Unfamiliar with this... care to explain?

Shovel Knight is a 2D platformer that has a mega man feel to it. Your main weapon is a shovel and your quest is to find secrets and gain treasure to spend on upgrades. More information here.

I heard it's a great game by a few users. So, it must be a good game. I think it's on sale too on Steam.

Yay! :D I've only played a bit, but it's quite fun! :3 The music and art direction are awesome, and the gameplay is great too. Can't wait to get deeper into it...

Yay! I don't own it but I was watching a 45 minute first look at it. It looks awesome! By the title I simply expected it to be some boring and weird treasure hunting thing. There is treasure involved, but I was completely wrong in everything else. It's an action packed epic adventure game. xD Reminds me of MegaMan actually,

  • 2 weeks later...

I recently bought shovel knight and I must say it is the best platformer I have played. The controls are solid and everything else is so stylized it's beautiful.

Everyday I'm Shovelin'!

It's too retro. You can't expect to give us a throwback to the pixel sidescrolling age just because there's an interest in 2D games. It doesn't seem that bad, but certainly nothing I would keep playing. If they made it an arcade game, that would be of more interest, if arcades were still a thing. Not something I would buy for 15 dollars. I'd spend it on something like The Forest, or if you haven't seen it yet, Terraria or Starbound. All available on Steam, the money-sucking endless hole of sales and discounts.

In other words, it's okay, but money could be spent better elsewhere.

Enter the Forest...
