Will Bronies ever be FULLY accepted?

Short answer for you all: No.

Explanation? To fully accept bronies would require others to accept too many things they cannot / will not accept. It's not an easy transition right there.

It most likely won't. Not until the media stop depicting the "bronies" as some kind of perverts...........

I fully agree with boiteporte. It is unfortunate that people will not fully accept bronies, b/c of the negative views towards it. In addition, they feel its "inferior" to them and would do anything to bring it down.

Nothing in this world is, or ever will be, FULLY accepted. There's always going to be people who disagree with something or dislike it.

As far as widely accepted goes, though, still probably no. The fandom is a few years old, and there's still plenty of hate to go around. For example, mere mention of the show (or hinting at the fact that you may possibly like it) incites a lot of negativity and accusations of neckbeardery (though some well deserved) on places like Reddit, from what I've seen. Give it a few more years (assuming the show lasts that long) and we'll see. It may gradually become more accepted, but probably not anytime soon.

Nope.avi
1. For every fandom, artist, musician etc there are haters
2. Millions of people are homophobes and will bust out that ponies are for homosexuals
3. Internet...no need to explain
4. Bronies do in fact make embarrassing stuff which affects the fandom

I could go on thinking deeper about this for the rest of the page, but everything sometimes is not taking seriously because, again, haters. And I don't mind being not accepted why should you?

No, there are 7 billion people in the world and that number is growing. There's always gonna be at least one person that has a problem with bronies.

That's not to say society won't progress. The world is slowly becoming more tolerant in general.

I think this kind of depends on what you mean by "fully accepted". Because if you mean that everyone on earth will accept bronies, then no. As I'm sure there is still some loser working for Rolling Stone magazine that still agrees with the old articles from back in the day they printed saying Led Zeppelin sucks ( And if you don't know what Led Zep is... go to youtube now and look them up, for the sake of your soul!)

Personally, I've been rather lucky I suppose; as I've never had much trouble about being a brony IRL. And if you've ever taken a glance at my profile page, that probably surprises you, as by it you can tell I hang around a rather "conservative" crowd. I've gotten the typical "Huh?", reaction before but not in a negative way. But I'm pretty sure 99% of us here did the same thing when we first heard about Bronies, MLP, and the menu at a new restaurant in town, so I don't count that as a negative anyway.

I know others have had really bad experiences about this type of thing, and at the beginning the news people were apparently having a slow news week and needed a punching bag for bit; although it would seem that that is being reversed due to kid Bronies being the target of bullying. Although you can find similiar things for all kinds of stuff; like the way Punk and Metal fans treated each other back in the late 70s ( it's like the Brony/ Anti-Brony flame wars... only instead with of flame wars there were drunken brawls ).

So in conclusion you find close-minded people among all groups of people about all kinds of things, just about everywhere; but I think Bronies are becoming like most other fandoms that initially were met with hostility, in that people will start either to view us as a curiosity or just won't care much, and will stick our booths next to the anime booths at things like comicon.

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

It all depends on the next few generations of MLP after FiM ends. If they're still good the fandom will live on as the Transformers fandom has for the past 30 years and how the Star Trek and Doctor Who fandom has lived on for 40-50 years. Eventually Bronies will cease to become "strange" and will just be another fandom. Of course we'll be put in that category society deems "geeky" (Comic Book Fans, Anime Fans, Western Animation Fans, Gamers, Sci-Fi fans) but in "geekdom" we'll eventually be accepted as another fandom.

Nope, it will never be fully accepted, and if it would,  i'm pretty sure the fandom would be over, why do you think that a lot of veterans are leaving the fandom? because it isn't "special" anymore, the fandom may not be fully accepted, but at least now we're known, and a lot of people respect us, that feeling of being part of something different is what made this fandom popular, not exactly the series in itself. The whole fight to be accepted is what keeps this (and almost every) fandom alive.

Accepted? Don't think so, then again, neither will tons of other fandom or subcultures, I just wonder how long this fandom will last, I'm hoping it won't end once the show's cancelled.

I'm not talking about the show, i'm talking about the fandom, both are different things

You're talking about why people are in the fandom (because they want to be different and special)

Again, I'm just here, in the fandom, because I like the show a lot

It depends on the future generations of the show. Look at Transformers for example, it's gone through many incarnations (G1, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Unicron Trilogy, Animated, Prime, The Movies, that new show coming out soon) and its fandom has been alive and well for 30 years! If the Future Generations retain the Quality or are improvements over FiM the fandom will live on. The difference is that the fandom will have evolved from a show-specific fandom into a full-blown franchise fandom much like the Transformers fandom. Even the fandoms of Batman and Spider-Man are examples of franchise fandoms. (Take it from a Spider-Man fan, it's not just the main comic that I like.)

If what you're saying is true I hope the show will retain it's current art style, that's one of my favorite aspects of the show.
