What If One Of The Mane Six...Died?

Most of you will say Rainbow Dash. That she was the one who died. But what if, instead of Dash,...Rarity died? Who would grieve the most? What would the M6 lose? You tell me.

Truthfully, it would likely present a line of demarcation for me similar to Faust leaving and Twilacorn had for others. I would still enjoy the past episodes and the fandom, but the show would lose something important to me. That would be my reaction to the death or contrived removal of any of the characters prior to the end of the show.

It would never happen. It's a kids show.  Plus they're all main characters central to the plot. Not to mention, the elements of harmony would no longer work.

 

If they did kill off a mane character (Which they wouldn't)I'd probably stop watching the show.It'd lose the innocence of what the show is.Death ina kids show would ruin the innocence.

Rarity is one of my favorite ponies so killing her off would be losing one of the best characters on the show. Obviously the mane 6 would grieve (Fluttershy probably the most because of how close they seemed to be), her parents, her sister and practically everyone else since she's an element of harmony. Nevertheless, the show would never kill off a character so directly like that, especially a main character and if they did, I'd probably start watching it a lot less.

Well hasbro would never do that, as that would mean a huge decrease in toy sales for that character. Can't sell dem rarity toys if she be ded.

 

But other than extreme confusion at one of the worst business choices of whatever year they decided to do it in, I would not really feel all that much as they are just fictional characters and therefore can never really "die" as you can just have fanon series where the character lived (and with any member of the m6, this would be an inevitability). Loss and death can be done very well in children's media, but just killing off a main character like that would spell doom for a children's show, especially one as character driven as FiM.

 

So I never see Hasbro committing franchise suicide like that.

 the rest of the six would be devastated for good reason, and I would pull a crazy rant in an email to the writers.

meh probably not, but I would be depressed... I don't see myself losing interest in the show though.

Honestly, I think killing off any of them would be bad. Whether it was Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie or Rainbow Dash. 

 

Personally, if any of them died, I would probably stop watching the show (especiallyifitwasrarityorpinkiepie  :okiedokielokie: )

Wouldn't bother watching anymore, it would be clear to me at that point that the show i use to love has turned into something im indifferent towards, i would take Pinkie, and not bother with the show anymore, wouldn't need it, because it will no longer be the mlp that i believe in.

If one of the Mane 6 was killed off, you can say goodbye to a sector of the fanbase and a portion of this franchise's merchandise sales. Other than the obvious emotional trauma it would cause to some sections of the show's audience, all six of these characters are extremely lovable and relatable, as is the dynamic they bring to the show, evidenced by the extreme amount of support they get and just how defensive some fans will get over their "best pony" or "waifu". Cutting one of them off would be commercial suicide.

As for what would happen, the fandom would throw a hissy fit(as usual), Hasbro enters in their new pony(that's the only reason to kill one of them off), and the new pony is either hated or loved. Then, things go on. That's it

I've read some fan-fics about the mane 6 dying, pretty dark and depressing. It would bring them closer in trying to forget about it and help one another, but I don't really see it happening. Just keep it to the fan-fics, for if it were to happen in the show, I would certainly change as a person and my love for the show might fall. I'm not sure if Chrysalis or Sombra died but hopefully the mane six won't end up like them or some kind of actual funeral recession. That would be horrifying, it would be as if a part of themselves died as well.

I'm one of those who watched TF in theaters opening weekend. It's a bad example because

 

a) Hasbro had to reverse the death almost immediately and fast track the two part Return of Optimus Prime which they made a special point to advertise

 

b ) Hasbro had to change the ending to GI Joe the Movie to dub over Dukes death so he lived
