How different is the everfree forest anyways?

I've been thinking about this, the rest of equestria has ponies taking care of the weather and other things, but things happen on their own in the Everfree forest. But does that mean there would be no weather in equestria without the ponies, or that the ponies manage the wild weather and things would work on their own without them just like in the everfree forest?

I always imagined that equestria was in some type of time sync bubble separated from the rest of the world as a means of protection from all the things that want to eat them. The trade off is that the ponies had to manually move everything about.

That was my post season one theory any how.

Well, weather itself would still exist, but it would largely be like it is with us; doing what it wanted.

Really, the ponies control it for their own benefit. They manage the wild weather and even have schedules for when rain hits. Without them; it'd just work out on it's own, but wouldn't be very convenient for the ponies.

For one reason or another, Ponies cannot seem to be able to or choose not to tame the Everfree forest. Whatever magics that are in place to control the weather in Equestria are null in within its boarders, probably resembling what the land was like prior to Pony colonization.

Yeah I think the ponies take care of the weather according to their activities (farming for example...). Otherwise, maybe the weather is very random.

I guess most people are assuming that the Everfree forest is the norm and Equestria is the exception, like things must be wild outside of Equestria too. Unless Griffons controll the weather where the Griffons live too.

Although there is an interesting question about why the everfree forest is not controllable. The ruins of that castle are there, so maybe the everfree forest is connected to whatever happened to the alicorns.

Given the Ever free surround the Sisters Castle, I think it was born from

the magic of the fight between Tia and Nightmare Moon way back

in the day or the sisters had used the Everfree forest sort of like a

moat/barrior and also to Protect the Tree of Harmony from outsiders

a bit.

Here's a theory that I think makes a lot of sense and I agree with it.

Given the Ever free surround the Sisters Castle, I think it was born from

the magic of the fight between Tia and Nightmare Moon way back

in the day or the sisters had used the Everfree forest sort of like a

moat/barrior and also to Protect the Tree of Harmony from outsiders

a bit.

Go read "The Journal of The Two Sister". According to that book (which is canon btw) the Everfree forest existed even before Tia and Luna got their cutiemarks and especially before Luna was banished to the moon. Apperently, they built their castle where it is, dispite it being in the middle of the Everfree forest, because of its close proximity to the Tree of Harmony. Considering that the Tree of Harmony is pretty much the source of magic in Equestria, it makes sense why they would want to build their castle there. Edited by Serenade

Speaking of weather, we need more episodes that take place on a scheduled rain day. So far we have had 1 scheduled storm and one accidental storm caused by rarity.

Well my headcanon is that the ponies colonized the lands of Equestria with their magic, but the natural order of things couldn't be completely wiped out and so was concentrated into what is now the Everfree Forest.  Given that the forest has expanded somewhat over the course of 1000 years, my idea is that the Everfree is slowly acclimatizing itself for the more magically abundant environment of the rest of Equestria.

Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end.
