Congrats you've managed to stay normal while me and Dawn go on about our fantasies of Cheerilee, but yeah I only ever knew about a handful of Buckcherry tracks, so I can't say much at all about them.

Dude, I just got back from taking a shower because I have school tomorrow. And guess who I will be seeing tomorrow. Hehehehehehe

SO how about some more Venom?

SO how about some more Venom?

It's official Dawn is an extremely huge Venom fan, and has fantasies over Cheerilee though honestly who wouldn't

But yeah since we're still posting Metal in the Rock thread I'm just gonna leave some more Opeth, they seem like the best heavier band for a rock thread

We should go back to the Metal thread if we're gonna keep this up

Since Hardcore and Post Hardcore isn't a metal subgenre, I'm gonna post some here. Adept are one of my favorite bands of all time. Even though I'm not really into rock right now, I'll always listen to Adept a lot.

Their most famous song here

A newer track from them. It's one of my favorites by them

And btw, their newest album Silence the World is freaking awesome. I recommend it

You don't have to be a prog band to make a 20 minute song. I could only get this song seperated because the UMG are dildos. This is like Venom's equivolant to 2112. And unlike Rush, Venom uses the pentagram pointing in the right direction.

Okay, so I finally got around to buying "The Unraveling" by Rise Against. I'm only halfway through the album right now, but it sounds pretty cool so far. I like the first song a lot:

Marianas Trench counts as rock. O_o

I dont know what counts as soft rock and heavy rock in you guys opinion. 0.o

But to be honest, I'll probably like it as long as it isnt screamo, Justin Bieber or One Direction. >.<

Or just anything that goes way too mainstream. 0_0 Mainstream is alright. But when it gets too mainstream it gets out of hand than I'll start hating on it. :T XD

One of the most emotional experiences one can have with rock music to have come out in the past few years. Ready your tissues.

Slipknot! This band is beast!

I like Slipknot, this is my favorite song by them:

In terms of rock, the band I've gotten into most recently is Coheed and Cambria. This song is sooooo good!!!

Seriously, if you don't listen to this song, you are really missing on a great song.

I'll leave this emo record here. A really sobering and emotional experience, and some of the best in the genre from the past few years.

So I've come to the conclusion that this is possibly my absolute favorite song of all time, and really, it kind of always has been. This is the first album I was ever introduced to, and it's still my favorite album ever.

Well since I'm listening to this right now I might as well leave it here, it's an amazing song, if you're good with the french vocals. Alcest are an amazing band.

Classical rock at it's finest.

Steely Dan are a magical group.

I honestly don't listen to much rock anymore. The chords and song structure and lyrics and almost everything is pretty boring-sounding to me nowadays...

Slipknot still holds the title as best of those nu-metal/hard rock groups of the 90's though.

So much angst.

I tend to take the high road, get stoned, and fly low . . .

I never understood how people's taste could just suddenly change and they could stop liking a whole genre that they used to like a lot. Like my best friend from high school used to have pretty similar taste in music as me, and then all of a sudden he started saying that everything I like sucks, and he started listening to stuff like Coldplay and other bands like that, which are boring in my opinion.

Also, I'm glad to see you liking Slipknot more now. Iowa has some pretty cool songs like People = Shit, Disasterpiece, and Everything Ends.

Well, people's opinions change and people can discover things that maybe they like more.

Personally, once I started getting into more metallic music (and started playing guitar, too), I realized how simple and, in my opinion, boring that most rock chords and songs and singing is. It's usually the same repeated riff all the way through the intro, verse, change it up a bit for the chorus, same verse, same chorus, bridge, chorus, outro.

Yeah, but even though I've discovered a lot of new bands that I like, I still love the bands that I loved back in high school, which were mainly Rush, Disturbed, and My Chemical Romance. I've loved Rush since I was 9, and that was like almost 12 years ago.

(I just realized that those three bands are a really random combination lol. Like they are all nothing alike. I guess that just shows I like a variety of things.)

If you haven't realized, I tend to take a band, completely fangasm about them, then let them slowly subside to the peripheral of my music library. After a few months, I listen to them again and then get really into them, and then begin to neglect them, only to repeat the cycle.

I'm not exactly the most faithful to music I like.

Oh, and this isn't technically rock, it's ska.

Still, this band holds a special place in my heart <3

New album is phenomenal.
