Does anyone get pre-movie SpongeBob vibes from Pinkie Pie?

The more I think about Pinkie Pie, the more I can't help but think that she's a spiritual successor to Season 1-3 SpongeBob. Think about it, alot of the antics the oldschool Sponge did are what you'd expect Pinkie to do.

They both also love work, friends, and have a passion for cooking. They're both happy and optamistic children at heart, and while not stupid, have a certain naivité that can make the missguided. So what do you think?

If we are talking about randomocity being done correctly then yes, I would actually agree. The pre movie seasons of Spongebob had a good amount of random jokes but they were actually funny and not overdone. Then they kinda went this way v, that be down, most likely down a hill. It is amazing how many lines from *good* Spongebob are actually hilarious when you look back on them. Pinkie is the same way in a sense, in my opinion.

I'm moreso talking about the Sponge as a character. In the pre-movie seasons, Spongebob did a lot of the wacky, random cartoon antics Pinkie Pie does. Whether it be doing an electric dance with a jellyfish, or driving a rock like a motorcycle, these are what you'd expect Pinkie to come up with.

>Inb4 someone posts "That scene" with Rarity, with Spongebob's "It's not just a boulder, it's a rock! A big, beautiful rock!" dubbed on top.

I might agree if I had ever seen anything w Sponge Bob in it or had more than a vague idea who he is.  The events in Baby Cakes, Too Many Pinkies & Pinkies Pride have matured her into Pinkie Lite.  It used to be like the song lyrics "But I never lost 1 minute of sleeping, worrying about the way things might have been."  Now it is more, "When I was young, my heart was young then, too.  Anything that it would tell me, that's the thing that I would do."  Sometimes she devotes an entire brain cell for a complete micro second to thinking before acting

My favorite Pinkie quote (after T said something about ponies letting their imagination roam free) "When I let my imagination roam free, it comes back with cake!"

Well, they're both happy-go-lucky characters, and are really cheerful, most of the time. So yes, pre-movie Spongebob I would compare to Pinkie. Post-movie Spongebob is just way too flanderized, though.
