@@BrilliantVenture, She draws and you make music? Sounds like a match made in heaven. Does she have a dA account?

Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you... I listened to your music. Really good stuff! I love the classic video game and techno feel. I'm pretty sure in the first one I heard Mario's one-up sound.

Sorry if I'm being slow to reply. I'm getting tired and I'm trying to figure out the best way to color this.

lol It's all good man! take your time! and nah, she's a bit shy with her artwork. I personally find it awesome though! and thanks a lot! Yeah, I actually re-made the mario coin sound in Massive (A VsT program) I grew up with 8bit actually. I was always (and still am) a big retro gamer, in fact it was a remix of Tetris that got me into making electronic music in the first place! (Actually have that record on my studio wall funny enough!)

@@BrilliantVenture, I've never been very good at games, but I love watching them. I grew up on the SNES. Mario was my first babysitter. My daughter is gonna be a gamer. I can already tell. My brother lives with us and he spends most of his time on his ps4. When she goes in to see him she snatches up his controller and makes him turn on her Flowers game. She's actually pretty good at it for being only a year old.

actually just got a Snes for christmas! Wife and I have been struggling furiously to beat Donkey Kong Country 2...such an awesome, yet difficult game! I had a couple of snes's in the past, but I had to sell them, which was real hard...especially not getting too much for them. Got a sega genesis the other day too, 10 bucks at a thrift store! Gonna try and grab a cheap copy of sonic the hedgehog when I can.

@, You speak Japanese? That's really awesome. I've always wanted to be bilingual with any language. I took three years of Spanish, one year of Japanese, and a friend tried teaching me some German in middle/high school. I've discovered I'm lucky to know English. I'm definitely not a linguist... I barely remember any words in any other language. I have friends who are bilingual, trilingual, so on. It amazes me.

@@BrilliantVenture, My ex and I had an NES/SNES "Classic Console" or whatever they're called. We went on a rampage collecting old game cartridges. I remember we found a copy of Tetris. He and his mom got in serious competitions. I tried getting into it but you know... I just lost a lot. We did manage to find the old Lion King game that I was obsessed with as a kid. I played that for hours when he was at work.

I guess when you look at it, we're all kids at heart. Maybe it's because growing up sucks, I dunno...but there's just something about that classic nostalgia that never gets old, I still play games from my childhood these days, and enjoy the simple stuff that was just plain fun growing up. Perhaps that why I love mlp so much, because it's an innocent, fun, and well written series of awesome amazingness!

@, Ah, makes sense. The year of Japanese I took taught us both at the same time. It was a lot to remember. By the end of the first semester I was to remember all the hiragana, katakana, and 160 kanji, as well as something like 1,000 words and basic grammar. It was seriously intense. It was like Japanese language boot camp. If I take another Japanese class I'm gonna find one that focuses on building vocabulary and grammar first and worry about kanji later.

@@BrilliantVenture, I never wanna grow up. I love being a parent because I have the freedom of an adult but I get to watch cartoons without my friends thinking I'm weird. MLP was a HUGE part of my childhood. I'm so excited and happy that MLP made such a big comeback. Kids used to make fun of me when I was little for being a MLP fan. Now I get to laugh at them because I'm finally COOL (not). I was born about 20 years too early. If I had been born in this generation I might have stood a chance at being "cool".

I plan on re-living my childhood through my daughter. We're totally gonna watch Sailor Moon, play SNES games, and all the old Disney classic cartoons. She will have her own childhood favorites but I look forward to seeing her enjoy mine too.

@, Yeah. I have Grease Lightning and Lucky Charms.

@, Very good! Practice makes perfect. For about a year I think I wrote everything in hiragana/katakana. I taught my friends how to write their names in katakana and everyone started writing their "Japanese names" on all of their assignments. My teachers were so annoyed. If you're in school, there's an idea. :P

~~~
Anyways, I'm pooped. My daughter is going to wake me up in about 6 hours so I'm gonna head to bed. Hopefully I'll be able to finish my practice drawing tomorrow so I can get started on everyone else. Here's a WIP. If anyone is interested, I'd like a critique. I'm not sure why I don't quite like it. It's the right technique but something's off. I'm not done messing with the hair yet.
So... I live with my mom. She's absolutely dumb when it comes to technology these days. She works from home and the internet is the bane of her existence. She has Internet phone and the ISP hooked her up with a phone modem that connects through the router. Well it's faulty. It started acting up when our power went out so I think it short circuited somewhere. Anyways... She's convinced that because my computer is hard wired to the router, and when she unplugged EVERYTHING (resetting the modem in the process) and left my computer unplugged that it MUST be my computer which caused the Internet to go out this morning.
We have a maintenance guy coming tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully he can convince my mom that no, my computer was not the problem. Until then she has locked the router in her bedroom and is holding it hostage. I'm going to try to talk to her tonight.
I may not be on tonight... But I will draw either way. :/ I'm just really annoyed.
good. I'm a bit nervous with the steel drum band going to a far away university.
Autism Awareness be nice!  :squee: Maybe we should just teach people to not act like dumbasses!
I managed to talk my mom into hooking me back up. I don't know what my problem is today but I've just been super grouchy all day. Not having internet except on my phone made it that much worse. Hopefully having internet again will lighten my mood...
@, My mom quit learning about technology about 10 years ago. She doesn't even know how to text and she doesn't have a cell phone. Some of the stuff she says is downright hilarious.
@@KokuraiNoSenshi, Hey! Long time no see. Welcome back. How are you?
Busy lol, but in a fairly good mood. Today was quite the good day, truth be told. I got to school, and instead of working my teacher said "Go and usher people towards the area for the competitions today." He told me to take something to do, and when I said all I had was my phone and my 3DS he said to grab them both and go ahead and play that while I waited. I got off half my entire lab just to sit on my rear and play my video games ^^ Rest of the day was easy, and when it ended, I was joking with mom about me and my love of MLP, which ended with her wanting to watch some episodes with me. I didn't let her know but I'm honestly super excited, I've always wanted to watch some episodes with people in real life but I've never had anyone... Oh I hope she likes the show, it would make my brony life a hundred times easier
@@KokuraiNoSenshi, Sounds like a good day! I don't watch MLP with anyone else, either. I could watch it in the living room and no one will say anything, but it's not the same. Maybe you can talk your mom into watching an episode a night with you. I know my mom would agree to something like that.
It most likely won't be till next weekend, and we'll need my little brother out of the house. Otherwise I can't wait to watch some with her, I'm thinking A Canterlot Wedding to start things off. Only problem is she hates to watch things out of order, so that'll be annoying, but otherwise seems like a good idea to me
