Well long story short (bad pun), I'm writing a novel and I came to the point in writing it where I had devised a name for it entitled "Country Mile" so, not too long after that happened, I started messing around with cover page ideas and eventually after a few hours basically made this cover page up.

 

About my novel:

It takes place in the year 1977 in the rural part or backwoods america where these two police officers find a unusual set of crimes in not far from a small town that everyone knew everyone in. They eventually will come to find the criminals are basically using this as a distraction to bigger plans they have toward a highly populated area (This is all I will go into, I don't want to give too much away).

Thank you, It took some time to get the cover just right. But the novel is a working progress, so far I am happy with what I have put down. I have heard other folks talk about how they attempted to write and never finish, so that basically gave me that little push to try it out for myself. Normally once I start something I finish, but I know that for sure in about 40,000 somethin' more words.

Ah, well I'm sure if the writing quality is as good as the cover art, then it will be great. And well, I could have finished my book about a post-apocolyptic Roman emulating society, but then I played New Vegas. Now I don't know what to do really. So theres my cheap procrastination excuse, haha. Maybe i'll just write about the real Romans.

The cover took about 3 hours to make, the novel I started writing on January 18th 2012 (I gave you both dates just in case you meant one or the other). Thanks for your comment!

Thank you! I hope to have the novel finished up by the end of the summer, I don't know if I'll be getting it published or anything like that just yet, from what I heard from the folks I had given parts of it to read, they seemed to like it.

But, in the near future, I'll probably have it up on the internet like as a google document or something so people can read it.

I think you may have mis-read somewhere, I did indeed start the novel January 18th 2012, but It's not done. I'm 16,000+ words into it all typed in 12pt font on Microsoft Word with 47 pages. My goal is near around 40,000 or 50,000 words.

 

But to answer your question, the inspiration came from many things, but I'd have to say Country music was one of the bigger inspirations, I wanted to write something that gave a look into a part of America most people don't see and from being around a area where I see farmland, backroads and wide open space It really made me think hard on the picture I wanted to paint with my writing.

Another huge push for starting the novel was the people I went to school with, most of them thought nothing of me and many looked down upon me just for being myself (Being a Brony didn't help that cause) but never the less, I was told by someone I had a bit of a talent for writing and I just wanted to show them all I could write something good. I think my book (so far at least) would be a decent movie, maybe some day.

Thank you! I'm glad to see people take a liking to the cover, I know they always say "Never judge a book by it's cover" but personally. I think the cover of a movie or a book really tells a lot so I wanted to make it, well very interesting!

I have already come up with other ideas for books or short stories on my journey through writing this one, but I try and imply as much as I can into my current story.

I have always been interested in Chevrolet (Even though I drive a Cadillac), mainly automobiles all together but I prefer Chevy, or General Motors over other divisions and companies. If I do make this into a movie, I will push for Chevrolet automobiles to be used mainly because I specify many times what vehicle they drive in the novel itself.

Yeah normally once I get started on something I try to do a real good job and push on until the end. A movie would really paint the picture for the novel. I try my best to explain the detail and everything of the sort to build that image in someone's mind, but a movie would be awesome to see. Even if I have to animate it (which would take me forever) but maybe if it gets published I can think about writing a screenplay for the novel, or I could even allow myself to make one of them half animated video things as someone reads the book (I seen some on Youtube).

Well from what it looks like, your talents have come a long way. As for the movie, it sounds like a fantastic idea hope to see it in theaters eventually. ;D
