It's annoying when there's only one HD video for a song, and that video is a lyrics video. :/ But at least I get better audio.

Anyway, FellSilent MAY be getting back, together. Not sure about it, though. If anything, at least they made some good music while they were still a band.

Alright so I listened to this again for the first time in quite a while:

Love this movie. I need to hear more metal like this, especially the part the Devil plays. Someone help me find something like it!

So as I was listening to songs from earlier in the thread I come across the Dream Theater song and this image:

I'd say that Venom would be a good choice. Maybe even some slower Megadeth (CTE, Youthanasia). But I'm not that good for recommendations on stuff like that, as it's not really "my type" of metal.. :/

I'm trying out Anthrax. Wee.

Definitely enjoying it but not quite what I'm looking for. The one from Tenacious D had more of an "epic battle" tone going with it and that's more what I'm looking for. That Venom album seems to be lacking in that department.

How about Manowar? Or just power metal in general. It has more melodic vocals and all, but it definitely would have that epic battle thing you're looking for.

I actually already know of Manowar and listen to their music quite a bit. I was hoping for more than that.

Really should look into more Power Metal. If the rest of it is anything like how Manowar portrays it I'd definitely love it.

I'm not very well versed in band variety so I don't know any names, the best I can do is type in "power metal" into Youtube and hope I get actual power metal songs. lol

lol I found this when I typed in Power Metal

I definitely approve. I like the original song too so this is a nice cover for me. Katy's voice goes surprisingly well with this type of music, even though I'm sure all they did was record the vocals on top of the music they played for the song rather than totally new vocals. Raronoopa approves.

Also found this, much closer to what I was looking for. Thanks Djenty for suggesting looking up Power Metal. xD

Listen to anything up until and including Persistence of Time. After than, Anthrax went a bit meh.

Alestorm, Blind Guardian, Three Inches of Blood, Iced Earth, Symphony X, Sonata Arctica, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Kamelot, shit, even Dragonforce if you want a little guilty pleasure. Take your pic from those bands.

Ah, I didn't know TIoB and Sonata Arctica were Power Metal. Explains why I love them. LOL

I have a tendency to not like Dragonforce too often. Most of their music sounds almost exactly the same so I can only take it in bits and pieces but when I feel like listening to them there's little that compares. :P

3IOB, if you look at the lyrics, is New Age Power Metal at its finest, its fantastic! Sonata Arctica is power metal too, but I know little of them. Just that their latest album don't hold up to their previous ones.

Hence the term guilty pleasure. :P Even though they all sound the same, I'd like to think that everyone has one unique song they like from them. But coming from a Thrash addict, that's probably not true.

Anyway, check these two out.

Two extreme doses of EPIC, just for you... and for me... and for anyone else that actually listens.

Those are amazing! Can you recommend me some similar bands? Anyway, I just found this now, if anyone actually wants to listen to it. It's pretty thrashy and fast.

I'd highly recommend Iced Earth and Three Inches of Blood, but Alestorm is a top contender too because of their unique take to Folk Power Metal - PIRATES!! :D

And I know Korpiklaani isn't Power metal, but after 2003(?) they've started incorporating faster tempos and a thrashy influence, so I'd go with them as well.

There's a few more that Skullet didn't mention but they're a bit more out there. Avantasia, Elvenking, Firewind, Kamelot, Pathfinder, Revolution Renaissance, Stormwarrior, and Demons & Wizards. Dark Moor is the epitome of epic music, although they're a bit more orchestral now.

Rhapsody of Fire is another good choice.

Brushing your hair is for people who care and someone who cares is not I, I'll jump off a bridge and then fill up your fridge,
and best pony is Fluttershy.

Her face is still blushing and she is still eating the pasta.

-Tesseract-

Ah Tesseract, one of the rare djent (I think) bands I dislike.

I really don't see much interesting stuff in them.

Now Fellsilent, that's a quality band.

What is there to dislike about (once again) TesseracT? My issue with Fellsilent lies in the pretty meh (IMO) vocals and lyricism. I hate vocals with a noticeable whine in them.

I'm still a pretty big fan of Modern Day Babylon. I like the melodic style they bring to the table.

Pretty nice sounding. Reminds me of how atmospheric Uneven Structure and TesseracT (@) can be. I hope that tag works.

I just don't really think their music is as "intricate" as some other bands. And some their songs just remind me of Linkin Park. Though if I do remember correctly, isn't their a former member of Fellsilent in TesseracT?

Soundcloud is a great resource for some new Progressive/Djent/Anything you wanna call it Metal.

Misery Signals early stuff. Had a lot more speed, but still managed to put the melodic in there. This is still one of my favorites by them, no matter how much their style changes.

1:30-2:59 hold particular meaning tonight. One of those moods. You'll know when you hear it.
