Ruins in one way, but makes the game so much better in another ;p.
I was repeating a joke stemmed out of sheep saying that mods "ruin games", I know that mods make a game better  :P

Yeah, It's my first time actually buying a humble bundle, I put 4 dollars in because I figured why not since it seemed worth it enough for the games, and I was quite happy to see Sonic generations get added in even though I was already happy to get so many games for so cheap. ;p

Yeah, I was thinking I'd have to put more into it to get further games so I'm happy you're donation is dynamic and entitles to future games added as long it the average stays under your donation(and let's you just add to it if it goes up)

Generations is a $30 game on Steam so getting it in a $4 bundle makes me REALLY happy.

So, I guess Dell is coming out with a 5K screen but it takes ludacris specs to run and costs $2500.

I think it actually says that if you pay above the average of whatever then you're garenteed all the games that come out in that bundle for the particular category regardless of where the average is, but I could be wrong, I think that's how it works though.

Regardless i'm happy, because I actually kinda wanted to try out Sonic Generations, and considering it's like 30 dollars, that's a pretty good deal even just by itself, even more so with like 7-8 other games.

I still have Skyrim and New Vegas as my most played games on Steam, and still I find myself going back to them from time to time with a new batch of mods. :P

Used to have Oblivion too, but I ended up modding that so much I think that it now refuses to play nice..

5K Dang.

Exactly what kind of Ludacris specs are we talking?

and $2500 is more than my entire computer cost me ;p. By like 4 times or something almost.

I got like 60 hours into Oblivion on the 360 before all the balancing and level scaling issues finally made it unplayable(even lowly skeletons were like super badasses that took 20 minutes of dodging and slashing to kill)

They needed Quadros in SLI just to boot it up and play a 5K video. It also used two video ports.

I don't have New Vegas actually, but I've done a lot of modding of Skyrim since i got it, honestly I've done more modding then playing it I think ;p. It's fun to just play here and there and try new mods, I agree.

I have Oblivion as well, but I haven't really played it much honestly ;p. I actually have quite a few games I've not really played in my library, or haven't played a bunch.

And yeah, I modded my Skyrim a lot at first, and it got pretty unstable because I didn't know what I was doing as much, and so I ended up cleaning out my save files to get a more stable game.

Therefore you did it right. Remember that if it's not crashing every five minutes and running at 12 frames per minute, you haven't modded it enough.

Good lord...

I still have two pretty crappy monitors tbh ;p. But my priority is currently on getting my GPU and PSU upgraded anyways(Which probably could have almost happened if I didn't just spend 50+ dollars on cyber monday ;p.)

Speaking of that, apparently the GPU I want went back up to $189, which makes me sad ;/. It's still out of stock too, but I don't have the money regardless ;p.

Let me know when I can pick up a couple of 4K on the cheap for Eyefinity since that's old junk now.

I'm happy with the 23in, 1080p/60Hz monitor I got for $120.

It'll come in handy for the 4K/60FPS Blu-Rays that were just announced and patented.

I'm not kidding, I fear the high-end tech market is going to crash from moving to fast and throwing to much shit that's ahead of it's time out there

Received my PowerColor TurboDuo R9 290 today. Some of my thoughts:

The card is incredibly well built, considering what I paid for it. Beefy heatsinks, dual 90mm fans and copper heatpipes. A backplate was also included. Pretty hefty, sagged a little bit but nothing big. 6 and 8-pin power connectors. It means business.

Installed it, booted up. Got a display immediately on both screens in the BIOS as well as the Windows logo. On my GeForce, I wouldn't get video on my DisplayPort connected monitor until I got into Windows. Nice.

Installed latest Catalyst betas. Restarted. No video on secondary display. Drivers didn't see it, Windows didn't see it. Great.

Uninstalled drivers and tried the current WHQL set. Same problem. Irritated, I look it up and AMD has been working on resolving detection issues since 14.4.

Finally figured out a solution to my problem.

It'll be here by Friday.

At least my 7850 worked with both my monitors... I don't have much more to say about this.

Yes, you are a terrible person and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm kidding. You'd probably have a better time trying PC gaming on a desktop, though :P

Honestly, I don't do the whole brand loyalty thing -- I wanted to give AMD a shot since I've heard so much about their improvements in the area of drivers.

It's shocking to me that they can't consistently get display output to more than one monitor after all these years. I shudder to think what those with Tri/Quadfire with Eyefinity have to go through, especially with new game releases.

I plugged in the old 670, put the drivers back in and here I am. At this point I'm willing to pay that premium to get something that will just work, and at this point in time, NVIDIA just works.

It's also knife logic.

"My knife's edge is FUBAR from abusing it? Get a heavier knife, no time to bother re-profiling that shit."

Then you learn why carrying a knife isn't the simple and easy thing you thought and why things you thought didn't matter in a beater like "good steel" actually matter.

So tell me, has that Dell burned through your desk yet?

I've owned TWO Dell laptops and both over-heated like a oven(one of them even crashes trying to watch a video if there's no cooling pad under it, and barely works even with it)

Honestly, I want to give AMD a shot too. I've been thinking of building a lower-end PC with either an A10-7850K or Athlon 860K and an R7 260X later on, or whatever their equivalents are whenever I finally get the money to buy the parts. Probably as a TV gaming rig, if I want something bigger than this 21.5" monitor. Like for split-screen gaming.

So... you're saying the 290 is a poor quality knife?

I've never had any issues with AMD CPU's and would probably be using one if they were competitive with Intel on the high-end.

I'm still skeptical about the quality of their graphics drivers. I wouldn't even bother with a CF/Tri/Quadfire. If I were to go multi-GPU, it'd be SLI no question.

No, I'm saying I often apply the same "it didn't work for what I needed so try another one logic" until something clicks.
