general media How has MLP affected you? Bad or good?

For me it's both. It's a positive because it gives me a copious amount of time to basically smile and be happy, and it's a negative because I really can't stop thinking about the show in general. Mainly S5. This sometimes disrupts my life in a non-pleasant way. Another bad thing that I've so recently come across by accident is some of the work created by strange fans (from other sites), by which I know many aren't even affiliated with the actual show.

 

So MLP is like a long lost child to me- waiting for me to find her somewhere in this world. Knowing that she's alive keeps me motivated and worried simultaneously. I sure hope my fav show doesn't turn in the wrong direction, or get demonized by the general public due to a very limited group of weirdos.

Bad thing: My school students are making fun of me, bullying me -_- just because I watch MLP.

It effects me in a good and negetive way too.

 

In a good way it makes me happy and makes me think how you can have great friends like the mane 6 has.

 

Also makes me laugh and forget about all my problems.

 

 

In a negetive way cause I think about things like A True True Friend and think that I don't have a lot of true friends or how badly that maybe some of my friends won't very true to our friendship.

I've love the show for years, but new to the fandom. I'm wondering why on earth would someone take a beautiful, flawless character like Celestia and turn it in to absolute trash.

Both. It, along with the fandom, has made me into a better person. These days, I am more accepting of opinions as well as more sociable.

 

The only thing that has affected me negatively is how the show treats friendship. While it surely has taught me how to make friends the right way, it has kind of put me in this mindset that friendship is the best thing ever. I actually don't think it is, but living in a dystopia with no friends is just as worse as the opposite.

Just investigating. Title of video sounds normal but the actual vid was...wrong. I was only searching for songs and special feature clips of her. The creators won't be too happy

I actually haven't noticed any negative changes. The first couple weeks were a bit humiliating, but besides that, everything is good. I got a new time-waster that's brightened me up from the sad and depressed kid I once was. Actually, that was just 7,5 months ago. I've really gotten happier since that time. Even my negative attitude changed.

 

Actually, there is one downside... The dark sides of MLP has manifested a bit of my brain and I've grown to love em. Not talking clop, but rather the grim-dark and depressing sides of it. Really. I just

Can't get enough of dark and depressing art and Fan fictions . Actually, I just can't get enough of Fan fictions in general. So, there's the downside, if you can call it that.

I love the show. Although I think I've always been "in touch" with my feminine side, and my inner child, I think MLP has helped me embrace them.

 

I do waste an awful lot of time on this site though. :-(

Both, but leaning towards the bad side.

Good:

Created many wonderful ideas in my imagination,

encouraged and inspired me to avoid or play with cliches and tropes,

encouraged creativity,
made me think twice before taking on some really serious issues (for my bronyism will spoil my reputation there),
caused me to appreciate horses and (real) ponies more
(EDIT: also made me interested in Mongolia and Hunnic cultures)

Bad:

Made me waste a lot of time daydreaming about the ponies
Wasting time to surf the net to watch brony/hater drama
Ruins my reputation (who knows if people will hate me if they knew that I watch MLP)
Limits my worldview
May have caused me to dislike some people
Encourages obsession
(EDIT: Sometimes causes me to daydream about abusing horses)

The show affected me (and still affects me) in a positive way.

 

For starters, the fandom is awesome

The show is very positive and teaches some good morals. I'm now more open to different opinions because of witnessing a kid's show be so great. I've also met tons of a people in the fandom and it gives me something to obsess about.

Well I'd say it's been mostly positive. I just keep my mouth shut around those who don't need to hear about me being a brony and just only speak with those bronies and pegasisters, like on here, about the show. I've in general learned to keep a good balance in my life. It's what keeps the last bit of sanity in tact.

I find myself on here more and more frequently now that I have more time to spare. I cannot really visit any other places due to the fear of unexpected encounters of what I don't want to see. This and Equestria Daily are my safe havens
