Um, is this RP still available for entry? I think It would be fun to join but I don't know how far in everyone is. 

At the moment, the trial is just about to begin, which doesn't seem to lend itself well to introducing more characters. It's also quite far in, so you'd have a lot to catch up on. If you really want to join and you're happy to catch up on everything, I could see your character barging into the courtroom as a witness with new information or evidence, but outside that I can't think of any good opportunities. But if you have another idea for how your character can come in, I'd be happy to hear it.

 

One more thing: Before you join, I need to know which OC you want to use, so could you link me to their character profile?

Are we all ready to resume the RP? A quick recap so we're on the same page: We want to skip ahead briefly to once everyone has entered the courtroom (so the first thing that will happen when we resume is Sunshine Judger announcing the start of the trial). This is just for convenience, so we don't have to check who still has to enter the courtroom and pester people to make sure that happens. Then, once the defense and prosecution are ready, the detectives, Shadowhide and Archaen, will be the first and second witnesses. Beyond that, what happens depends on how the trial ends up going!

I think I will be using Ember Fetch. Since she is from  Ponyville and the crime/case is in Dodge City, I'll just say she travelled to the Dodge Junction to deliver a package for somepony. Does that work as a backstory for you?

At this point, the prosecutors should be giving the opening statement, so we're waiting on either VIncent or Bluemoon to say something. Unless I've missed something?

Yep, that works. It doesn't really matter to me where the pony normally lives, things like this can always be easily explained by the pony just traveling to wherever the RP is set.

I think the best way to handle this, is either wait for someone to post here saying they've given you a good opportunity to come in, or if you think you've found a good time to come in yourself, post here saying you think you should come in now and see what we say. It'll be whichever happens first.

Things are quickly coming to a standstill again. I didn't get any response from those with prosecutor characters, so I'll mention them one more time to hopefully get their attention: @@Jolt-Thunderbolt, @@TheLineTrotter,

 

If we want to keep this RP going, I think we need to quickly address this problem in case neither of them will come back to use their characters. The RP was dead for a while, so it's understandable not every one of us will be willing to come back to it. At the moment, I've got the following two ideas to keep things going:

 

1: Introduce new character(s) for prosecutors. We'll come up with something that happened to the current prosecutors that made them no longer able to take the case, and the new character(s) will be the replacement prosecutor(s).

 

2: For this RP, someone else can take over Lee Bluemoon and Vincent StormWalker, so those two characters will still be doing their role as intended, just with someone else using them.

 

So, just in case neither member will come back and use their prosecutor characters, do you want to try either of the above ideas? Or do you have another idea to suggest?

I didn't notice that. In that case, we'll definitely need to find something to do with Vincent in this RP, whether it's getting someone else to control him for now or removing him from the RP entirely.

This revival attempt unfortunately hasn't seemed to work. We got one post, than quickly stopped because both of our prosecutor characters aren't available anymore. It seems like there's not much hope for this RP anymore.

 

Some of us have completely disappeared during this RP, but others have stuck by it and still seem really interested in keeping it going. If we really want to continue this, I think our best option is to try starting anew. We'll declare this RP dead, then create a planning thread for a new RP in the same style as this one. We can use it to get other members to join our new RP, probably in much the same way we began this RP. By restarting, those of us who still want to continue an Ace Attorney RP can do so, and those who have left can be replaced with new members.

 

This might be a good thing in a way. We can learn from the problems that arose during this RP and hopefully prevent them from happening in the next one. And the biggest issue seemed to be that everyone became too busy, which shouldn't be as much of an issue now that it's holiday season.

 

So, is anyone up for this?
