Because it seems as if they don't sound that bad at all

Which means that I have yet again another band to add

On my majorly huge list of bands that I discovered during this month

Honestly guys I've already got at least 15 albums on my wish list by now

I don't need to add on another album

Why did the Faceless make Autotheism? Sure, it can be kind of cool to listen to, but there is literally nothing that they have done to improve themselves, except add some shitty clean vocalist. I seriously hope their next release is something along the lines of Akeldama or Planetary Duality.

So Metallica are pretty awesome but could anyone else agree with me on just how beautiful this song actually is? This was one of the worst albums ever by them but that's why it must be considered "Lou Reed feat. Metallica" but this song will always have a small spot in my heart...the rest of it was pure garbage ¬_¬

Also, I don't care what anyone says, when Cristian Alvestam left Scar Symmetry to be full time with Solution. 45, I was a bit sad.  They're both still really good.  His vocals, clean and growl, is probably one of my favorites.

But at least from what I'm told Scar Symmetry are still a band

I've heard of Solution 45, but I haven't really listened to any of their stuff

Are they not as good or better than Scar Symmetry

I know and understand the whole "listen for yourself and you'll find out" thing

But I'd like to know what other's think before I click on a Solution 45 song

Well, in my opinion, 45 is very reminiscent of early SS (both bands are melodic death and have Alvestam at the helm), which is why I was so quick to grow attached to them.  SS, from '09 onwards, are not bad at all, and they still manage to crank out some amazing songs.   But they're work with Alvestam in their first 3 albums just seemed more .... intense, and genuine.  All of which I hear now in 45

Okay so now from what I can guess in your post

So we're talking about Alvestam now? SWEEEEET

 

Man, I love Solution .45's For Aeon's Past. Really awesome, like Christian's work in Scar Symmetry, but heavier on the synthesizers, and a ton more melodic. I love Lethean Tears, written completely by Alvestam. So awesome.

 

And about Scar Symmetry, I can definitely understand the point about the decline in quality. I found it a bit more tolerable at first, but even though TUE improved on some stuff, it still seems pretty overproduced, one of the new problems. Can't compare to the first three albums.

 

Anyone checked out Self 2.0 from his solo career? It's not metal, but it's pretty amazing if you stalk Chris Alvestam like myself.

Well the only albums that I'm excited for in the year of 2013 is the newest Depeche Mode and Daft Punk albums...but that's off topic

I'll go look at a list of albums to be released in 2013

-Red are releasing a new album...if that's your sort of thing

-Killswitch Engage are releasing a new album

-Pig Destroyer released their newest one not too long ago

-Cult Of Luna released their new album not too long ago as well

-Alice In Chains are releasing a new album as well

-A7X are making a new album as well

-Dream Theater are gonna release theirs as well, hopefully it will be better than A Dramatic Turn Of Events

-Apparently Suicidal Tendencies are gonna release a new album as well

-Tool will release a new album also

 

And those are the best ones that I could find so far

No I didn't hate it, but I just felt that it wasn't as good as their previous albums

Honestly that album coming from the same guys that did the 20 minute masterpiece Octavarium

It seems as if to me they've watered down a bit, and a lot of the songs just sounded so meh to me

Oceano, man.  That's some intense deathcore shit, lol.  They catch alot of crap because of the man's br00tal vocals, but they're good for when you're in that mood.  Oceano definitely isn't for everyone, I can tell you that:

Heh, I have "My Damnation" by Chelsea Grin too, if that counts. Oh well.

 

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend "Awaken the Dreamers" by All Shall Perish. Definitely an album of melodic deathcore that shows that not every deathcore band has to adhere to the stereotypes that ruin the genre. Has three instrumentals, a clean vocal interlude song, all that stuff. This was back when they had Chris Storey with them. Now they have some new guitarist and they're back to being just another generic deathcore band. Still a great deathcore album, but you've probably already heard of it.

 

Also, people really don't like Whitechapel, but "A New Era of Corrpution" feels more melodic (and thus, better) than other albums. Don't really listen to too much deathcore, so I can't give much recommendations. Sorry.

 

In modern death metal though, there's Miseration - Tragedy Has Spoken. Chris Alvestam, so... yeah.
