The Claw Machine

Man oh man I love these things. If you don't know, a claw machine is a game where there are numerous toys in a machine, and you have to use a little mechanical claw to pick them up, hopefully win a thing or two. I've logged a lot of game hours on them. I've never won, but they are fun to play with. Discuss them or share your wins here!

I always have good luck with them. I don't win every time, but I have won a lot. One time, I played a claw machine five consecutive times, and got seven toys out of it. Cross my heart and hope to die, that actually happened.

I remember playing them a lot when I was younger. I didn't win anything though. It's hard to play.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

These things are super hard.. I wanted this penguin in there once and I spent 8$ trying to get it..

I only play them if there's something that I actually want, and even then I never spend more than a buck.

The best thing I ever pulled out of a claw machine was an alarm clock that lasted for two years before I gave it away.

Those things are rigged! I swear no matter how well you grab something the claw just drops it when it retracts to the ceiling.. On occasion you'll get RNG luck and be picked as a winner, but I still say there's something fishy about them.. :okiedokielokie:

I did, however, manage to get a Spyro plushie out of one years ago while on holiday, so yes, I have to like them too. Sometimes. :please:

It's suffered some damage over the years but overall I think it's lasted pretty well for a decade old crane prize.  :derp:

I absolutely love claw machines even though some of them may be rigged. I don't remember what they were but I once won three plushies at once.

I think most of them feel rigged. My parents would used to tell me as a kid how they were all rigged and ate your money. I would try to play them and never win at them. My dad actually won me a Patrick Star plushie when I was 8. Also, last year I was at a bowling ally and there was one there with a bunch of balls and I played it out of boredom and actually won.

I have a funny story with a claw machine.

When I was in middle school for 8th grade all the 8th graders went on a field trip to Cincinnati where we went to a Roller coaster park. And my friend brought $60 in ones to spend over the entire trip, and we took a break from walking and went into one of those arcades you see in Amusement parks. And there was a claw machine that had 5 iPhones in it! (it was like the newest version) so I already knew that it would be really hard to do or else they wouldn't put IPHONES in it. My friend didn't see it that way and spend two hours feeding in his one dolor bills and not getting a single bite. He ended up spending all $60 and never got the iPhone. Here's the kicker, I only had like $5 because I didn't have that much money. And I tried it because he said it was "impossible". No joke, the very first try I picked it up, and brought it over to the chute and I received a brand new iPhone for one dollar. To this day my friend hates me for it.

My mom used to like claw machines and she had won some plushies when she was younger, but whenever she saw me looking at some cool toy in one of them she told me they were rigged nowadays -_- Apparently the claw really doesn't have a good grip and can easily let the toy slip if you ever manage to catch one at all :okiedokielokie:

One time I saw a cool Smurfette plushie in a Denny's claw machine while we were eating and my mom tried her best to get it for me to no luck ^_^ We ended up buying a much better Smurfette plushie at Wal-Mart anyway :squee:

My parents have told me to stay away from those things, but they look so fun. I've played them before, but I don't think I've won anything in the past.

So yeah, it can be a waste of money.

Those things are cheap. They might as well make them worth a dime so that more people ought to do it without the fear of losing 25 or 50 cents. It might wor out better for the companies or machine owner.

I've won a few good prizes...

I love claw machines but I swear most of them are rigged, especially nowadays. When I was a kid my family used to travel out of state and we would frequently stay at the same motel on our trip. This motel had a claw machine that was either really lucky or I just became an expert at because I would win something practically every single time! I was always so excited to play that one.

I haven't played claw machines in years but I have won a few nice things. Once I picked a Sonic plushie.
