So, war machine/ war raiders have been called down to the main roster. Problem is they're not called that anymore.

That could be true. Vince McMahon seems to be stuck in a 1970's - 1980's time warp.

Maybe why Broadie Lee also had his name changed to Luke Harper, even though the idea for his gimmick was an homage to Brusier Broadie. 

Makes me think Simon Gotch got away with his name by saying he was an homage to Frank Gotch instead of Karl Gotch. And I'm guessing Arn helped canonize Karl Anderson as part of the Anderson family. Either that or Vinny gave so little of a damn that it didn't really matter. 

Either way, all three are either out of or on their way out of WWE.

Interesting that you bring up Harper/Lee (Heh. ) cause he just posted a message saying that he's leaving WWE.

About damn time. Criminally underrated big man. I wanna see him in NJPW as the newest member of Suzuki-gun. Or heck, play off that Brusier Broadie likeness and go to All Japan. They're hurting for talent at the moment, having dealt with two mass exoduses.

What is the point of bringing WM in with their indy/New Japan names if they're going to have their names changed once they get on the MR?

 

I thought they moved past this after people like Samoa Joe & AJ Styles were able to keep their names once they made it on TV.

Apparently it's due to the term 'war' not being family friendly enough for sponsors. Kinda why 'Raw Is War' stopped being a thing.  

Also AJ and Joe were well tenured vets with huge fan support. Calling them was like calling in Sting or Flair.  Hanson and Rowe, while well respected, haven't been around as long and don't have as many fans.

1. I thought that was (Partly) due to WCW going out of business signaling the end of the "Monday Night War". 
2. We know who Hanson and Rowe are! Cater to us!

They kept it for a bit after. It was really 9/11 that did away with it. Also why they swapped Armageddon w/ Vengeance that year. 

We do know. But we're only a fraction of the paying audience. If fans like us really mattered, NXT wouldn't be such a money pit and 205 "live" wouldn't be all crickets.

1. I wish NXT's writing/booking staff would move one or two people to the main roster in order to freshen things up a bit.
2. WWE seem to be moving 205 people to the MR little by little. Hopefully, that will help change my perspective on them.

1. Don't think It'd make a difference. Different production set up. Different audience. Different chairman. NXT & WWE might as well be as different as ECW and WCW. Doesn't help that 205 live was screwed from the get go by being nothin g liek the CWC. That and losing Ibushi and ZSJ probably didn't help. 

2. Starting to wonder if they're phasing the brand out. Make the Crusierweight belt part of NXT or something.

I hope so too, but it's looking more and more like he'll try and micromanage both. Or maybe just start the XFL and leave it in someone elses hands.

i'd say it's more negligent than petty. They're the one's who film everything at the Barclay's center while saving MSG for house shows. The only petty thing they did was try to stop it. And they failed. Miserably. 

NJPW & ROH did on their first try something WWE has only done once in the last 5 years, and that's sell out the worlds most famous arena.

It's all about presentation with WWE, nowadays. That's probably why they moved WrestleMania to those big, roofless stadiums.
