I know we have our RPs, art sections and stuff. I was thinking of new things that forum members can do while visiting this community.

I went on a few forums that had an Arcade section where members could play games. So I thought that maybe we should have forum section similar to said feature. I think it would be a very fun idea to have a section especially for fan-made quizzes, pony related or not.

Quizzes are a very fun way to pass time! I only hope that maybe this is considered.

Thanks!

This is a very interesting idea. Just to be clear, are you suggesting an Arcade section that would include many different things, or are you suggesting a section solely for quizzes?

A subforum solely for quizzes. :3 I think it's a really fun idea to go through with! I would've like to go with the Arcade idea, but I feared that we may have something similar. ^^'

In before Chaotic Discord lies down a big can of "nope" on this. There certainly are a lot of quizzes out there both pony related and not but I don't think there are so many of them and topics related to them that it necessarily warrants its own subforum. A central thread possibly pinned if the mod's see that as necessary might be a good idea though, users can post whatever said quizzes they want in there so long as they are in accordance with rules and so forth.

I don't see why not though. I mean, at least give it a whirl before slamming it into the soil. D:

I simply think that this idea is an additional pass time for forum members, for fun and games. Not everything must revolve around ponies and stuff about the fandom/forum. :) Sounds fun, being able to make your own quizzes and share them with the forum! :D

Oh, it is make your own quizzes? Sorry I misunderstood what you meant. I thought you meant a subforum to post quizzes, oh okay. I suppose that idea might warrant a subforum if it is utilized.

It's not necessary a bad idea, but is it a popular idea? That's the real issue here, and it's the reason why we're highly conservative about adding new sections. If the subforum isn't being used, then it's just cluttering up the site.

I'm interested, but until there's evidence that enough people want this section, I'd be hesitant to support its creation. For what it's worth, I've put up a poll to get some more input.

Thank you, Aquila! For taking some consideration into this. I would've made a separate thread about this to get people's attention, but I didn't want to feel like I was pushing this or anything. >.<

I think members would have fun making quizzes and sharing them about the forums. :3

My 'nope is reserved for arcade games :P We're a forum, a place for discussion, if members want to organize gaming get togethers they should do so, and have much fun with it. We don't, however, need to introduce a built-in competitive atmosphere with games and scores and things.

As for quizzes, like interviews with other members, sounds great. Ways of getting the community to interact is always great. But seeing as I can't think of a single 'quiz' topic being posted anywhere in quit some time, I doubt we need an entire section for it, either. There needs to be some level of 'need' for a subforum, because, creating one and saying, 'this is going to be a thing now, plz populate it' doesn't always work out for the long-haul, as activity is often limited to a week or two, and once things wear off, suddenly the section becomes increasingly deserted. Even more so, it's an incredibly bad habit to get into, because it promotes the creation of subforums as a go-to response for new ideas, which easily becomes confusing and crowded.

Honestly, people seem to think there's, 'make a subforum for it, or it can't happen' x) If one wants to see a section created for something, they should try posting topics of the nature they want to see put in their own section. If the topic idea takes off, just like clubs, ask me's, etc all did, then sure, it could become a subforum some day. Even if a section doesn't get made, your idea still makes an impact to the community at large, which is far more important than some code displaying it in a certain way.

True, true. :3

Thanks for the intake! I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
