Out of all the Dr.'s who is your favorite mine has to be the 4th Doctor Tom Baker. Although I do like the recent incarnations my favorite new one has to be 11th Doctor Matt Smith. So who's your favorite Dr.

11 is my all-time favourite. I do not care what other people say about him; that he is ugly or that Matt is not as good an actor as Tennant. 10 was just a pretty face. Since Steven Moffat took charge of the series, it has gone from strength to strength and Matt was a big factor in this.

11 was lovable and friendly; could be both serious and silly (had a good acting range) and, although he was the youngest actor to date to take over the role of the Doctor he had an air of kindly wisdom and maturity to him, behind his clown-like exterior.

He was funny and adorable; he was like a slightly embarrassing old uncle who behaves inappropriately but is kindly and wise. Not afraid to be a figure of fun and Matt's acting was just spot-on in regards to this.

I feel you there I also love Matt smith I thought he was going to be there for a while, so it sucked when they replaced him, so I feel your love.

I've watched up to almost series 7 of the new Doctor Who (just started Me watching a live-action show? Blasphemy, I know! =P) and I really loved the 10th doctor. He was cute, and I loved how Tennant displayed his enthusiasm.

Smith isn't bad, I just don't know what I think about the storyline since he appeared yet. I'll wait to see if some things get explained, but if they don't the writing has gotten very odd and...not as good.

It's so hard to decide. My favorite classic Who doctor is Patrick Troughton (2nd Doctor).

But I also love Colin Baker (6th Doctor).

I see a lot of people say their favorite is 4, but I don't get that because he is my very least favorite.

As for my favorite new Doctor, I'm torn. It used to be 10, but now 11 is challenging him for favorite status. And I used to hate 11.

My favourite is Tom of course...you just can't beat him! He's too good :D

I do enjoy Pertwee, Davison, and McCoy a lot too.

And on a separate note, I really loved Hartnell's role as the doctor...I mean, the stuff he had to go through...

He was the first one to regenerate and watch someone else replace him. He was technically my "first" doctor

as the first episode I ever watched was "an unearthly child."

Now in regards to new who? I enjoyed David's performance, and even matt had some good ones...but I'm loving Capaldi's take on the show.

It's as if he's fusing the past and the present and bringing the show back to its roots. He IS the doctor, and you can really feel it from him.

The newest Doctor (12 or 13? I don't know after that anniversary) has really been growing on me lately; I like how Capaldi brings back the older, more serious tone that was common in Classic Who while still retaining all the improvements the newer Doctors have brought to the show. I also really enjoy the dynamic between him and Clara as I don't think it's one that has been explored by the show before.

All that said, Tom is and always will be "the" Doctor.

Is it super mainstream to say DT's incarnation. Ahh well he even has a pony designed after him. He can't be that bad.

Tom Baker and David Tennant.

I remember how thrilled I was when I found out Tennant would be the new Doctor Who. He'd just been in the BBC's adaptation of Casanova, and played the role beautifully. Any fans of Tennant who have not seen Casanova, do so.

Ditto Broadchurch.

Yeah I agree with you Tennant was awesome, and I love Matt Smith hell I've been watching Dr. Who since the 1980's so its cool to see what people say about the new Dr.'s.

I hear you I like the 4th DR. because thats who I grew up watching in the 80's, as for the new Dr.'s I love matt smith, Tennant is awesome to.

I feel your love there for Tom Baker, and yes I love Tennant, and Smith, Smith the most.

I have many favourites, its hard to pick just one. I like the 6th, 4th, 10th, 1st, and lastly 7th doctor. My least favourite is 11th, (Dun't judge me) 'cause I have no interest in him whatsoever.

No ones, I hope will judge I mean its your opinon, and I respect that I love Matt smith, and yes its hard to pick I agree.

Tom Baker and David Tennant.

I was introduced to the Dr Who reboot with #9 (Eccelston), loved Tennant and devastated by the tragic romance with Rose, and I adore Smith as # 11. I'm not sure about # 12... But He should bring back Donna Noble. Oh, what fun that would be!

@Poetic Stone

The more reason for me not liking Matt Smith is because I find that most people who began watching the show in 2010-14 ((Matt's run)) like Matt Smith due to he's the first doctor they see. So they kind of have that 'bond'. The reason I don't like this is because I find most people starting to watch Doctor Who should start on the earlier doctors first to know what to expect basically, then began watching the current doctor. Its a weird reason, but its just basically one of my own reasons that doesn't seem to say "Yo, I dun't like Matt Smith." I have respects for all of those who love Matt Smith, and trust me, I find he's a cool doctor, just not one of my favourites.

First Doctor I watched was Christopher Eccleston then David Tennant then Matt Smith then got into older stuff and so on.

So basically my favourite doctor is a toss up between Matt Smith and Tom Baker, both are funny and enjoyable to watch but if I had to choose I would have to say Tom Baker because (besides jelly babies) he simply did more better. He was good from start to finish whereas Matt started to become worse during his last season with Clara. I really didn't enjoy the costume change to black even though I know it was for the darker tone but that was not what I loved about the 11th he was quirky, he ate fish fingers and custard, he said what he wanted to anyone and that was amazing then he turned into all dark and moody still was quite good just not the same.

My order of best doctors would probably have to go:

1. Tom Baker

2. Matt Smith

3. Patrick Troughton

4. Jon Pertwee

then I start to lose track with basically the end result being something along the lines of Paul McGann and David Tennant bottoming the list, they are good they just aren't as good as the rest and even though David had some very emotional scenes I just never felt his emotion (except for the Utopia three parter that was like the top of David's run right there)
