Dark Origins is as the name implies, an origin story of Dark Mist. I have chosen to do this, because i can't really express how to describe her in bios, so this will be the alternative a story with 50k words in total, having an estimated 10+ chapters. Each chapter shows a bit more of Dark Mist's personality as she goes through her life, going from a loss of a friend, to fighting a darkness that wants to consume her soul from within, turning her into a pony of shadow; but also a cruel, heartless and arrogant pony to boot.

 

All these attribute to her becoming that nightmare, but being unable to stop herself from hurting others. The real Dark Mist is loving and kind, while this one is the exact opposite. Turning ponies to stone for her own amusement, to tormenting Dark Mist in its Sequel. But back to the real story here:

 

Dark Mist starts off as an amish like resident, where the ponies are reliant on research and inventions that were made by hoof. Magic is considered sacraligous to them and they seem to only accept those that help raise and lower the sun and moon. Not like they can stop it. There is Dark Mist, a unicorn pony filly, who sees magic in a different light, also her friend and mentor, Starlight, a unicorn mare who teaches her magic to help. Starllight's mission is to watch over Dark Mist, a pony who is suspected of having Dark Magic.

 

This becomes apparent after Dark Mist manages to cast it without any training, but its all done subconsciously. Then comes the day Dark Mist's adventurous side gets the better of her and she explores the forest oblivious to what is awaiting her. The one creature that comes after her is a manticore, which seems to remember Dark Mist trapping it in a a cage of black crystals from her dark magic the day before.

 

Starlight saves her, but pays the price as she saves Dark Mist by teleporting her out of the forest to safety, leaving Starlight to contend with this beast alone. Dark Mist isn't sure if she is alive or dead; but assumes she is gone.

 

She survives by using the survival training taught to her by Starlight as well.
