I believe this is what's considered to be G2? If so, it's always fascinated me, although I doubt I'll ever get around to watching any of it (or anything pre-G4, honestly.) You just hear so little about it, as if it went straight from G1 to G3. I guess that's why it always kind of interested me, because you got people giving off mixed reactions on G1 and just straight up hating G3.

 

Never really hear anything about G2 

 

And if this isn't G2, well, I'm just a dumbass

There are actually to varying opinions on G2...

1.  As Classic Gamer mentioned, G2 is usually considered a toy only generation and MY Little Pony Tales is typically considered part of G1 because it's toys shared the same mold.

2.  A second, less popular opinion is that My Little Pony Tales  is G2... This is my opinion, as well as that of the source of your prior information, and comes from separating the Gens by the TV Shows and not by the toys themselves.

I never watched G2, I sure did love G1 though.

 

The ponies in G2 are cute looking anyways, I think it's just G3 that receives all the flak.

I've heard a fair amount of flack for My Little Pony Tales as well... Even though I rather enjoyed the show.  It ditched the fantasy setting of My Little Pony and Friends for a setting that was basically our world with ponies instead of humans.  And was marketed specifically at young girls as opposed to not being targeted at one specific gender or another...

 

That said, again I liked this show...

My favorite would probably be Clover; All of the luck, none of the coordination!

I don't have any toys from this show but now that I know they exist I'll dream about finding some lol

Can't say as I've thought about any ships from this show other than the obvious...

But I would've loved to have seen that one develop had the series been given more than one season.

My Litttle Pony Tales is also the first appearance of both Alicorns and Apple Bucking! Though not officially named as such yet...

I liked Tales because it tried to be more Teenage-like, in both moral and character relationship.

I give props to this show for throwing out all the fantasy from G1, that would have ruined the series.
