Any Pro-Wrestling Fans Around?

I haven't watched WWE in so long, who is a possibility as far as a winner is concerned?

Haven't watched in months. But it's looking a bit ambiguous. Either Balor returns to challenge Owens, or Cena returns to challenge Styles for #17.

In that case,

I'm thinking John Cena is going to win the Royal Rumble to give himself yet another WrestleMania Main Event.

AT least Styles/Cena sounds like a superior main event compared to last years.

But either way it's gonna look pitiful compared to Okada/Omega from this past Wrestle Kingdom, or be up staged and embarrassed by whatever the main event of Takeover: Orlando is gonna be.

Anything's better than a Roman Reigns WrestleMania Main Event three-peat.

I don't know much about Japanese wrestling except one match I watched between AJ Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura at

Wrestle Kingdom 10. (I could be wrong on where the match took place.)

Oh no you're right. And I would advise getting involved. NJPW is growing pretty fast. Though if you want an introduction, ROH does share talent and a commentary team with them.

Seeing all this talk about Japanese wrestling makes me want to know a good place to watch it online.

If your a cheapskate w/ a good add blocker & firewall, Dailymotion would be the main source. But if you want to support NJPW, you could get a subscription to their network for 999 yen ($8.63) a month. Heck, go online now and you can watch the recently uploaded New Years Dash event for free.

http://njpwworld.com/about?waad=BGmNta3Q

45 years worth of NJPW matches available for viewing, plus access to week long events like the New Japan Cup, Best Of The Super Juniors, World Tag League and the G1 Climax tournament. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Okay, i finally sat down today to watch Wrestle Kingdom 11 from the Tokyo Dome.

This is probably already show of the year and it dosen't surprise me, because New Japan is very efficent in that since the last few years to bring out the best show at the new year. :P

Not to spoil anything, but the last 4 Matches on the card are all 4.5 to 5 Star matches, especially the Main Event for the IWGP World Title between Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega.

If you love pure in ring Pro Wrestling, this is the show for you. :)

Hell of a show.  Weakest match on the card was Tiger Mask W vs. Tiger the Dark, but even then it is cool in a way to see these live action anime advertisements. Makes me wanna see Tiger Mask W now. Totally agree with you on the lats half of the card being fantastic.

But what also sold me on this ppv were the nuances. Little things like a story being told within the match, which Tanahashi/Naito & Okadaq/Omega did very well.

And the commentary, at least on the English end, was a great listen. Kevin Kelly & Steve Corino aren't advertising soundboards. They're human beings, and more importantly, wrestling fans, and their commentary here shows that. Kelly is passionate about the action he's calling, and Corino is both knowledgeable about the wrestling culture in Japan, and funny as hell with the jokes he cracks about half the roster. It was quite refreshing, and hilarious, to hear him have to take his head set off becasue of how much he was cracking up due to the record number of swear words being tossed around in the three way tag title match.

One tweet that was read on air summed it up best: "This isn't PG." Fun fact: WrestleKingdom trended #1 on Twitter.  And of course, there came the moment when both Kelly & Corino jumped out of their seats during the main event. And Masahiro Chono over at the Japanese booth just looked at them, and slowly nodded in approval.

It's little things like that which helps the commentary add to the match. It's gonna break my heart when Corino goes over to NXT.

I think that Bill had probably no idea what they where talking about. :P

I might not be the biggest Goldberg fan, but things like this shows that he is a very nice guy. I think he got a bit more humble over the years. :)

Also, my boy Pac/Neville is also in it. :P

The Road Warriors are undefeated at WrestleMania.

Sting hasn't won at WrestleMania, so I like The Road Warriors more than Sting.

Me and others waited 14 years for Sting to make his WWE debut, he finally comes in and then loses to Triple H.

Thank you for spitting in the faces of your fans, Sting.

I used to love, respect and idolize you but you sold out and broke the hearts of many of your fans, including me.

I can't look at Sting the same way since this run in WWE made him look awful and stupid.

Now, I'm not sure if I can support you, Sting.

I will always support The Road Warriors because they dominated their opponents and never showed mercy.

You showed weakness by shaking the hand of Triple H.

So, I think it's true that The Road Warriors are better than Sting and mean more than Sting.

And both of Sting's matches were awful in WWE.

And nothing good ever came out Sting's WWE run except before he lost.

In case anypony hasn't followed the WWE Hall of Fame, the first 2 inductees to be announced were Diamond Dallas Page and "Ravishing" Rick Rude.

What do you think of these choices? Who would you like to see go in this year?

If I may speak briefly on Rude. I hope he's inducted by Paul Heyman and NOT by either Triple H or especially Shawn Michaels.

I believe he did not fit in with D-Generation X at all. Was it Vince Russo's idea to put Rude with DX? from what I understand Rude was friends with the Hart Foundation backstage and hated HBK. So why put Rick with those degenerates?

Paul Heyman on the other hand is perhaps the best choice. After all, it was under Heyman's management in WCW that Rude was at the peak of his career as a top heel.

Although I liked him with Bobby Heenan in the WWF in the 80's, Heenan probably wouldn't be the best choice to induct him because it's rumored that the 2 didn't get along well. Plus Heenan's health is not in the best shape now.

As far as other inductees go, I think it's wrong to restrict the induction of posthumous inductees to one per year because whether we like it or not, WAY too many wrestlers have met early deaths.

Do you think we'll see any of these passed wrestlers inducted anytime soon:

-British Bulldog

-Owen Hart

-Brian Pillman

-Miss Elizabeth

-Bruiser Brody

-Dr. Death Steve Williams

-Bam Bam Bigelow

-Earthquake John Tenta

-etc

@@Denim&Venom,@@Mesme Rize,

My favorite matches that I watched from Wrestle Kingdom 11 were

the IWGP Intercontinental Championship match & the IWGP Openweight Championship match.

You mean the N.E.V.E.R. openweight championship. Though I do wonder why they didn't make it an IWGP belt in the first place.

So what about Okada/Omega made it not as good as Naito/Tanahashi & Shibata/Goto?

I'm may to have to turn in my "fan card" over this but, I'm not that big of a fan of Kenny Omega, for some reason.

Not because, of the stuff he says to get heel heat (I don't care about promos or storylines that much anymore.)

I just don't think he's as entertaining in the ring as most people online do.*

I'm pretty much basing my opinion of Kenny Omega on this match &

numerous online opinions that he's one of Celestia's gifts to Professional Wrestling.

Also, what is your opinion of Adam Cole & The Young Bucks?

Those are three other wrestlers I saw for the first time and I wanted to get your thoughts.
