What are the traits of a person you'd confide in?

It's a simple question. Name a bunch of traits that a person would have whom you would confide in. Or describe such a person. Up to you.

Preferably a wise person able to give good advice. Someone honestly sincere and sincerely honest. Empathy is definitely important but known when to put one's foot down if I'm being stubborn. Loyalty definitely helps. Orientation to seeking to understand your feelings with clarity (good luck with that).

That's what I could name off the top of my head. Give it a go.

I used to have a couple of really close friends in which we talked about things and such.

But these days that is something I am truly missing and seeking patiently. Someone who is always themselves, who would accept me for who I am with my faults, and caring.

Trust. The most important thing for me when establishing a deep bond with someone else is to be able to trust them. I don't care if they're dumb as a brick or have a weird fascination with chairs - as long as my gut tells me i can trust this person, i'll basically be prepared to take a bullet for them (oh and be comfortable enough to reveal deep secrets to them. That too.)

*Sighs* This is a tough question. I can't really give any specifics, but the one thing I need, is someone who will not, no matter what, betray me and stab me in the back. Someone who understands that my confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

I've never really had a friend were I could do that, they were all kind of bro-dudes and it would always be akward.

Anyways the traits I would look for would be someone with the capacity to sympathize with me, understanding, non-judgmental, trust, and loyalty.

For me, someone with less raging..., kind, gentle, and can have fun with me.

Don't judge a book by its cover. You will truly understand it if you're just willing to read it.

For one someone who can accept my crazy, and not try to change me just because. :maud:

That and be honest with me, and also trustworthy.  :maud:

Also, enjoy/share/not mind my love for FiM and Pinkie.  :maud:

Can't do any of the above, then no deal.   :maud:

There are few traits such person needs.

1. Overall caring personality.

2. Such person should be interested in listening to me, I don't want to throw my problems at people who can't or don't want to help.

3. I need to trust such person.

4. I have to know the person won't judge me, no matter what will I say.

As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person.

Someone who has the qualities of: Sincerity ( in the full sense of the word), Humility, Reliability, and Prudence. Although I think their may be a quality that escapes me... as their are people who do have the mentioned qualities but I wouldn't think of "confiding in them". I think the last thing has to do with whether I feel they would be a good person to talk to; although, I think this probably works more to my detriment more often than being beneficial.

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

Anyone who lends me a hand times of need/trouble, I consider an honest friend/bro/dude/dudette. =D

That is easy -- the elements of harmony.

Loyalty to not drop me as a friend for what they heard or reveal what I have said.

Honesty to not simply humor me and let me walk off a cliff without saying the hard rebuttals.

Generosity to actually take the time to hear out and deal with the issues.

Laughter to not let it get them down, and to cheer you up.

Kindness to temper the advice given in a positive and not sarcastic manner.

Bound by the Magic of friendship.

Perfect response. Even to this day it still amazes me how true that is.
