlier. Threats have to be responded to accordingly. Tirek was a very big threat to Equestria with the ability to literally absorb magic. So, I think it would have been acceptable to kill him. After all, they did kill King Sombra.

Although they "killed" Sombra, Tirek was a much greater threat. To maybe not just Equestria, but the entire world of MLP.

 

Defeat or death, I think the result would have been the same, in the end.

Most likely nothing,sadly she would have been justified. Tho i believe she wouldn't kill Tirek,brawl him sure,banish,but kill? Idk. Atleast not unless it was a last resort.

Nobody would have batted an eye or questioned the "humanity" of it, I don't think. The only thing I wonder is if killing him would have destroyed all of what he absorbed, which would have still left Equestria in a form of ruin.

Well he did just topple their entire kingdom, nearly caused the destruction of their day and night cycle, and was planing to enslave their entire race. I personally don't think the outcome would have changed at all if they had blasted him after draining all his stolen magic.
