movies/tv What separates a 6-11 action cartoon from a 9-14 action cartoon?

Action cartoons typically target 2 demographics, Boys 6-11, or Boys 9-14. But where do we determine what a 6-11 action cartoon is compared to a 9-14 cartoon. Here's my opinion.

A 6-11 action cartoon is pretty light on action, and basically means 6+ or 8+. This type of action cartoon made with the sole purpose of selling toys, and typically has little to no continuity or character progression. They typically air either Saturday mornings, or early afternoons. Bakugan, Pokémon, Max Steel are good examples.

A 9-14 action cartoon is usually a creator driven show, but beyond that, it's one that has more meat to it. Continuity is more involved, violence is upped a bit, dialogue is cruder sometimes, more risqué. It's pretty much equal to 10+ or 12+. These shows typically air in late afternoon or Prime-time. Justice League, Megas XLR, Sym-Bionic Titan, Generator Rex, Toonami and most shonen anime fall under this category

There's also shows like Transformers Prime which combine elements of both, making them 6-14 targeted shows. These are just my opinions though, so feel free to give me yours.
